Overworked

Harry’s P.O.V
I feel so bad for making her watch that. I know she’s upset now because she never goes out in the rain. I went downstairs and checked on the twins before starting dinner. I finished making it and Maddie still wasn’t back. I put some onto the kids’ plates and called them before going to get the twins. I put them in their high chairs and gave them a small bowl each. They started to feed themselves and I smiled. The door opened and in walked a dripping wet Maddie and Charlie.
“I’m cold.” Maddie shivered and I laughed going over and taking her shoes off for her. She was carrying Charlie so he didn’t put muddy paw prints on the carpet. She took him downstairs and started running a bath while I sat down with the kids and ate dinner. Maddie came back upstairs with Charlie who was now clean about 10 minutes later and went to change out of her dripping wet clothes. Tonight will be a night where she doesn’t eat obviously. We all finished dinner and I took the kids’ plates. I put them in the sink and wiped up the mess that the twins had made. They went and watched TV and Maddie came back and took her plate off the side and sat at the breakfast bar to eat it. I was kind of shocked by her actions but tried to disguise it by loading up the dishwasher. “Sorry I didn’t eat with you and the kids, I didn’t want Charlie getting mud everywhere and I was freezing cold from the rain.” She apologised.
“It’s fine.” I turned around and smiled at her. She smiled back and continued eating. “Sorry for making you watch that earlier. I shouldn’t have done it.”
“You’ve already apologised, honestly, I’m not bothered.” She assured me and I nodded and shut the dishwasher.
“Can you put it on after you’ve put your plate in please babe?” I asked and kissed her neck. She nodded and I went and sat with the kids. We watched TV and Maddie joined us half way through. At around 7pm Maddie took the twins down to bed and Lis went up soon after. Brooke and Adam stayed up until around 9 and then went to bed leaving just me and Maddie. “I’ve missed this.”
“What?” Maddie said putting her legs over my lap.
“Just me and you, normally the kids are here and we never get anytime together.” I said.
“Part of being a parent babe,” she moved closer to me. I picked her up and sat her on my lap moving to the side of the couch. She leant her back against the armrest and smiled up at me. She looks beautiful wearing a hoodie and leggings. She is wearing her glasses and they make her look really hot, they go with her hair a lot. The blue contacts have come out and she’s gone natural with only a dash of makeup. She looks beautiful no matter what. “Do you miss the guys?” She whispered twirling her hair around her finger.
“Yes gorgeous, but you coming home has made everything better.” I answered honestly.
“I miss them too. I wish they didn’t have to leave.” She sighed.
“Their family is in the UK, both of their families; at least we have family out here. They had nothing except us and they all love their families so it was time for them to go home. Don’t worry baby, we’ll see them again.” I kissed her.
“I know we will. It’s just upsetting not being able to walk two minutes down the road to have a chat with El.” She said.
“Add a few extra minutes and you can go and have a chat with Belle.” I reminded her.
“It’s not the same. I’m closer to the others. Belle and I have drifted apart so much recently. El, Dani, Perrie and I have always been together since we met. If you guys went on tour, we’d get together and have girly nights but Belle would never come. We’d invite her but she was always doing something else. She never wanted to hang out with us. My girls have left and now they’re thousands of miles away.” She sniffed. I’m not sure whether it’s because she still hasn’t recovered from getting cold outside or because she’s about to cry, but either way, I don’t want her upset.
“I know you are honey, you still have Niall here though. You’re really close with him.” I said and she nodded putting her head on my arm.
“I love you Harry.” She whispered.
“I love you too Maddie.” I replied. After about 10 minutes, I could hear faint snores coming from Maddie and chuckled slightly being careful not to wake her up. I got up from the sofa and turned everything off and locked the doors before taking her up to bed. I got her changed into her pyjamas and tucked her into bed. I got ready for bed myself and got in next to her, wrapping my arm around her petite body. I love this girl.
