Overworked

Harry’s P.O.V
I sat playing with the buttons on my shirt. All of us are nervous about today. This is one of the biggest things we’re ever going to do, a thing that we will only do once.
“Stop worrying. It’ll be fine.” Maddie whispered in my ear. We watched as people prepared.
“And now please welcome One Direction!” A guy announced. This is it. We all looked at each other and made our way to our chairs. We sat down and the guy started talking. “…because they have a very important announcement, isn’t that right lads?”
“Yeah it is.” Liam confirmed. I looked over at Niall and he was sitting picking at his jeans.
“Which is?” The guy turned to me.
“Urm, we hate to say this but we’re going to be splitting up…” I said into the mic. The audience made up of publishers and reporters all gasped.
“Is this a temporary thing or are you done for good?” Someone asked.
“We’d like to think it’s a temporary thing but really, we’d be fooling ourselves saying that. We’ve been going for 18 years now and it’s time to stop. We need to be with our families and be the husbands and fathers that we all are.” Zayn told them. I watched as everyone wrote this down.
“So are your wives cool with this?”
“Let’s just say they’re happy. They’ve been begging us to stop for ages now. We’ve really had our day.” Niall replied.
“What are your plans now?”
“Eleanor and I are going back to the UK. We came out here to be with Maddie and Harry and to make our band work but now that it’s over we’re going home.” Louis answered. Minus 4 people we adore.
“Perrie and I are also going home. Our families are back in the UK and we miss them a lot so we’ve decided it’s best to go now.” Zayn announced. Minus 7 people we adore.
“Maddie and I are staying out here. Maddie loves living near her family and the kids love it out here too.” I joined in.
“Danielle and I are leaving and going home. It’s best for Leah growing up with all of her family around her instead of out here with only us.” Liam said. Minus 10 people we adore.
“And Belle and I are staying out here. Belle has really missed this place when she left over 10 years ago and now she’s back she doesn’t want to go again. My family understand and we’re happy here.” Niall finished.
“So are you going to stay friends or are you going your separate ways and that’s it?” A reporter questioned. Why would you even ask that? After spending the majority of 18 years together, do you really think we’d just abandon each other?
“We’re definitely going to stay friends. We’ve basically lived together for the last 18 years. We don’t want this to end but we need to. We’re getting older now and we have more responsibilities. Harry has 5 children and needs to be a dad to them more than a pop star. We’ll all keep in touch and Harry and Niall still have their houses in the UK so they can always come back and visit us.” Liam replied. This is so hard. It’s been killing Maddie inside. She’s going to lose her 3 brothers and her 3 best friends, as well as the 4 godchildren, she’s everyone’s godmother. I’m losing 6 siblings. It’s hard for all of us doing this. I got up from my chair and went back to the room behind the hall.
“What are you doing? Get back out there!” Maddie pushed me.
“I can’t. This is so hard. We’re losing so much. We’re going our separate ways after 18 years of being together and I can’t do this. I love them boys! I can’t just let them go.” I said.
“You’re not! You heard Liam. We can always go back and visit them. Now get back out there!” She pushed me again. I walked past her and sat down.
Maddie’s P.O.V
I sighed and walked out to where everyone was.
“I’m really sorry. This is all hitting him so hard. He doesn’t want to leave these guys. They’ve been together for ages and they’re family to each other now.” I said.
“We’ll be back in a minute.” Louis said and got up followed by the others.
Harry’s P.O.V
“C’mon mate. We’re going back to the UK. It’s not that bad. You can come and visit all the time! We’re going to keep in touch. It’s just like when we were on a break from work years ago. It doesn’t matter if this is the end of One Direction because it isn’t the end of our friendship!” Louis said. I sat in silence for a few minutes before getting up and walking back to the reporters. We all sat down again and I apologised. This is so hard for me.
“How do the girls feel about this? They’re all best friends and they’re basically splitting up too.”
“They aren’t taking it nearly as bad as we are. They know they have to be strong for us but it’s just so hard to do this. We’re meant to be together. We’re brothers.” Zayn answered. We answered a few more questions and then it got to the last one.
“Do you have anything you want to say to your fans?”
“We want to say a massive thank you for supporting us for the last 18 years. It’s been a rollercoaster ride to get here and it’s amazing to have so many people looking up to you. We also want to say sorry but we need to do this. They must have seen it coming because we’ve certainly been through a lot during the last couple of years, with Maddie running away and Eleanor and Louis losing a baby. We’ve been under so much stress and it’s just come as a massive reality check to us and we know now that this is it. This is the end. The end of One Direction. But we’ll always be your boys. We love you all.” Liam said and we all stood up and walked out of the hall again.
That, was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It was the worst. Maddie ran to me as soon as we got back and hugged me.
“It’ll be okay baby, I’m here.” She said and I started to cry into her shoulder. I can’t stand the fact that I’m about to lose these boys. Maddie hasn’t even moved back in yet. She claims that it’s her dad not letting her but it isn’t. I asked him. She’s too scared yet. The boys go home tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day that I lose my family. My brothers. I pulled away from Maddie and we went home to the kids who Isabelle had kindly agreed to look after. “Thanks Iz, see you soon,” Maddie hugged her and she left. Maddie went to the twins and hugged them while I just sat down on the couch with my head in my hands. “I’m gonna go home, but I’ll see you tomorrow at 9am okay?” Maddie said. I nodded and she said goodbye to the children and left. I hugged the kids and we all sat and watched TV until I put them to bed and went to bed myself. I hate this. I hate it.

I actually cried writing this chapter, it's just so sad to think that one day this may really happen.
I didn't get 5sos tickets today so I'm bummed but I'm getting a 3DS tomorrow (don't judge) so I'm bummed and happy at the same time :/

Day 62

I HAVE DECIDED I AM WRITING A SEQUEL TO THIS, IT WILL BE TWO YEARS ON AND NEITHER OF THEM WILL BE FAMOUS ANYMORE BUT I STILL WANT TO WRITE IT. I HOPE YOU WILL READ.
