Overworked

-3 hours later-
The party is over now. Maddie left with Freya and Amelia for the night just over an hour ago. She still looked upset. I’m not sure whether it was what I said to her or seeing Louis and Eleanor how they are. I don’t know how they keep strong for Kayleigh and Sam really. They really wanted that baby. Emma left a few minutes ago, leaving me with Brooklyn, Adam and Melissa.
“Dad, can we play on the Xbox?” Adam asked.
“Yeah sure, I’ll leave you guys to it.” I stood up only to be pulled back down by Brooklyn.
“You’re not going anywhere, Dad, we love you but you’re being an idiot lately. You never spend any time with us, you’re always with Emma. It’s Lis’ birthday for god sake. She doesn’t want to play on the Xbox on her birthday. She wants to spend time with her family. Including Mum and the twins but you can’t be in the same room as Mum without hurting her. She was literally crying saying goodbye to us and we know you said something to her. She still loves you Dad, she told us. We asked her if she did and she replied, “I’ll always love him, he just doesn’t love me. But I’m okay with that.” When we know clearly she isn’t. She misses you and you miss her. I’m 12, I understand these things. You might think you’re fooling us with Emma but we hate her for 3 reasons. 1, she wants you for your money, 2, she doesn’t treat us well, when you left us with her the other week she sat talking on her phone all day, and 3, she’s not Mum. You don’t love her; yeah she might make you happy but not as happy as Mum makes you. Just get Mum back. Please, for everyone.” Brooke said.
“Your mum doesn’t want me. I screw everything up. Jacob can give her a better life. I don’t want any of you getting married when you’re only 21, you shouldn’t do it. We rushed into this. Your mum got pregnant and after she had Brooke we got married pretty much straight away. We split up a few times along the way but we always made it back, until this time. You’re right, Emma doesn’t make me AS happy as your mum but your mum was my first proper girlfriend, she treated me normally and I loved her from the start. We moved too quickly and now we’re regretting it but we got you and the twins out of it so it can’t be that bad. We love each other, we just can’t be together. I’m sorry.” I explained. We spoke for a while and then I took my phone out of my pocket and went on Twitter.
“@Harry_Styles: You know you’ve fucked up when your 12 year old gives you a 20 minute lecture :/”
I waited for a few minutes and got some replies.
“@EmmaHabley: Well this is awkward...”
Fuck Emma. You just can’t help not getting involved.

“I’m going upstairs for a sec, you be good.” I told the kids and walked upstairs. I got to my room and dialled Maddie’s number.
“What do you want?” She snapped.
“To apologise for Emma. She doesn’t know when to shut up.” I sighed.
“No she doesn’t.”
“And I’m sorry. I fucked up your life. I know it. But Maddie, I still love you.” I told her.
“Don’t. Like you said, I’m with Jake. Leave it alone Harry. Plus, I know what you said to Louis, El and Liam. If that’s love what the fuck is hate?”
“What did I say to Louis and El?” I questioned.
“You said I should have been in a mental hospital. It hurts to hear that Harry. Honestly, I want to love you so much. But you just mess with my head and heart so I give up with you. I’m sorry. I’m busy. Got to go.” She said.
“I’m sorry. Again. I love you.” I replied and she sighed and hung up. Then my phone beeped.

Her xoxo’s make me gag. I don’t want Emma. I want Maddie but I’m going to have to put up with Emma for now. Maddie is with Jacob, she’s not my girl anymore, she’s his, and to be honest, that makes me so fucking annoyed.

I went back down to the kids and told them and they just groaned and went down to the playroom. The doorbell went and I opened it.
“Hey,” Emma said going in to kiss me but I turned my face. “Nice rejection. Always good,” She muttered and walked inside.
“What you said was totally inappropriate; she was depressed for days after that article came out. I love her Emma. I love her more than I’ll ever love anyone. I’m just lying to myself saying I don’t. I don’t want you Emma. My kids hate you. I like you, but you’re not for me. That’s Maddie and only Maddie. So I’m sorry but we’re finished.” I said. She looked hurt but then it changed to anger.
“Fuck you, I don’t need you anyway. I don’t need a pathetic guy who is still in love with his ex, even though she’s moved on.” She said and walked out slamming the door. I went down to the kids and told them and they cheered. It was funny to see. I went back on Twitter, no doubt Emma has tweeted.

“@StylesUpdates: Emma was just seen storming out of Harry’s house and then tweeted about being single so we think they broke up.”

I laughed at her making a joke out of this and put my phone away to play with the children.
“Haz?” I heard Niall call from upstairs after about 15 minutes.
“Basement,” I replied. He ran down the stairs and basically jumped on me. “What’s up with you?” I questioned.
“You got rid of the bitch! I’ve got my best mate back.” He said.
“Niall, language,” I looked over at the kids.
“Whatever, Brooklyn tweeted bitch,” He laughed.
“Yeah and she’s in trouble because of it.” I told him.
“Well I’m glad that you finally came to your senses. Why?”
“Because Emma was totally out of order and I called Maddie to apologise and said I still love her and she said she still loves me. I miss her Ni. I love her.”
“We know you do, and I have some good news.” He answered.
“Which is?”
“El and Louis aren’t moping about anymore. They know that it happened for a reason and they’re happy, well as happy as they can be, again.”
“That’s amazing. They’ve been like that for months.” I said and Niall looked at his phone and frowned.
“What’s up?” I asked. He handed me his phone and started reading.
“One Direction splitting up? The lads have been through a lot lately with Harry, 33, breaking up with Maddie and Louis, 35, and wife Eleanor losing their baby at 6 months gone. Niall, Zayn and Liam have been stuck between awkwardness after having to choose between their best mate or the girl that they’ve donned their sister for the last 13 years. Louis hasn’t left his house in months and no one really knows if the man band will survive. When asked about this situation, former Little Mix singer Perrie, replied: “Yeah it’s awkward between the boys especially with Harry because all of us girls really love Maddie and Belle is her best friend from home, me, Danielle and Eleanor all have our own connections with her and the boys have been drifting apart because we don’t want to be around Harry. Then when Eleanor and Louis lost the baby they were devastated and haven’t spoken to many of us. I honestly don’t know where the lads stand but I’m sure they’ll tell you all soon. Yeah they have been drifting apart but they’ve been doing this for 17 years, give them a break. They don’t want to give up but they will eventually, they all have families now and I know for a fact that we don’t want them to keep doing this because they’re hurting themselves more than anyone.” It’s suspected that the lads will announce that they’re splitting up soon and it will be the end of the man band that took the world by storm.”
Just because of Maddie and I. I gave Niall his phone back.
“You need to sort things out with Maddie man.” He said and got up.
“I know I do.”

Notes

I'm sure this chapter will make some of you very very happy. But Emma will be back, whether it's for good or bad I'm not saying but she is going to be back. What's going to happen to Maddie and Jacob now that Harry has dumped Emma? Is Maddie going to get back with Harry? Comment your ideas and I'll update again tomorrow :)
