Overworked

Harry’s P.O.V
I watched as my gorgeous wife painted Brooklyn’s room. It’s just going to be pink with a darker pink wall. She’s decided that she wants a Victoria’s Secret – PINK themed room. I’m not sure what to think really but my little girl is growing up. It was going to happen sometime. “You could help you know,” Maddie turned around.
“I’m enjoying the view.” I laughed at Maddie in one of my old t-shirts and some ripped jeans.
“I’m gonna slap you in a minute.” She groaned.
“I did Adam’s room!” I argued. I knew I was annoying her by standing and watching but it’s too good a show.
“You painted like 2 bits of wall, it wasn’t the whole thing, and I still had to go over it because you can’t bloody paint.” She laughed and poked me. I held my heart and pouted pretending to be hurt and she laughed. “Plus, I did Lis’ too.” She said, trying to prove that she’s contributed more.
“Love, if I remember correctly, it was me who actually bought this house, and you’re the artist.” I kissed her cheek.
“And I love you very much for that but can you at least go and help Adam unpack instead of watching? I’ll be done in like an hour.” She said and I nodded. I went to Adam’s room and he was sitting on the floor looking through things.
“Look at this dad!” He pointed at something and I went over to it. It was a picture of me and him when he was little.
“I remember your mum taking that photo.” I told him and sat looking through the photos. “Where did you get these anyway?” I asked.
“Mum gave me them and said I could look through them and see if I wanted to put any on the wall.” He explained and found another picture; it was of our group before Brooklyn. Maddie was pregnant but you could barely see her bump. “When was this?” He questioned pointing at it.
“About 12 years ago. Your mum was just pregnant with your sister.” I replied. He nodded and carried on looking through them. When we finished we started unpacking and then Maddie came in.
“Brooklyn’s room is done but it’s gonna take all night to dry so she’s staying in the spare bedroom tonight.” She said.
“Okay baby, I found a really old picture of us.” I laughed and turned back to the page.
“Oh my god, that was ages ago. It was in Liam’s David Beckham phase!” She said and Adam and I both laughed. Maddie left again and went downstairs.
“You ready to look at schools tomorrow?” I asked Adam.
“What’s even the point? We all know we’re gonna end up at mum’s old schools.” He said.
“I know mate, but your mum wants to look, and if she’s happy, you can do more things without getting into trouble.” I told him and he perked up.
“Okay!” He laughed and I stood up.
“I’m gonna go and play football, you coming?” I asked him picking up the ball in the corner of his room.
“Don’t steal my ball! But yeah.” He ran to me and I held it above my head and walked downstairs with him jumping for it.
“Harry, give him his ball back.” Maddie shook her head at me and I sighed and gave it back. I heard Eleanor and Louis laughing and went into the kitchen where Maddie was sitting with them.
“What’s funny?” I looked at them, confused. Louis made a whip sound and pretended to use a whip. “Oh shut up.” I sighed.
“But its true though isn’t it Harry?” Maddie came over.
“Yes honey.” I told her and Eleanor and Louis burst out laughing again.
“Well we all know who wears the trousers in your relationship.” Louis snickered.
“Shut up.” Eleanor said to him and he stopped making Maddie and I laugh.
“And in yours, Louis, welcome to the whipped club,” I smirked and Maddie kissed my cheek and told me to go and play with Adam and Sam. “Why are the two professional football players sitting in the kitchen and not playing?” I called.
“Soccer!” Maddie argued.
“Stop being so damn American.” Louis said and I heard a slapping sound. “Your wife’s fucking harsh.” Louis said as he emerged from the kitchen holding his arm.
“I take it she hit you?” I laughed and kicked the ball at Sam.
“Yeah, and it bloody hurt.” He complained and went to tackle the ball from his son.
“Louis! Control your language.” Eleanor scolded from the kitchen and Louis made a face at the door. I laughed and we carried on playing.
Maddie’s P.O.V
“I’m so glad it’s not the other way round and I’m not whipped.” I laughed with Eleanor.
“Why would it be? The guys want sex so they know to listen to us.” She said.
“I heard that!” Harry shouted.
“It’s true!” I shouted back and Brooklyn and Lis came down.
“One of the twins is crying.” Brooke told me. I nodded and went to see to them while they talked with Eleanor. I got up to the nursery and picked up Amelia.
“Hey gorgeous, why are you grumpy?” I asked rocking her. She fell asleep in my arms and I presume Freya woke her up. I took her downstairs and sat at the breakfast bar with her.
“She’s so adorable. It makes me want another one.” Eleanor said playing with Melia. Lis and Brooklyn went out into the garden.
“Don’t do it. Just don’t. They’re such hard work.” I sighed.
“I know, Louis wouldn’t let me anyway, he’s a dick.” She said and took Melia from me.
“Cheers love, but we’re not having another baby.” Louis came into the kitchen.
“Why not? They’re so adorableee.” El whined.
“Because, baby, we have sex for enjoyment and not to make babies.” Louis said and started kissing her neck.
“Give me my baby back and then go and have sex somewhere else. Just not in my kitchen.” I took Amelia back and walked out into the garden.
“Look after Kay and Sam for us? We’re going home for a bit.” Louis poked his head outside.
“Don’t paralyse her.” I warned and he laughed and went home.
