Overworked

Harry’s P.O.V
-Skip 1 day-
We woke up to the kids running into our room.
“Santa’s been!!” They shouted and Maddie rolled over covering her ears. I laughed at her and hugged the kids. I sat up and they all sat down on the bed.
“Let’s leave grumpy to sleep,” I said to them.
“Hey!” Maddie said and we all laughed.
“Go and get dressed and me and Mummy will be down in a minute.” I told them and they ran off. “Mads, get up.” I said getting out of bed.
“Urgh, do I have to?” She groaned.
“Yep, it’s Christmas.” I reminded her and she gradually got out of bed. She went into the bathroom and got ready and I followed after. I got dressed and went downstairs with Maddie.
“Can we open some presents?” Lis jumped up and down.
“Breakfast first.” I told the kids and they went into the kitchen. “Should we do the kids in the morning and adults in the afternoon?” I asked Maddie.
“Yeah whatever,” She went into the kitchen and helped the kids with their breakfast. I went outside and into Gemma and Ashton’s room. They were making out and I cringed.
“Urm, please don’t do that here. It might escalate into something else. But I want to talk to you guys, Mum and Robin.” I said.
“Yeah yeah, and okay, give us a minute and we’ll be in Mum’s room.” Gemma replied. I nodded and went into Mum and Robin’s room. They were sitting on the bed already dressed.
“I need to talk to you guys about something but I want Gem and Ashton to be here too so they’re gonna come in here.” I said and they came in.
“What do you want to talk about Harry?” Robin asked.
“Urm, I don’t really know how to say this, but I might be moving to California.” I told them.
“What?” Mum said.
“Maddie wants to move back there and I want her to be able to. She misses it a lot and I know how much she wants to go back.” I explained.
“What about the kids, the boys?” Gemma asked.
“The kids will be fine with it but I haven’t said anything to the boys yet. I know it means that it’s going to be the end of One Direction but it’s been a long time coming. I want the best for Maddie and this is what she wants.”
“When?” Ashton questioned.
“In 3 months. Maddie will have the twins and then a month after we move over there. You’ll understand more when you see her present.” I said.
“Well, I’m not very happy about it but I know you’re doing it for Maddie and that’s fine. Just don’t sell this house and come back sometimes yeah? And check with the boys, they may even turn around and say they want to come with you.” Mum advised.
“Okay, thanks. And Merry Christmas.” I hugged them all and left them to get ready.
“Where have you been?” Maddie asked handing the kids their breakfast.
“I was talking to my mum.” I told her and she nodded and went to the cupboard. I watched as she got some glasses out and filled them up with juice and took them to the kids.
“They want to open their presents soon so I’m going to go and wake everyone up.” Maddie said. I nodded and she went upstairs. Matthew ran inside with Gemma and Ashton following close behind.
“Has Santa been?” Matt asked excitedly. He always seems to be excited.
“Yep, but have some breakfast before we open any presents.” I said and gave him a bowl of cereal and some juice. He sat at the table and ate with the others. Gabrielle, Rob and Faye came down and had something to eat and then Brooke and Carl came down with Aimee. We all sorted ourselves out and went into the living room which was filled with presents. The kids ran to the presents and found one belonging to them. Maddie sat next to me and then the rest of the adults sat around on the couches.
“Can I open it??” Adam said holding a present.
“Yeah go on then.” Maddie said and he opened a remote control car. We spent a couple of hours opening some presents and then Maddie and I started to cook dinner. We cooked it and served it to everyone. We ate and after dinner went back into the living room. I went upstairs to get Maddie’s presents. I got back downstairs and sat down next to her and handed her her first present. She opened it and looked confused when there was a car key in it.
“Go and look in the garage.” I said and she stood up and opened the garage door. She gasped when she saw the red Ferrari that I had gotten her.
“Oh my god. Thank you so much.” She said.
“Anything for you, but you’re not allowed to drive it until you’ve had the babies.” I said and everyone laughed. She shut the garage door and sat back down next to me. Everyone exchanged a few more presents and then I gave Maddie her second one. She opened it and it was 6 tickets to California, 4 children and 2 adults.
“I’ll have to get another one for the other baby but they’re for March next year.” I told her.
“Why?” She asked.
“Open this one.” I gave her another present and she opened it. It was a house brochure and a key.
“Huh?”
“When I was on tour, I bought a house in California. I know how much you want to move back there so here you go, we move next March.” I told her. She looked shocked but happy at the same time.
“Thank you so much!” She hugged me.
“No problem, I love you.”
“I love you too.” She kissed me. Mum gave us our present next. I opened it and it was a voucher for any baby stuff that we want.
“Thanks Mum.” I got up and kissed her on the cheek.
“Well you’re gonna need it.” She laughed. Maddie gave me her present for me next.
“It’s from me and the kids.” She said. I opened it and it was a book. The cover read: ‘The Styles’’ I opened it and there were a lot of pictures of me and Maddie when we first met. There were about 3 pages of them. The next page was titled: ‘Brooklyn Faye Styles’. There were pictures of the ultrasounds and of her as a baby. There were about 10 pages of her as she’s grown up. The next page was called: ‘Adam Thomas Styles’. Again there were pictures of the ultrasounds and of him as a baby as well as growing up. Then it was: ‘Melissa Gemma Styles’. With the same kind of pictures again. The pages after that were called: ‘Styles No.6 and No.7’. It was pictures of the twins’ ultrasounds. There were a few blank pages for pictures of the twins and then there were some handwritten messages.
“Harry, I love you with all my heart. You have always been there for me throughout anything. You’ve put up with me for 12 years and I love you so much for that. You changed my life and without you I wouldn’t have the most amazing family in the world. You mean everything to me. You’re my world. Love forever and always, Madeline Aimee STYLES.”
I smiled at her and she smiled back.
“Dad, you’re the best dad in the world. You’re the best role model ever and you’re amazing. I love you so much. You and mum love each other a lot and everyone can see that. Throughout the last 11 years you’ve had other children, (which I’m not very happy about by the way) but you’ve never forgotten about me. You spend as much time with us as you can and you’re amazing at everything. I love you Dad, Brooklyn.”
There were notes from Adam and Lis as well and on the next page were notes from the boys.
“Hazza, you’re my best friend. We were thrown together and didn’t know a single thing about each other and now we’re best friends. It’s surreal really. I want to thank you for 5 things. 1) Thank you for introducing me to my gorgeous wife. Without you I wouldn’t be with her. 2) Thank you for giving me another sister. Maddie is my little sister and I love her so much. 3) Thank you for helping me have two of the best kids in the world. Without you and Maddie they wouldn’t be here. 4) Thank you for giving me 3 gorgeous godchildren. And 5) Thank you for your friendship. I love you man. Louis.”
I decided I’d read the rest later and shut the book.
“You’re the best.” I kissed Maddie. I got up and hugged the kids too.
“Thanks guys. I love you.” I told them.
“Love you too Dad.” They said and we continued to exchange presents. We got to the second last present which was for Maddie from her parents. She opened it revealing a dress, handbag and a pair of high heels.
“Thank you!” She squealed. I looked closer at them and realised that they were the ones that she’s wanted for ages. She hugged her parents and I gave her the last present. She opened it slowly and smiled when she saw what it was. It’s a photo frame with all different pictures in it, some of her when she was younger and some with me and the children and right in the middle, specially placed, is her promise ring. “Thank you.” She smiled.
“You’re welcome.” I kissed her on the cheek. We all sat and talked until it got late and the kids went up to bed. Maddie and I decided to go up to our room too. Maddie sat on the bed reading the house brochure whilst I got ready for bed.
“Baby, are you sure you want to do this? All your friends and family are here in England. We don’t have to move.” Maddie said.
“As long as I have you and the kids I’ll be okay. What you want is what matters to me and I’m not selling this house so we can always come back.” I told her and sat next to her on the bed.
“I love you, but the boys aren’t going to be very happy, you’re leaving them.”
“I love you too and I know but Mum said maybe they’re turn around and say they want to come with us, I mean, they could.” I said.
“Okay, but we tell them on New Year.”
“Yep.” I got into bed properly. She wrapped her arms around me and snuggled into my chest.
“I’ve missed this so much.” She whispered and I smiled at her.
“Well, I’m here now and will be from now on. I love you Mads.” I said and she fell asleep on my chest.
