Overworked

Maddie's P.O.V

I walked into the room where Brooklyn was getting ready and she smiled at me.
"Hey Mum," She said.
"Hey gorgeous, how you feeling?" I sat in the chair next to her.
"Nervous, but I'm excited." She told me. My baby girl is getting married today. She's 23 years old. I can't believe how fast she's grown up, it seems like just yesterday when I was having to wash the paint off of her and change her diapers. My baby girl is all grown up. We had a chat for a while and then Lis, Frey and Amelia came to get ready. Lis is 18 now, and the twins are 12. Harry and I didn't have another baby, in fact we did quite the opposite, we got divorced. We got divorced 8 years ago now, and we're both remarried. Harry had a son with his wife Chelsea, and I had a son with my husband Aaron, my son is called Tyler, and Harry's Leo. Tyler is 1 and Leo is 3.
"By the way, Paige isn't coming. I thought she was but Eve decided to say she wasn't allowed at like 8 this morning, sorry." I apologised just as the door opened again, and Harry walked in, making me stand up. "I'll see you in a bit gorgeous," I kissed Brooklyn's cheek and she sighed.
"It's been 8 years and you still can't stand to be in the same room as each other." She shook her head, laughing to herself.
"Brooke, don't start this again." Harry said.
"It's my wedding day Dad, all I'm asking is for you and Mum to get along for one day, it's not even 24 hours. Put your problems aside and enjoy your daughter's wedding day, and get used to it because you've got another 4 weddings to go to yet. You're the ones who had 5 kids, and now you have to put your problems aside for those kids, that's all I'm asking." She said to us. Both of us nodded, feeling quite ashamed that our daughter called us out on our behaviour.
"I really do need to get going though, I've still got to go back and pick up Aaron and Tyler." I reminded Brooke and she nodded.
"Okay, I'll see you soon." Brooklyn said to me and I smiled slightly and left the room.

Harry's P.O.V

I watched as Maddie walked out of the room and then turned to Brooklyn.
"How are you feeling?" I asked her.
"Good, is Will here?" The guy Brooklyn is getting married to is a very kind man named Will. I'm more than happy with her choice. They've been together since they were 15 and they really are made for each other. I'm glad I can give my princess away to someone I know I can trust with her heart.
"Yeah, Adam and him are getting ready now so it's nearly time for you to put your dress on sweetheart." I smiled at her.
"The girls are ready, it's just me left now," She looked over at the rest of my daughters, and my soon-to-be daughter in law standing on the other side of the room. Adam proposed to Kayleigh Tomlinson last year and they're getting married in October. It's currently June so two of my children are getting married in the space of 6 months. It's strange really, there are 20 years between all of my children. Brooklyn's 23, Adam 22, Lis is 18, the twins are 12 and my youngest, Leo is 3. 6 children with 20 years between them, it's mad. If anyone had told 16 year old me I would have 6 children at the age of 44 and had been part of the biggest boyband of the century, I wouldn't have believed them, but that's how my life went.
I've also had 2 gorgeous wives, Maddie and Chelsea. To be honest, I think Maddie filing for divorce was the best move but I'll never forget how she did it. She walked into the house and came into the kitchen saying 'We need to talk'. She'd moved out for at least a month before so I knew it was coming. When I refused to sign the papers, she broke down in tears and started saying how I'd ruined her life and the least I could do was get her out of the trainwreck of a marriage she was in. That did it, we told the kids and I signed the papers. 3 years later, she got married to Aaron and became Madeline Fletcher and another 3 years later she was expecting his child, it was strange, seeing her be happy with someone else, but it made me happy that she was finally happy, even if it wasn't with me. I was happy too, I found Chelsea and we got married and had our son, so both of us lead separate lives now, only really coming together for events like this. Lis lives on campus at Leeds University, where she decided to go to study Medicine. The twins live with Maddie, and stay with me at weekends, while Maddie and Aaron look after his daughter Paige and obviously Tyler. Our setup works for us, and it may upset the kids that we can't stay in the same room, but it's better that way. We've moved on, but there are still hard feelings. Perhaps it was because she said I'd ruined her life or purely just because we resent each other for wasting 16/17 years of our lives fighting with each other, when we just got divorced in the end anyways, but it works, it doesn't matter how, it just works.
About an hour later, I was leading my beautiful daughter down the aisle towards her future husband. The girls were following behind us and almost too soon we reached the alter. I handed Brooklyn over, kissing her cheek before making my way to my seat next to Chelsea. I took her hand and then looked towards my daughter.
"We have been invited here today to witness and celebrate the uniting in marriage of Brooklyn Faye Styles and William Joseph Palmer." The minister did his introduction.
Brooke and Will exchanged vows, and then rings, before getting to the important bit.
"Do you, William Joseph Palmer, take Brooklyn Faye Styles to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The minister asked Will and he smiled at Brooke before declaring,
"I do," The minister then turned to Brooklyn.
"Do you, Brooklyn Faye Styles, take William Joseph Palmer to be your lawfully wedded husband?" He asked her and she smiled at Will before answering,
"I do."
"By the power vested in me by the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride." The minister announced and Will leant in and kissed Brooklyn, gently but passionately. We all began to clap and I could see Maddie crying, and I'm not going to lie I'm on the verge of tears too. Once they'd pulled away, the photographer asked us to take photos. First it was all of us with them both, then it was Will's parents and his sister Tiffany with them. By all of us, I mean Maddie, Adam, Lis, Freya, Amelia and I. We look like we're still a family but we're really not.
Once they were done taking pictures, they signed the marriage license and then I went over to them.
"My princess is all grown up, congratulations." I hugged Brooklyn.
"Thanks Dad," She smiled, hugging me back. Then Kayleigh came over, practically squealing.
"You're not a Styles anymore and in October I'm going to be one." She laughed.
"You know how it is Kayleigh, we have to replace the ones we lose." I joked and Brooklyn pushed me.
"Just because I'm Mrs Palmer now doesn't mean I'm not a Styles anymore." She said.
"Yes it does, you're a Palmer now," Kayleigh told her.
"You're not regretting it already I hope," Will came over and took her hand.
"Of course not, Dad's just trying to tell me that he's going to replace me with Kayleigh." Brooke told him and he laughed.
"His loss is my gain babe," Will kissed her.
"Anywayyy, I'll see you at the reception princess." I kissed Brooke's cheek and went over to Chelsea who was holding Leo. He held his arms out, squealing Daddy and I took him from Chels. "Hey little man," I tickled him, making him squirm.
"Daddy stopppp," He laughed, clutching onto me more. His laugh is gorgeous, melodic, it brightens my day. "Is Bwookey mawwied now?" He asked me.
"Yeah, my big girl is all grown up." I smiled at him and as I walked out of the church I saw Maddie hugging Aaron. I took Chelsea's hand with my free one and walked towards where the car is waiting for Brooke and Will. They walked out of the church hand in hand, getting confetti thrown all over them as they made their way to the car. Chelsea gave Leo some and he threw it right on Will's head, making me laugh. They got into the car and everyone waved them off before dispersing to cars. I saw Maddie say something to Aaron before walking over in my direction. I handed Leo to Chels and went to talk to her.
"Hey, I just wanted to say congratulations, our baby girl's married." She smiled.
"Yeah, it's strange." I laughed and our conversation turned awkward. "Anyway, we better get going, Leo probably needs the toilet." I made an excuse and she nodded, before walking back towards Aaron's car. I got into the car and turned on the ignition as Chelsea pulled her seatbelt on.
"What was that about?" She asked.
"I don't know really, it was weird."
"You haven't spoken except from working out who has the kids when in 8 years, it's going to be weird." She pointed out and I nodded in agreement.

Maddie's P.O.V

I got into the car and immediately went onto Twitter.
"@MAFletcher: Congratulations to my gorgeous girl @Brooklyn_Faye (Palmer) and @WillPalmer29 on their wedding, love you both and @AaronFletch and I wish you all the happiness in the world :*" I saw that Adam had tweeted too.
"@AdamStyles: Congrats to my sister @Brooklyn_Faye and my brother in law @WillPalmer29 on tying the knot today, our turn next @KayleighJTommo :D"
Within the 20 minutes it took to drive to the reception, 'Congratulations Brooklyn and Will' was trending #3 worldwide, which is mad.
Out of curiousity, I searched M Fletcher. One of the tweets read: 'I still can't get over seeing @MAFletcher instead of @MAStyles'. Another said 'Maddie, Aaron and Tyler Fletcher are like the cutest little family, even cuter than the Styles' were before Haddie got divorced'. I favourited that one. I'm so much happier now and I love it when the fans recognise that. We got to the reception and all went in, taking our places at the tables. Adam, being the best man, stood up and took the microphone.
"Please join me in standing and welcoming Mr and Mrs William Palmer!" We all stood up and clapped as they walked in, hand in hand. Brooklyn looks absolutely gorgeous today, more so than usual. The reception flew by, all of us going around, catching up on what's happened since we last saw each other. Aaron and I had to leave quite early considering Tyler was getting tired. I walked over to Brooklyn and she smiled.
"Mummy!" She hugged me and I could tell she was slightly drunk.
"Hey princess, Aaron and I are going to get going because Tyler needs to get to sleep. Congratulations again and I hope you and Will have a great honeymoon." I kissed her cheek.
"Thanks Mum, we'll come and see you when we get back." She let go of me and I said goodbye to Will and the girls before walking off towards Aaron. I'm driving home considering he's had a bit to drink and I know that probably means that I'll be looking after Ty for most of tomorrow but I'll let him off. I left the reception with a huge smile on my face, my princess is married.

Notes

I thought I'd do some of the key events that happen in the kids' lives. I have Adam's wedding written too and I think it's a lot better than this one because it includes more details of what has happened since Harry and Maddie split, and also brings back all of the boys because it's Adam and Kayleigh's wedding.

I hope you like these special chapters as much as I have enjoyed writing them, there will be more than just the two weddings if you guys like them.
