When Nightmares Become Reality

I don’t remember much from last night, I cried for a while and eventually Liz took me to my bedroom, I don’t remember falling asleep. I opened my eyes and seen the sun shining through my curtains. My throat felt dry and my eyes felt swollen. I blinked and waited for my eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness. I looked to my left and saw a note on my pillow.
‘Jazz, sorry to leave you. I’ll be back later tonight though! Don’t forget you have dancing today at 11!

I rubbed my eyes and looked to the clock beside my bed, 10:45. ‘Shit’ I said as I pushed the covers of me and feeling exposed to the cool breeze coming from my open window. I grabbed the towel from my door and ran to the shower.
It was the quickest shower I had ever had; it was my first day teaching at the new dance school, no way was I going to be late. I pulled on a lose tank top and sweat pants and ran out the door grabbing my keys from beside the door.
I reached to the bottom of the stairs hoping that I didn’t make anyone mad with all of the noise I was making and jumped into my car noticing a phone on my passenger seat. I started the car and the phone lit up with a text message from Liam.
‘Niall, where are you man, you’ve got to be at the studio like now!’
Okay, so I have Niall’s phone, and he’s wanted. I opened the message thanking that Niall didn’t have a password to hard. 2580. ‘Liam, it’s Jazz. I have Niall’s phone, he left it in my car yesterday. I don’t know where he is, I’ll drop the phone of later after my dance class’
I locked the phone again and put it in my middle compartment. I drove towards the dance studio and arrived with two minutes to spare. I ran in the studio with a CD in one hand and two phones in the other. I opened the door to be greeted by 13 pairs of eyes staring at me. ‘I’m really sorry guys I kinda slept in. I know, I know. It’s not acceptable and I promise I’ll be here on time next week.’ I walked up to the front of the class where the stereo was and inserted the CD. ‘Okay, so we’re just going to learn a kinda simple hip hop dance today’ I pressed play and the music started. ‘Ready guys, I’ll break it down for you. One, two, three, four’ I counted in.
The dance lesson ended quickly, and we had mastered the first half of the dance. They were a talented bunch of kids. We all said good bye and I walked out last, reaching my car. I pulled out Niall’s phone to see if he had gotten a reply but it was all twitter notification.
I opened my door and got in seeing some girls in my mirror, they seemed to be running franticly towards me, I pulled my door closed and buckled my seat belt. I started my car and I heard a knock on the window from one of the girls running towards me, they looked innocent enough. I rolled down my window.
‘Hello?’ I said turning down my stereo.
‘Hi!’ the knocked squealed. ‘I’m Madison and this is Tess, Sarah and Penny’ she said pointed to each one of them one at a time, I nodded my head to each one of them. ‘We seen pictures of you with Niall yesterday and we want to know if you guys are dating?’ she said smiling and holding her phone up, I could tell she was recording me. I didn’t want to say anything bad in Niall’s case.
‘Uhh, no. We’re just friends. Well, not even friends really, he just took me out.’
‘Okay good’ this time the girl on the left spoke, Tess I think. ‘Cause if you were dating him, you’d have to deal with me and all the other Directioners out there, because you look like the type of girl who breaks boy’s hearts and we don’t want out special snowflakes heart to be broken.’ She moved up closer to the window knocked the girl with the camera back. ‘Got it?’ she said with a threatening tone.
‘Sure’ I said smiling. ‘I mean, if you were nicer I could have taken your numbers down and put them in Niall’s phone’ I held up Niall’s phone. ‘Which I happen to have right now.’
I saw the girl named Penny gasp which made me smile more. ‘Well, sorry to tell you guys but I’ve got to go. It was lovely chatting with all of you. I hope we can do it again sometime’ I said in the most sarcastic voice I could. I rolled up my window and turned my radio up again. I got to the end of the street and looked back to them; they were still standing there; shocked. I think they felt as though they were threatening, but what they didn’t realize was that I was a strong girl and I could handle stupid people like that. I had no reaction negative comments and death threats ever since my mother died, and my dad blamed me every day, told me I shouldn’t be alive and he abused me all the time. I laughed to myself as I turned the corner.
When I got home and successfully parked my car, I opened the door and locked it behind me. I reached the door to be greeted by a man in a hood; obviously hiding from prying eyes. ‘Umm, are you waiting for someone?’ I asked looking at him trying to see under the hood.
‘Actually yes, I was waiting for you’ the familiar voice said, he pulled of his hood to reveal his curls and smile.
‘Oh, hi Harry, did Niall send you to pick up his phone?’ I said unlocking and opening the door. We started to walk up the flights of stairs.
‘Actually no, Danielle sent me to ask you if you wanted to come over to her house for a girl’s night or whatever you call it.’ He shrugged. ‘they boys and I have to do a surprise performance at some place tonight and she and Eleanor want you to come over.’
I bit my lip. ‘Uhh, I have a roommate you know, I can-‘ I said reaching the top of the stairs hearing giggling coming from inside the apartment.
‘Shh, she’s coming up. I heard Liz say and a rustle of movement. I opened the door half looking through my eyes, hoping not to see too much. I was greeted with Liz and some guy staring at a blank TV screen. ‘Hi Jazz, who’s this?’ She said looking behind me.
‘Umm, this is Harry and Harry this is my roommate Elizabeth. Liz, I’m going to stay out tonight, I can see you're preoccupied so I’m sure you won’t even notice I’m gone. I started to walk off to my room. ‘Harry, I’ll just get on some other clothes and stuff and be out in a second.’
He nodded. ‘Okay, I’ll just wait downstairs’ sounding awkward. I walked to my room and picked out some pyjamas and extra clothes for tomorrow, stuffing them into a bag and changing into jeans, singlet and a cardigan. I walked out of my room and saw Liz and the guy kissing. ‘Well, I’ll see you tomorrow some time.’ I said as Liz broke the kiss and blushed.
I walked past them and down the stairs to find Harry singing paper and taking pictures with the four girls from before. Did they follow me?
‘Oh hi Jasmine’ Sarah said looking up from her signed picture.
‘Isn’t it time we go Harry, they’ll be waiting. I said walking past them and getting into the driver’s seat.
‘Yeah’ he said giving the girls one last hug each and walked to the passenger’s seat. He got in and I drove off as fast as I could. ‘I give it about approximately 8 minutes until those photos are all over the web’ I said and he laughed.
‘Probably’ he nodded and I drove faster.
