If you want your readers to be sad, start small. Have your character in a dramatic place. I'm not talking about her breaking up with some guy from one direction, I'm talking about a devastating time in someone's life. Those are the saddest scenes. Some advice: go down deep into that moment. For example, If someone's parent died, think deep. A good way to think of it is what would you do? That would make a sad scene!

I've been there, You know how many stores I ve started? 14. and only like 4 Ive kept, not including the 14 I put up and deleted. Now I just write to write and its a lot more fun the coping to he people to write what they want. Its such a rewarding sense of power when you write the story you want the way you want it instead of what the audience wants, ya know?
