Through The Dark

Sophia's POV

"He kissed you?" Luce whispered excitedly.

I nodded my head, grinning.

"Wait like sexy and passionate or soft and slow?" She asked.

I swatted her arm. "How do you do it with Michael?"

It was her turn to blush. "Both."

"Luce, swear to God you'll be safe." I told her.

"Sophia." Someone said, grabbing my hand.

"Oh. Hi Ash." I smiled.

"Is it true? Have you been lying to me this whole time?" Ashton said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

He took a deep breath. "Don't act stupid with me. Where We Are tour. You're not continuing."

I sighed, putting my hands on my face. "I didn't want to tell you because I knew you would get mad."

"Mad? I'm furious. You can't just drop it all because of the hate you got." Ashton retorted.

"Look, Luce and I got things figured out. We're opening a store downtown. I'll be fine." I persisted.

"But will I be?" He murmured.

"I can't hear you." I asked.

"Nothing." He grunted, walking away. His fists clenched and unclenched, before being thrusted into his pockets.

"I'll call you. Or whatever." I continued.

"You don't get it, do you?" He chuckled.

We stopped walking.

"Get what?" I said.

"You're throwing this all away. Your friendships, your career. Me." Ashton snapped.

"What about you? I have a feeling you'll be fine without me. We aren't even dating, for a fact!" I snapped back.

As as soon as the words came out, I knew everything changed. The way he looked at me changed.

No longer was the shy grin, the rosy blush, the awkwardness, his laugh. The sparkle in his eyes, gone.

His features morphed into hurt. Hate. Disgust. Betrayal. Pain.

"Ashton, wait." I began.

"Just stop, Sophia. All I've ever wanted was to hear you calling my name, instead of me calling yours. It's all been a damn waste of time. Tell Michael I'll meet them at the airport." He said, brushing past me. He began to run away.

"Ash? Where you going?" Harry and Mikey yelled.

I took of my shoes, and ran after him. The grass was cold and wet. I'm pretty sure I stepped on a slug.

"Ashton. Stop. Don't do this." I yelled.

I tripped over a rock. Lifting my head, I saw him standing nearby, his eyes shut and looking up.

"Got me falling for you. Twice now." I whispered.

"I can't be the one pulling the end of the line while you're doing nothing. I guess this is how it ends." He said.

I stood up, and raised my hand to signal to the others to give us space.

"I'm sorry." I whispered. My hands were shaking as I placed them on either side of his face.

I placed my forehead on his chest.

"I'm sorry." I whispered. My voice broke, and I watched as a few tears dropped onto his shirt.

"I need time. I can't- No, Sophia. I'm done." His voice was low, quiet. Defeated.

"It's okay. I'll do it. I'll call Simon-" I said frantically.

"It's all over before it even began. Goodnight, Sophia." He said. Ashton removed my hands, and dropped them.

I sank to my knees, and watched through my blurry tear filled vision, to see him enter a cab.

"Sophia!" Eric yelled.

They all skidded to a stop beside me.

"What happened?" Niall asked.

"Where'd he go?" Michael said.

Harry and Luce helped me up. Eric handed me my shoes.

"He found out that I'm not going on tour. And he said he was done with chasing after me." I said.

"But the flight." Michael asked. Luce swatted him.

"He'll be there." I sniffled.

"Come here." Eric said. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders, and placed his jacket over.

"I fucked it all up, Eric." I whispered. "All of it."

"Just a little. But I know you. No matter how shirty things are, you always fix it. It's worth it." He reassured me.

It's been a great 4 months, everyone.

I'm not giving TTD up because of the numerous hate I got. Yes, the comments weren't the worst of it. I've gotten a shit load over messages and IG.

I think its best for the story line, to wrap it up.

One reason as well, is that I am starting a new story.
