Spies Of Oak Hills ~Completed~

Chapter 33

Ariella’s POV

As I walked through the halls, fellow students kept addressing me because of my arrival. Many teachers did as well. I only nodded my head symbolizing my gratitude towards their welcoming to me. I walked by the classroom that was once Mr. Watson’s, or Walter’s.

There was now a woman that seemed to be in her early 20’s teaching the class. She seems very young. She had light brown hair and was fairly thin. She was dressed as if she was someone’s secretary. The causal white blouse tucked in a black pencil skirt and black high heels with her hair in a bun. I decide to not go into curiosity mode that would involve me barging into the room and pushing her against the wall, asking her every single question that runs through my mind.

I continued my walk until I found myself in front of the Nurse’s Office. I decided to get my leg checked out in the meantime. I opened the door and walked in. The nurse was focused on something that was displayed on her monitor than me.

“Excuse me?” I asked, gaining her attention.

“Hello Ms. Edwards, it’s nice to see you back in the halls, is there a reason why you are though?” She asked me sweetly.

“Thank you, and yes. During my absence I may have encountered some injuries, one that may need to be examined further by a professional.” I explained to her while showing the scar mark on my leg. She gasped, and closed whatever she was doing on her computer.

“And you have been walking around with that the entire time? Does it hurt?” She asked me while placing me in a wheelchair and wheeling me into one of the Patient Rooms. I got up from the chair and she helped me onto the bed with the white paper on top.

“Yeah I have, I thought that maybe walking on it would make the pain go away. And it sort of helped.”

“Alright. I’m just going to take a couple pictures of your bones and take a look at your muscles that okay?” she asked me. I nodded my head and allowed her to do what she needed to do.

After she finished she told me that I had a glass shard still inside of my leg but she managed to get it out in no time. She gave me medication to take and sent me on my way. I thanked her once more and waved before closing the door behind me. I placed the medication in my pocket.

I walked to the back of the school and stood outside. I breathed in the air and sighed. The sky was slowly turning red and the football players that were practicing on the fields were walking into the locker rooms. They all acknowledged me though and I waved at all the sweaty young men. I walked across the field to the wall that separated the school from the outside world and looked up to find the ledge. I grabbed my medication that I tucked away into my pocket and took two pills, like she said, and began to climb.

Once I got to the top, memories of this location quickly flooded my mind, like every other time that I came this way. I dropped down and began my walk down the familiar pathway. I made it more visible since now I’m the only one that knows the location. Ever since Niall left, I would come here every night, waiting for Niall’s return like he promised.

*Flashback*

After Niall finished singing to me, he put the guitar down and gestured for me to come to him. I scooted over away from the tree and leaned onto his chest as he wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight.

“So how did you find this spot exactly?” I asked him, not taking my eyes off from the view.

“Well, do you see that over there?” he said, pointing down to a campsite not too far into the forest.

“Yeah?”

“That’s where they lads and I would you chill. I wandered around, and I found this place, and immediately thought of you.”

“Niall, you’re being cheesy again.” I said while looking up to him smirking.

“And you love it.” He said pinching my cheek. I scoffed while swatting his hand away.

“Its beautiful here Ni…”

“I know.” But he wasn’t looking out to the horizon. He was looking at me. I rolled my eyes while laughing.

“So we can come here anytime?” I asked him.

“Yeah. You can come on your own as well, but know that I will be right behind you. If you ever find yourself feeling down, come to this tree and without a doubt I will be coming as well.” He said seriously.

“Promise?”

“Always, Princess.”

*End Of Flashback.*

Ever since he left, I came back… Knowing for sure he can’t keep his promise. I was now at the tree and climbed up. I leaned against the tree, looking at the sign that I left up.

Nariella’s Tree

I hung up some Christmas lights a while back, and decided to light them up once its completely dark out. I stay here over night most times and I think that its okay to start again. It won’t be so bad going back to who I was before. I can ditch classes, slug around, become lazy, and I could even-

“For who is this beauty that I see up in this tall tree?” A voice said making me jump. I looked down to see Niall with a blanket in his hand, smirking up at me.
