Road trip gone wrong...Yet so right!

~ Scarlets P.O.V ~ The day was finally here. Where me and my besties would be able to ditch this state and take time for us. 4 years we saved, collecting bottles, working extra shifts at the diner. Just so we can take the trip of our dreams. To see the US and what else was out here to hope there was so much more then the dirt that layes on the grounds of Texas. I craved to feel the wind through my hair while cruising down the path further and further away from this place I will forever call my hometown, but not my dream place.
"Ms.James" I was snapped out of my day dream as the microphone sweetly spoke my last name. A huge smile was placed on one my bestfriends, Gabby. As she nudged my shoulder with hers while clapping with pure joy filled in her body. I smiled back and stood up from my seat walking through the rows of clapping seated graduated students. I held on to my cap to keep it from slipping off my head and with my other hand I held the gown to keep myself from tripping. I was seconds away from being one of the graduates of the class 2014. I couldn't be more happy in that moment.
I took the few steps on the stairs to reach the stage, walking my way to the principle who previously spoke my last name. I could feel myself glowing. I looked out to the crowd and blew a kiss to both of my partners in crime. Arianna continued clapping as she blew one back. She looked gorgeous is her cap and gown. Gabby pretended to catch the kiss then put it to her heart. My eyes filled with happy tears as I turned and put my attention to the lovely lady who was our principle. "I'm so proud of you, Scarlet." She spoke smoothly as I wrapped her in a thank you hug. "Thank you so much, Mrs.Drake." I said. She nodded in response to say your welcome.
An hour passed as I watched everyone come up and collect their deploma cheering for only the people I cared for. I was probly the loudest one in the room when Gabby and Ari got there's. Hell, I even stood up! No one did that ;)...
"I'm so excited for you, honey!" My calls out to me while I'm exciting the building into her arms. "Thanks mom" I whisper into her shoulder then soon after letting go. "Congrats guys!" She says while lunging to hug Arianna and Gabby. "thanks, Mrs.James." Gabby gushed as Ari quickly followed. "Shall we go back to my house and eat celabation cake?" My sweet mom suggested. I looked at my bestfriends already knowing the answer. Arianna still needed to pack and so did gabby. Which was fine with me. "Sorry Mrs.J, but I still need to pack for tommorrow." Gabby explained. "Me too, I have my accessories to do left." Arrianna chuckled as she said that. We all rolled our eyes. Her and her fashion, always wearing some sort of bling. That is part of her personality and I loved her for it. She was her. Just like gabby was
herself to and I was me, that's why we worked. "Of course you must pack those ;)" my mom soonly followed that comment with a playful wink. We all burst with laughter as we went our separate ways. I desparetly wanted to fall fast asleep this moment. I'm wrapped in my bed sheets staring out the window near my bed, looking at the full moon and glowing objects we call stars. I turned to glance at the time my clock showed. 10:52pm. I need to sleep! I thought. But the excitement in me was building by every second we get closer to the next morning. 12 hours! Yay! 12 hours till 10am where Arianna, Gabby, and I will head off in Gabby's old beat up black catilac and just drive. Drive away from this state, these stuck up people and there "Texas ways". We're going to 10 cities but driving through sates twice that amount. That feeling I wished for so long will be felt tomorrow morning. Where I'll see that sign I wanted to see since I was five. The beat up sign that says "Thanks for visiting Texas." The image stayed in my head for just the amount of time it took for me too fall into a peaceful sleep. Thank god, I'll need my sleep for the adventure about to come.
