Unwanted

The cab that I had hailed left me right in front of the campus, which was already bustling with the freshmen arriving and the older students helping out the new ones. I paid the fare and gave the man a tip before dragging out my suitcase, hobbling into the campus, trying not to walk on my sprained foot. The campus was breathtaking, really. Several large stone buildings were set in between old trees, and students were sitting around, talking and reading books, and even playing music. Maybe this wasn't so bad an idea after all. I took it all in before a guide helped me to my dorm, which wasn't too far away from the campus entrance, and that suited me fine. I got my key and my dorm number which was on the third floor, and got to my room, looking around as I got in. It was pretty bare, and on each side of the walls there was a bed and a desk and a drawer, and at the far end a big window. It was a while until I realized there was someone sitting on one of the beds, and I excused myself for not introducing myself. I learned that the pretty blonde girl's name was Madison, but she preferred being called Maddie. She was from the US too, and that brought me some comfort, in a way.

After unpacking everything and getting settled in, Maddie and I started getting more into a conversation, and she really was lovely. I knew then that she'd be a good friend. After a while, I admitted that I sat next to Louis on the plane. She gasped, obviously a fan, and refused to believe me. I laughed, shrugging. I turned to open my laptop, deciding to check my twitter. As soon as I opened up the tab and clicked on my profile, I gasped. My follower count, which was at 100 just yesterday, had leaped up to almost 500. I clicked my mentions, seeing plenty of one Direction twitters, until I saw it. Louis Tomlinson followed me. Maddie ran over to me to see what I was gawking at, and her jaw was left open as we clicked on his profile.

With the tweet he had attached the picture we had taken a while before landing.

"I really wasn't expecting him to post that," I said quietly, fascinated. Maddie nodded.

"I think you're just about the luckiest girl around, Violet," she gasped. I admitted to giving him my number, but made sure she knew that it was only in a friendly way. We talked some more, and inevitably started thinking of several yet all equally impossible scenarios. It was late when we had finished decorating the dorm room, and we both got to bed, wanting a good, fresh start the first day of school the next day.

The first week of college went by quickly. I was meeting new people, which I don't deem myself very good at, and was already getting some work done for school. I tried to opt for one of those 'easy' majors, but apparently Liberal Arts had a lot of work to put into also. I liked the classes though, so it wasn't too bad. Meanwhile, Maddie and I were discovering England together. It was a beautiful place, but it was hard to not be homesick. Once I spilled a few tears in company of my mother over Skype, she wired a little extra money for shopping, and I thanked god my family was well off, and my father left me a few hundred thousand dollars when he passed. His passing didn't affect me too much since I barely remember him, but at times I really wish I'd had a real father, not those bullshit excuses for step fathers.

Anyways, I was in over my head, and as impossible as it seems, I momentarily forgot about meeting 20% of one Direction. Not for long though, because One Direction has a knack for really sticking good when they do come around.
