Back For You

Chapter 10

"3 weeks?" I asked, shocked. After eating breakfast Harry and myself thought it would be a good idea to check on my apartment. It was safe to say I hadn't been back there In a little under a year, and I was naive enough to think that everything would be perfect, that the heating wouldn't be broken and my ceiling wouldn't be caving in. I was wrong.

"Yes, Miss. 3 weeks. It should be done just before the holiday season." I walked over, looking out the window.

"Okay," I said as my landlord made his way out of the apartment.

"Were you expecting it to be ready to move back into?" Harry asked coming up beside me.

"To be honest, yes. I wasn't expecting the heating system to be broken and my ceiling caving in because the apartment above me flooded." I said as let out a annoyed breath.

"At least your furniture isn't ruined," Harry said as he removed the cover from one of the couches and sat on it. "Still as comfortable as I remember" He said shutting his eyes.

"Ow, what was that for?" Harry said startled after I threw a pillow at him.

"We don't have time to reminisce on my couch. I need to pack away somethings before the contraction workers come." I said taking off my jacket. "How am I going to get all these things back to Holmes Chapel?, train? maybe I could drive up here, or I could ask Talan…"

"You're not going back to Holmes Chapel, there's room at my house for you." Harry said following me to my room

"What, Harry no. I don't want to intrude. Plus you and Laura probably want your privacy." I thought out loud, cringing at the thought of me living with the two of them.

"Doesn't matter. We'll be going back to Cheshire mid december. Anyway, I'm not asking you I'm telling you," Harry said as I opened the door to my room. "Jesus, what did you even take to Australia" Harry asked as we stepped into my room. Everything was just as I left it.

"Hardly anything, really." I said looking at my room "I lived at the university remember, so I didn't have to bring much." My bed was stripped and there were boxes, I remembered packing last time I came home. Thankfully there were at least half a dozen new boxes so I could get my valuables out of here before construction started.

"You keep everything," Harry said looking into one of the boxes. "You still have the flowers from graduation," he laughed as he picked up the dried up flowers, blowing the dust off them resulting in whatever petals were left, to fall off.

"Idiot" I laughed, taking the flowers from Harry. "I'm getting the dust pan," I said walking to out of the room.

"Throw them out while you're at it" I rolled my eyes hearing what Harry called out. Walking to the kitchen I threw all but one of the dried up flowers away and grabbed the dust pan.

"I threw them away happy? but I had to keep at least one…." I trailed off when I noticed Harry.

"I remember this night" He said studying the picture in his hands. I stood next to him watching his eyes stare down at the16 and 17 year old versions of ourselves. "It was after Xfactor, when we went on that camping trip, with our friends?"

"Yeah, just before you moved down to London with Louis." I said quietly engrossed in the photograph. It was a picture of myself and Harry standing around a fire, somewhere by the beaches in South England. He had his arm lazily draped around my waist and I was cuddled up next to him. His hair was a bush of curls on his head and I was wearing his sweater. We were laughing at something off to the side, and the camera caught us perfectly mid laugh. "It's my favourite picture of us" I said smiling as I reached for the photograph.

"That was the night I kissed you" Harry whispered, releasing it from his grasp. Completely catching me off guard.

It was.

"Okay one more," Harry's friend John said as he took a sip of his beer "The last dare of the night goes to my best mate," John said his eyes meeting Harry's

"Go on then," Harry said gripping onto the neck of his beer, grinning as he shuffled beside me.

"Since it's the last one of the night, let's make this interesting. I dare you to either. YES, I am giving you a choice. To either proper snog Holly, or kiss your best friend Rylynn. Which Direction will he choose?" John said a smirk plastered on his face. He was intoxicated, I couldn't be mad at him. I looked up at Harry who was right beside me, bitting on his bottom lip. I knew he had a thing for Holly, everyone knew.

"Go for it," I said looking up at him "Make out with her"

"What makes you so sure I wasn't going to kiss you" He asked looking down at me, his eyes shining. I just stared back in response, my heart racing at the thought of kissing Harry.

"Let's go Holls" Harry said before handing me his beer and pulling Holly by the hand towards the small stream.

I couldn't complain, I was the one who told Harry to pick Holly over me. Nevertheless, it still didn't change the fact that I was upset. I really like Harry. After a few minutes, after Holly and Harry walked away, people started breaking off into groups and I walked the opposite direction along the stream.

"There you are," I heard Harry behind me.

"Here I am" I nervously laughed. "How was Holly? I mean…I don't mean like that….you know…I mean like…never mind" I stammered.

"I didn't kiss her," Harry said with a smile, "There's something going on between her and Matt, she didn't want to ruin it" Harry said looking down at me.

"Oh, well I'm sorry then" I smiled sadly. We walked a little further before stopping at a small clearing in the bushes, you could see the clear water of the stream clearly. That's when I felt a hand grab mine.

"Rylynn." Harry said, looking down at me. "Can..I..can I try something" He whispered nervously.

"mmmhmm" I nodded as I watched his emerald eyes looking into mine closing the gap between us. His hand circled around my waist, holding me as he leaned his head down. Next thing I knew his lips were on mine. He kissed me, and I kissed back. The kiss was gentle, soft and slow and my arms wrapped around his neck pulling him closer to me as he tightened his grip on my waist.

"I've always wanted to do that" Harry said resting his forehead against mine, after we pulled away.

I didn't say anything. I couldn't, I was speechless. I just kissed my best friend. The boy that I was head over heels for.

I was so Happy.

"Let's go back" Harry laughed, pulling me behind him. A smile plastered on my face.

"Hey you two smile" one of our friends screamed, as she pulled out a camera.

Harry pulled me into him as he wrapped an arm around my waist, kissing my forehead.

"Say Cheese"

"You drank quite a bit that night, If I remember correctly." I said giggling before looking up at him. A soft smile spread across his face, as his eyes met mine. He stood there staring at me, causing my stomach to erupt with butterflies. He looked so good. His hair pushed out of his face, dressed in all black with his tattoos peeking through the top of his shirt. I had to control everything inside me to not reach for him right then and there...

"Let's start packing" I said, leaving the picture face down on my dresser.

5 hours, and 9 boxes later we were finally back in Harry house. Sitting on the floor in his living room drinking red wine and eating our Chinese take away.

"I haven't had this is so long" I said, savouring the taste of the spicy chicken in my mouth. "It still tastes the same" I said smiling at me best friend who was stretched out on the floor across from me.

"I know, every time we went away on tour or something. When we would come back this was always the first thing I would order." Harry said whipping his face with a napkin and throwing it in the now empty containers. "It's such a constant"

"Do you miss it?" I asked him, this was the first time we got the chance to talk about One Directions break.

"Of course, I could've done it for the rest of my life" He said smiling at me. "Till I was old and withered"

"I know," I laughed. "Watching you on stage is something I could do for the rest of my life. You were so…free, so alive Haz, you were so happy. It was one of favourite things to do. I loved seeing you like that." I said finishing up my food.

"You came to every show of the Up All Night Tour in the UK. I'll never forget how nervous you would get before the show. Every night." He said laughing.

"It was so much fun" I smiled, sipping my red wine.

"I almost forgot," Harry said leaving the room, and returning a moment later with a Cadbury's Milk Chocolate bar in his hand. "For you" He said. For as long as I could legally drink I always enjoyed chocolate with my wine. I hated wine, it was so bitter and boring, one time I happened to be eating a Milk Chocolate bar before I took a sip and I never could drink wine the same after that.

"You remembered?" I asked excited, as I took the bar from Harry and opened it, breaking a small piece placing it in my mouth then taking a sip. "SOO, good" I rolled my eyes at the overwhelming sensation in my mouth.

I looked back at Harry who just shook his head at me. "You weirdo"

"Have you ever even tried it?" I asked bitting the chocolate in my mouth.

"Nope, never" He said as I crawled over to him on the other side of the living room. I broke a piece in my hand.

"Here,' I said as I put the chocolate in Harry's mouth. "Now, drink" I said as he lifted the glass to his lips, his eyes concentrated on me.

"That was, surprisingly really good" He said a moment later, a shocked expression on his face

"I told you!" I laughed,

"You're a mess, Ry." He said in a whisper, reaching his thumb up to rub what I assumed to be chocolate off my chin. He stared back at me a smirk stretching across his face.

"Harry, I'm home. Where are you?" I heard Laura, from the front door.

"Living room, Laur" Harry said as he removed his hand from my face, a huge smile stretching across before he got up and walked out of the room.

"Harry, I missed you." I could hear Laura from the foyer.

"Missed you so much babe you're back early" Harry said to her before I heard the two of them kiss.

"I know, I couldn't stay away from you for that long. I missed you so much" Laura said as I finally made my way out of the living room. Laura had her arms wrapped around Harry's neck playing with his hair, and he was holding her tight to him. "Oh, Harry you didn't tell me Rylynn was here" Laura said as Harry kissed her cheek.

"Yeah, she came with me to the premier. She'll be staying here for a few weeks. Her apartment is being renovated" Harry said letting go of Laura only to grab her hand.

"Oh no! I hope it's not too hard to fix! Well I'm glad you're here, we can get to know each other better. Hang out." Laura said smiling at me

"Yeah, Harry wouldn't shut up about you the entire time you were gone. So I feel like I already know you." I smiled at her. Lying.

"Well I'm starving, so how about we grab some food?" Laura said walking into the house, myself and Harry following behind her.

"We got Chinese take away, there's lots left over" Harry said as he set the food on the island,

"Great," Laura said, tying her long blond hair in a messy bun on her head. "Harry, I've booked times for us to check out venues for the wedding, we should go sometime this week. I want those Save the Dates out before December and the Invitations out for Christmas" Laura said as she took a bite of the food.

"I know. We'll go this week" Harry said jumping to sit on the counter.

"When are you planning on having it?" I asked pulling out the seat next to Laura.

"Harry didn't tell you? June 27th, It's our anniversary" She said smiling as she continued to eat.

"Wow, that's less than a year" I said in shock. "H, you're going to be married in less than a year." I said grinning at Him.

"I know, it's crazy" He said as he smiled at Laura. "But I'm excited"

"Well, Laura. You know that if you need any help at all I'm here" I said as she whipped her face with a napkin.

"Thanks Rylynn. I'll definitely take you up on that" She smiled "I missed you so much babe," Laura said reverting her gaze to Harry. I needed to leave.

"I'm going to head to bed." I said forcing a yawn.

"You sure Ry? We could watch a movie? Sound of Music?" Harry asked, knowing very well that was my favourite movie. Laura stood between his legs that were hanging off the counter.

"Thanks H, but no. I'm meeting Eleanor tomorrow morning for breakfast so I'm just gonna go to sleep now"

"Well goodnight Ry," Harry said

"Yeah, night Rylynn" Laura smiled as I made my way out of the kitchen, stopping by the living room to grab my glass of wine and chocolate.

Making my way up to Harry's spare room, I forced myself to take deep breaths. "You're okay" I said to myself as I sat on the edge of the bed. "You knew he was going to get married" I said trying to slow my heart rate. "You're going to have to accept it". Half an hour later after finishing my wine, I turned off the lights and slipped into bed.

"Ry?" I heard the door creek open. It was Harry. I didn't dare answer, I didn't want to talk to him right now, I didn't want him to know. He made his way over to my bed, I closed my eyes. He stood there for a while before leaning onto my bed.

"Goodnight Ry," He whispered as he kissed me on the head, just like he did last night. "Sweet Dreams" he muttered, before leaving the room and closing the door behind him.
