Something Great

Chapter 18

Chapter 18:

I and Harry’s relationship couldn’t be more in sync. There was no longer that fear in the back of my head and I finally moved on. And now with tour starting, I couldn’t be happier because every day I’d be surrounded by the people I loved. We were sitting on the tour bus and everyone was talking over themselves, I couldn’t even hear what Niall was trying to tell me. “I said! I really have to poop!” Niall screamed, making everyone look at him. A laugh burst out of my mouth and as well as everyone else’s. “Hey! Everyone does it and I’m proud!” He stood up and went to talk to the driver. Harry excused himself from a conversation and scooted closer to me.

“Hey,” he said nudging me. He leaned down and gave me a peck on the lips and smiled at me.

“Well someone’s especially happy today,” I observed. His smile was radiating happiness on this rainy day on the tour bus.

“Of course I’m happy, just thinking about you and the tour and how everything is perfect at this moment.” Harry sat back, throwing an arm around my shoulders and giving me a tight squeeze.

“It’s crazy, you know? The first two tours we were just friends and like now were dating…kind of weird.”

“Yeah but now,” he started leaning down to whisper in my ear. “We can have sex all the time.” I rolled my eyes and pushed his face away.

“Yeah, keep dreaming Harry.” I laughed at his smirk. But his idea wasn’t totally outrageous; I thought biting my lip and smiling in secret.

Niall had the driver stop at a diner mainly because he had to poop but we all needed to stretch considering we had been on this bus for over 8 hours. We all entered the diner and my phone started ringing so I excused myself and stood outside to take the call. It was probably the most amazing phone call I had ever gotten. I couldn’t help but keep a smile on when I walked back into the diner to join my friends.

“Who was it?” Liam asked, noticing that I had the biggest smile on my face.

“Oh Justin from Bon Iver,” I mentioned nonchalantly.

“Well? What’d he want?” Now Harry was interested as well.

“He was just telling me that their album that I wrote was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammy’s,” I shrugged making it sound like not a big deal but then smiled really big. They all jumped up and down, yelling.

“You’re kidding! That’s awesome, Em!” They all repeated over and over again.

“Thanks guys,” I giggled. “Yeah they want me to come and accept the award with them,” I added as well.

“This is insane,” Harry smiled. “I’m so proud, we’re all so proud of you!” We group hugged for a long time and people stared but that was irrelevant to this perfect moment.

“I’m speechless right now,” I said as they all sat down back in their normal seats. “Like, I’m no one special and I’m going to the Grammy’s.” It was mindboggling.

“Hey, you’re obviously someone special if you got their album nominated!” Niall said.

“Yeah, especially at the Grammy’s!” Zayn said raising his eyebrows.

“Seriously, you’re already ahead of us. We haven’t been nominated for the Grammy’s yet. Congrats, Em.” Louis clapped loudly.

I of course called everyone I knew to tell them the news, this was big. Justin called me again with all the details and said that I could bring Harry because he knew about us dating. Harry was psyched to know that I was bringing him just like I knew he would. “This is awesome, I told you you’re talented. You deserved this you know?” He asked, pulling me into a tighter hug. It was nice, how everything that fell undone was finally tying back together again. Everything just seemed to be falling into place as I hoped it would. “You’re amazing,” he kissed my forehead.

“I love you,” I kissed his lips.

“And I love you,” he said tapping my nose with his index finger. “You know what this means,” Harry smirked. And I did know what this means, Harry was going to throw me a party just like he always did when something good like this happened to me or for my birthday. When I was asked to write their album, he threw me a huge party and even my parents were there.

“Harry…” I trailed off. “You really don’t have to go through all the trouble. I don’t mind just celebrating with you guys.”

“Yeah but I want everyone to know how talented and special you are,” he shrugged. I would let him throw me a party because it’s what he loved to do and I didn’t mind the parties, they were always fun.

“Thank you,” I smiled.

“Anything for you,” he smiled back and squeezing me tighter.

Niall flew Coralie out so she could help me find a dress for the Grammy’s. It was only in a few weeks and Harry said that I could buy whatever dress and it was on him. But that didn’t mean I was going to buy the most expensive dress ever, I pretended it was like prom. I gave myself a budget because I hated taking Harry’s money. Coralie came into the hotel we were staying at and ran up to me, jumping into my arms. “It’s so good to see you!” She screamed. “I feel so lonely at home without my girls,” she whined.

“I know I miss you too,” I gushed. “Being with all guys can be hard to take on when it’s every day.”

“So? Are you ready to go shopping?!” She yelled. Shopping was a favorite of Coralie’s and she was good at it which is why I was desperate for her to be here.

“Yes, but first go kiss Niall. I’m sure he’s missed you too,” I laughed.

“Oh yeah,” she giggled. “Where is that cute little Irish boy anyway?” she asked, looking around the room for Niall. “Oh found him,” she pointed. “We leave in a half an hour,” she said sternly. Then she was gone, saying hello to Niall. I couldn’t tell if they were dating or what but they sure liked kissing so I didn’t really need to know their label to know that they were happy.

Anyways, we were in Paris so it was the perfect place to find a dress to wear to the Grammy’s. Especially with Coralie’s amazing sense in fashion, I know I’ll find the perfect dress. Harry sauntered over to me and put his hand out which held his credit card. “Any price, Em. Okay?” He assured me although I already knew that he’d buy me anything in a heartbeat but I wasn’t okay with taking his money or at least a large amount in one time. But he handed me the card, knowing how I felt. It was incredible how such a small object could hold so much power.

“Thanks, Babe.” I said kissing his perfect lips and didn’t want to stop. Screw finding a dress, couldn’t I just stay here and keep kissing Harry? He pulled away laughing and looked down at me.

“Later? Yeah?” He asked, giving me a quick wink. Even though Harry and I were closer than ever, it was still embarrassing when I was intensely into the kiss and Harry had to pull away. Coralie came back over to us and she pulled me out of Harry’s hold and I waved goodbye. Another laugh came out as he watched me being pulled violently away by Coralie.

Walking up and down these streets was so stressful, I wanted to give up so badly but Coralie wasn’t allowing it. “Emma, we’re in the heart of fashion and you want to give up? Are you insane?” She yelled.

“No, but you are.” I giggled at her voice change. She smiled and became less tense immediately. “Look I know you’re trying to help but I can’t do this for a long period of-“ And that’s when I caught my eyes on the most beautiful dress I had ever seen in the world.

“Em?” Coralie questioned me. “Wanna finish your sentence?” I didn’t even acknowledge her. Quickly, I started walking towards the dress in the window that was taunting me. It felt like it took forever to get there but when I did, I just glued myself to the window and couldn’t move. “That’s the dress, isn’t it?” Coralie asked, smiling.

“Yes,” I breathed as I took in its beauty.

“Well why are we standing out here and not trying it on, idiot?” She was once again, violently pulling me into the store but the dress was nowhere to be found. We literally searched every single rack. Finally, someone saw our struggle and came over to help.

“Can I help you ladies?” The woman asked in a condescending tone. She obviously believed she was high above us and probably didn’t think we belonged in this store. But I didn’t really care.

“Yes, I was looking for that indigo blue dress that’s hanging on the mannequin in the window.” I don’t know if I returned her annoyed tone back to her but she shifted in her place.

“We actually just ran out,” she said raising her eyebrows, a smirk growing on her face.

“Well what about the one on the mannequin?” Coralie demanded more than asked.

“I guess you can try it on…” she said looking me up and down and then went to retrieve the dress on the mannequin. Coralie looked at me and rolled her eyes at the women. “Here,” she said handing me the dress. She followed us into the dressing room, I didn’t question her just in case she had any ideas of kicking us out. Trying it on was a struggle because it was a little tight.

“Come out and show me,” Coralie called. But I didn’t want to walk out, especially with that snotty woman eyeing me. “Emma, come on.” I opened the door and Coralie’s eyes glistened. “You look unbelievable in that dress!” But the woman had a different opinion.

“It’s a little tight,” she blatantly pointed out.

“Excuse me?” Coralie twisted around. “She looks amazing,” she corrected her. I mean I knew it was a little tight but I couldn’t believe she would say it out loud. “Emma, you look great.” She assured me but the other woman shrugged.

“I mean I could always drop a few pounds,” I added.

“Yeah like maybe even just work out a little more and eat a little healthier. You’ll be fine,” Coralie always had my back. “So we’re gonna get this one, if you would so gladly please ring us up?” Coralie asked with her sweet and sharp British accent. I was glad she was here because I would have never been able to talk to this lady the way she did.

We went to lunch afterwards and that’s where I decided to start eating healthier. We both ordered salads and talked about how bitchy that woman was. “You really looked fine, though.” Coralie rolled her eyes.

“It’s ok,” I shrugged. “I have gained a few pounds after Harry and I started dating, considering he always feeds me.” We both laughed. “But hey? Did you see her face when I gave her Harry’s credit card?” I asked, laughing just thinking about it.

“Yes! It was priceless!”

When we got back to the hotel, the guys were sleeping. I found Harry on the couch, cuddled up with the Teddy bear I bought him. Coralie and I took a picture because they all looked adorable. But we were bored and rudely woke them up, they’d get over it. I sat on Harry’s stomach, immediately he switched the teddy bear out and cuddled up with me instead. He literally koalaed me. “Harry! Get up,” I squirmed in his hold.

“Em did you get a dress?” Niall asked.

“Yeah!” That made Harry shoot up.

“You did?” he asked, arms still squeezing me. I nodded and he kissed my cheek. “Let me see it!”

“Not yet, silly. You can see it the night of,” I assured.

“Aww that’s no fun,” he pouted.

“Yeah sucks,” I shrugged. I then handed him his credit card and he smiled. “Thank you,” I kissed his lips again not wanting to detach them.

“You’re welcome,” he mumbled into my lips. Quickly, I kissed him once more and then got up from the couch.

“Well I’m gonna go shower,” I sighed. Harry got up and started following me and all the boys laughed and cheered. I could tell he was giving them a show by making faces and hand gestures but I didn’t care. We exited the room and finally were alone.
