Don't Forget Where You Belong

"RILEY!!" Foster yelled from his office

Uh oh...

I immidiately think of what I did wrong. Crap did I not adjust the sound on the new Niki Minaj song right? EFFFF

"Coming!" I yell back gathering myself. I get up from my small desk, of which is covered in TONS of papers I need to sort through. I spill my coffee all over some of them as I frantically move.

"Crap, Just a sec Foster" I yell

"Whatever it is, it can wait Ry, GET. IN. HERE. NOW!" oh no

I drop what Im doing. The paper's look like they'll survive. I quickly adjust myself so i dont look so frazzled and walk out of my office, and down the hall to the next office.

Foster's Office is about 5 times bigger than mine, but I can proudly say that we have the same view. I steady my focus on the city alive out the window. I refuse to look at Foster. If he looks mad I'll cave. I hate it when people are mad at me.

I see the traffic, the people rushing, the hot dog stands, the taxi's being hailed. Its such an exciting place. How did I get so luck to live here. Oh yeah, Foster. My boss and my big sisters best friend.

I hear him clear his throat

OK, Riley. You can do this. Just look at him. Be professional

I lower my gaze and see Foster smiling from ear to ear.

ok? Thats a lot better than what I thought

"Yes sir?" I say returning his smile with a half one

"Do you mind telling me what this is?" He asks slightly amused

He lays down a picture on his desk and moves it forward
I recognize it immidiately.

"That's Chase and I the other night?" I say wondering why he's bringing this up

"I see that" He laughs to himself "But you didnt tell me that you're dating?!" He says laughing a bit more excited than I am about it

"I wouldnt really call it dating. He's more of a distraction. I dont think I want to continue..." I trail off as the reason I dont want anything with Chase flashes across my mind. All I see is blonde hair, blue eyes and a smile that can make any woman weak in seconds...

"Well, start wanting to. Riley, do you have any idea who this is?" Foster asks. I can see he's gone from interested friend, to business man...

"I know he's in the chorus line on broadway... nothing big really..." I say unsure at where Fos is going... from the sound. I dont really like it.

"Yeah, no. He is one of the richest kids on the planet. His father owns half on New York. Including this building. He's Chase Waldorf. We've been trying to get in touch with his father for months! We need to set up a meeting with him... thats where you come it" He looks at me hopefully

"I dont like where this is going" I say nervously. I dont want much more to do with Chase.... he's kinda weird, and he's not... Niall. I know I need to get over Niall. I was nothing more than a little fling I think. But I was still planning on letting Chase down easy tonight

"Well welcome to the Big City little girl. I need you to get in good with this guy. Get in good with his whole family. This shall be your first big assignment!" Foster smiles. Pleased with himself. Im a little disappointed.

I open my mouth to argue. Trying to find words

"Listen Ry. I love ya like my kid sister, I really do. But this is important for the company. Its my baby. And you have the closest lead to something we need. Please do this? For me?" He asks pleadingly

" remember. You're job is on the line too" He says trying to convince me. He knows how much i love this job.

Well, its not like Im dating anyone. Its not gonna hurt anything. I can continue whatever it is with Chase. Maybe it will work out. We seemed to kinda hit it off.

I look down at my shoes. I like these ones. My outfit is pretty sweet too. I love dressing like this where people actually appriciate nice things. I like this city, and I like this job. I cant lose it. Its all I've got

"Ill do it." i say solemly looking up at Fos

He's smiling

"You have no idea how much this means to me sis" He says getting up and hugging me.
"You look adorable in that outfit too. I swear you have better taste than I do, and thats saying something" He giggles

"You're so gay" I laugh and giggle with him

"Guilty" he smiles going back to his desk

"How's Leo, by the way? I haven't heard from him or Char all week." I say thinking of my sister and her band mate Leo, who is dating Foster. They came out with it about a week ago when they kissed publicly at the New Years Eve party... the same night Niall kissed me for the first time.

"He's doing good. They are about to kick off their tour. They have one concert before Zayn and Perri's wedding. Are you still going to that?" He asks me

"Of course. I am helping with the sound. Perri and I are gonna go shopping tonight after work. She was abandoned here too" I giggle.

"we all were honey. I miss Leo every second he's gone. Im so glad the rest of the world knows now tho. I hated keeping it a secret" He says staring off into space

"Im glad too. For both of you. And no one has seemed to say anything negative. I love it" I smile at him

"thats a good thing. Leo would have hated that. but if there was ever a time to be gay, its now" He smiles at me and I smile back. People being less judgmental is a good thing. I hate being judged.

"well Im going to go finish my work, good talk Foster" I head out

"Oh Riley, make sure to bring Chase to the wedding. There will be lots of cameras there and I want this thing between you two to be as public as possible. Make sure people know you work for us. ok?"

Crap... Niall is gonna be there

"but..." Foster stops me

"No buts darling. You are the one dating him. Show everyone its real. Its for the company" He demands...

This is going to be really hard.
