Trouble
Chapter 7
*Zyana's POV*
Courtney and I ran back to school, and to the others waiting impatiently for us.
When we arrived panting, we looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"Whew, that was so close!" I chocked out laughing, when Courtney laughed with me and agreed by nodding her head. Everyone looked at us, startled.
"Guys! You could've gotten caught!" Louis looked over at Courtney, and then pierced his eyes into mine very seriously.
I suddenly remembered the promise I made him last night about not getting into trouble, and I quickly stopped laughing, looking at the ground ashamed.
Courtney gave me a confused look, as if to ask why I was so ashamed of myself. She was astonished at how weird I was looking at the ground, and I could tell that everyone else was also confused.
The only person I told about my mom was Courtney, because she knew me best. Of course she kept it a secret because she knew I would be devestated if anyone knew about it.
Keeping it a secret was hard , especially when you're around so many people that remind you of your terrible past.
"I'm sorry Louis, it won't happen again." I looked up peering at him. He looked disappointed, and I actually genuinely felt bad for breaking my promise.
*Lexi's POV*
"Soo...you guys wanna continue playin' truth or dare?" Niall asked hesitantly. Unsure, of what our reactions would be.
"I don't think that's a good ide-"
"Great! Not everyone had their turn, so..." I cut Kian off.
I was surprised myself that I reacted so quickly. I was never one to listen to people's judgements, but I was sick of everyone acting like I was a perfect little five year-old saint who never did anything wrong. I was thinking of making a massive comeback as the more daring Lexi, and I figured I could start here.
"Kay, since it was my turn last and I was so rudely interrupted by that nitwit half-brain I pick..." Courtney looked over at me and smiled. "I pick you Lex."
I knew she would pick me, my suggestion to play the game was quite obvious.
"I pick...truth. Sorry guys." I replied. I didn't want to be too eager, decided I would take things slower, bit by bit until everyone would accept the new me.
"Okay uhm..." she thought.
Only now I regretted picking truth because Cory was ruthless when it came to asking truth questions, she always somehow made people so uncomfortable.
"Do you have a crush on someone?" She said with a sly smirk on her face.
I knew I was bad at lying and so did everyone else, and my face always flushed red when I was lying.
"What? No!" I lied.
Actually, I did have a crush on someone, that special someone is Kian.
Already for a long, long time. I mean, he's really cute, and I just can't describe how he is, what attracts me to him. His astonishing green eyes, his perfect smooth skin, his gorgeous curls, and most importantly, his aura, his perfect personality.
He's shy, yes, but that's what I like about him. He's not like those other boys, and he's just so special to me. We're friends for such a long time, and I really don't want to mess things up for us by announcing my long ever-lasting love to him, besides, I can tell he totally likes Zy.
Every time he walks into the room he starts blushing. When he's with her in class, I always catch him staring at her, and to be honest, it crushes my heart.
Maybe someday, if I have enough damn courage, I'll tell him, but today is not that day, and I don't want her to pry an answer out of me and embarrass me in front of everyone, and certainly not in front of Kian.
"Why don't I believe you?" She poked me eyeing me suspiciously.
"No, I swear, I'm not lying. I'll even take a damn lie detector test if you want to"
Everyone ooh'ed their ooh's while they were shocked at my change in attitude.
"What? I'm serious."
*Zyana's POV*
After everyone had their turn of truth or dare, the bell rang. We all wandered off to class, and I still felt a little whoozy from what happened earlier but I just shook it off as the boring minutes of school ticked by ever so slowly.
I decided to skip the last two hours because of the extreme dullness. I sent a quick text to Courtney and Lexi telling them I was heading home. I knew Lexi never checked her phone during class, she was always afraid to get caught.
To my surprise, she texted back.
Lexi: "Call me later then, okay? Love ya :) x"
Me: "Course I will :) Since when do you text in class? You always leave your phone in your locker ;) x"
Immediately after, I got another answer. Wow, that was quick.
Lexi: "Yeah I know, I just felt like bringing it with for once, you know, in case of an emergency or something ;) x" Well that was an obvious lie, I chuckled.
Me: "Whatever you say poopie ;) Bye x"
Lexi: "Bye :ยจ* x"
When the bell rang, I got a text from Courtney.
Courtney: "Wait up weirdo, I'm coming with you. I have no interest in sitting in boring History now. No freaking way."
Me: "Haha okay, I'll wait by the lockers x"
A few minutes later, Courtney came hopping towards me, when she stopped in her tracks a few feet away from me.
"What is up with Harry lately? He keeps staring at you and he's being weird" Courtney whispered stepping closer to me, eyeing Harry.
"I know right! He's acting odd." I replied whispering back.
"Totally! How are things between you guys?"
"Ugh, still tense. I just don't want to talk to him anymore. He's such a jerk." I rolled my eyes. "And you know what? Earlier when we got out of the parking lot and we ran into him, I saw that he just got off the phone with Stacy."
"What? No way! Ohmygod! So that means...he told her to call the police?!" She freaked out raising her voice.
"Shh, he's still standing there. And yes, probably. This just makes me hate him even more" I spat.
"This is serious! I hope he doesn't find out it was us" she suddenly whispered extremely softly.
"Yeah me neither. Come on, let's go grab an ice cream, it's still warm outside"
She agreed exitedly and we snuck out of school hoping no one would see us, but no one ever did. We snuck out all the time.
We walked home eating our ice cream, I always picked the raspberry flavour, my favourite. I loved the sweetness.
"Text me later okay?" Courtney told me as we stopped in front of my house.
"Yeah sure, see you tomorrow!" I gave her a big hug and opened the door, grabbing an apple in the kitchen and heading upstairs to my room.
When I was about to plop down on my bed, I nearly died of fright.
There was a picture of me and Courtney standing in front of Stacy's car, with Courtney trying to wriggle out the crowbar, and me standing there panicked.
Next to it was a note saying, "Don't want this going to the police do we? The fun is only about to begin bitches. -A"
I picked up the photo and looked out of the window nervously, totally freaked out.
Fuck.
