Just Call Me Ali

Anali Patel is trapped. Her parents are her everything, but they are her prison guards. They keep her locked up, filed away to attend to her studies. They expect a daughter with full scholarships to the top universities in the United States. Anali's parents devote their lives to making sure Anali becomes the high ranked surgeon they want her to be.

But that isn't what she wants.

Anali wants to see the world, meet new people. She is sick and tired of living as the perfect Indian daughter. Anali just wants to be a normal nineteen year old girl, and only one thing keeps her attached to that: a certain band called One Direction. She could call herself the biggest fan on the entire planet, but she wouldn't have anything to prove that. Her parents completely disapprove of the band. They say that the five boys will do nothing for her education, only take their money when they buy merchandise for her. Anali knows they are much more than that, but doesn't bother to confront her parents. They are much more powerful than her, and have overwritten many of her desires already.

However, Anali can be a bit of a rebel herself. She secretly applies for a top college in the United Kingdom to study economics, and quite obviously is accepted. Though her parents are furious with her actions, Anali knows they can't stop her from going to the university. Anali packs her bags and prepares for the long flight to London, England to study at London School of Economics. Anali is determined to change herself there. She wants to be the person she's always wanted to be, and now her parents are not there to stop her. When she runs into the least expected person in her mind, the first step to her change up begins.

There is no more Anali. Now, you can just call her Ali.
