-DYLANS POV-
“Dylan c’mon. It’s time to go home!” Ashton pulls me along.
I am wasted.
“Okay Ashy!” I giggle uncontrollably as I trudge behind him through the now leaving crowd.
Suddenly I pass by Jake and gasp.
“JAKEY!” I squeal and try to get out of Ashton’s grip. Jake spots me and walks over.
“On a scale from one to ten, how drunk are you?” He looks at me.
“Um? Twelve!” I giggle again and Jake laughs amusedly.
“What did you give her man? She is a goner!” Jake laughs and not able to control myself, I laugh along with him.
“It’s not my fault she is a total light weight!” Ashton chuckles.
“Hey Jake! Guess what!” I slur and try to jump excitedly. I end up flailing my arms instead because I think I would have tripped if I actually jumped.
“What Dylan?” He laughs taking his gaze off of Ashton and on to me.
“I *hiccup* had a shots war with Michael but he made me quit after 6.” I frown.
“Don’t pout babe. It looks ugly on you.” Jake pats my head.
I narrow my eyes at him and was raising my hand to hit him when Ashton grabs my hand drags me through the rest of the crowd.
When we get to the parking lot we see Calum and Luke laughing near Luke’s car.
“Hey guys!” I squeak and wave.
Calum looks at me first then bursts out laughing and walks over to give me a hug.
Luke comes over to and gives me a peck on the cheek.
“I am taking her home. She is wasted.” Ashton tells them while chuckling.
The bright lights coming from the warehouse are giving me a throbbing headache and I think the alcohol is finally wearing off.
I am so tired.
I can feel my eyelids drooping as I lean on my tall muscular best friend.
“Dylan, are you okay?” I hear someone chuckling.
My eyelids flit closed and I hear a string of curse words before falling to a dreamless sleep.

-ASHTONS POV-
“Dylan, are you okay?” Luke asks her as she leans on me.
I look at her and I could see her eyelids closing slowly.
Jesus. Only Dylan would fall asleep standing.
“Shit.” I breathe as I catch her from cashing to the dirt.
I bring my arm around her and behind her knees, lifting her.
Carrying Dylan bridal style, I say goodbye to the boys and trot over to my truck.
Dylan is very light so it doesn’t take much to move and around and all.
Struggling to take hold of the handle, I finally open the door and lay Dylan on the backseat.
Closing the door, I trudge over to the driver seat and climb in. After I pull out of the parking lot, I glance at Dylan in the review mirror. She was smiling in her sleep and I couldn’t but help but grin. I wonder what she was dreaming about.
As I stop at a traffic light I look at her again. She was gorgeous even when she was sleeping.
I can remember all of the sleepovers and cuddle sessions we have had over the years.
There was one in particular that stands out.

(FLASHBACK)

I was 17 at the time so that means Dylan was 16 and I was at the dinner table with my parents when I heard my phone ringing.
I am not usually supposed to answer it but its Dylan’s ringtone so I give my mom pleading eyes; begging her to let me answer it.
She sighs and nods.
I take off for my phone. Sprinting up the stairs, I scramble into my room and grab my phone just as it stops ringing.
Damnit.
Quickly I redial the number I know too well and wait for her to answer.
I can hear her pick up but she doesn’t say anything.
“Angel?” I say out of breath. Damn stairs.
“Ashton.” I hear her sob.
“Oh my god. I will be right over.” I hang up the phone and grab a book bag.
I put my toothbrush and a pair of shorts in it for me to sleep in before zipping it closed and taking off down the stairs.
“Emergency at Dylan’s. I will be back tomorrow morning! Love you.” I call out to my parents who were still taking residence at the dinner table.
Running out the door, I climb into my car and drive the few streets over to Dylan’s house.
I park my car and walk in without knocking. (Not like her parents would care if they were home anyway)
Taking the steps two at a time I burst through Dylan’s bedroom door and see her sitting on her bed.
She was wearing one of my old t-shirts with some shorts and was clutching her cell phone in her hand as she sobbed.
I swear to god if that prick she calls her boyfriend hurt her, I am gonna kill him.
“Oh Angel.” I mutter before scooping her up and setting her on my lap on the floor.
She wept on my shoulder and just stared at her phone.
I snatch the phone out of her hands and she immediately wrapped her arms around my neck.
I take a glance at the phone.
From: Josh <3
I think we need to break up. I don’t like you anymore.
I knew it.
They had been boyfriend and girlfriend for almost a year and he claimed he loved her then he goes and breaks up with her over text.
Dick.
I was definitely going to kill him but not right now. Right now, my angel needed me.
I just held her and let her cry. This didn’t happen often. Dylan was usually such a strong girl but when it came to something like love, she was as fragile as a flower.
So I was sitting with my back against the bed with my legs straight in front of me while Angel sat on my lap with her head nudged in the crook of my neck.
We sit there for a while until she finally calms down. Standing up, I lift her in my arms and carry her down the hallway to the bathroom.
Her brother, Ryan’s, room was right across from the bathroom and he had his door open. He had a clear view of what I was doing but I could care less. If Ryan knew what happened then he wouldn’t care.
I set Angel on the sink and grab the makeup wipes out of her drawer. Her eye makeup was so far down her face it looked like each eye had a marathon. I carefully wipe the black smudges off of her face one by one. She was too out of it to care.
I could feel Ryan’s protective eyes on me, watching over my every move carefully.
“Why Ashton? Why would he do this?” A few more tears escape her eyes and I sweep them quickly off of her face.
“Angel, that prick isn’t worth your tears. Please don’t cry. Anybody that breaks my Dylan’s heart can go to hell.” In the corner of my eye I see Ryan close his eyes in understanding.
“Can we please just go to bed?” She utters shakily. I nod and lift her off the counter grabbing her hand and leading her back to her room. I send a small nod to Ryan and he nods back in respect.
I think that was the day that I earned Ryan’s trust.
When we get to her room she climbs onto her bed.
“Ash?”
“Yes Angel?”
“I really need someone to cuddle so hurry up.” She chuckles.
Trying to hide my grin, I take off my shoes and slip into bed next to her.
Wrapping my arms around her waist, I pull her closer to my chest.
“Goodnight Ashton.”
“Goodnight Angel.” I whisper before kissing her forehead.
(FLASHBACK OVER)

The next day I went over to Josh’s house and punched him in the face.
He broke my Angel’s heart so I broke his nose. That simple.
After a few more minutes of traffic, I finally reached Angel’s house. Parking the car, I get out and grab Dylan out of the backseat.
Carrying her bridal style once again, I shut my car door and walk up the steps to her house. It was quiet because it was almost midnight.
I lug Dylan up the stairs and to her bedroom. Her bedroom was very….Dylan. It was white but one of the walls was black with the words ‘tell me something sweet to get me by’ painted on it. She had fairy lights and lanterns hanging from the ceiling with posters covering most of the empty space on the walls. Her queen bed was under the quote and it had tulle fabric hanging from the ceiling draping over the side of the bed.
Next to her bed she had a metal nightstand that was cluttered with books, empty dishes, and a clock. On the opposite wall, her vanity was cluttered with brushes, make up, and the mirror resting on it had many pictures taped to it.
Setting Dylan on the bed I take in the rest of what I could see.
I tip toe back over to the mirror and look at some of the pictures stuck on it.
There was one of us in the first year Dylan moved here and we were at my house. I was pushing her on the swings in my backyard.
Another one was a picture of Dylan and me in the back seat of my mom’s car. We were pouting because we had just been sent home from school for throwing erasers at our teacher. We laugh about it now but that day, it was the most traumatic thing that had ever happened.
One picture was my feet next to hers in the sand at the beach last summer. Next to our feet she had written ‘Dyl + Ash=BFF’ in a big heart. That was a fun week. Jake, Lilly, Dylan and I had all flown to America for 2 weeks over the summer and stayed at Dylan’s Aunt’s cabin in Florida.
There were a couple pictures of Dylan, Lilly and Jake and some of just her and Lilly.
I smile as I remember all of these amazing memories.
Stepping away from the vanity, I almost trip on a pile of clothes on the floor. Then I realize that there are mini mounds of clothes scattered on the floor leading up to her closet in the corner of her room.
On the last wall, she has big windows that lead on to the roof. I can remember countless times we spent just sitting on the roof. Right now, the windows were clad in dark curtains that blocked the sun and moon rays from seeping into her room.
Weaving through the floor as if it were a mine field, I was to the door when I hear a slight groan.
I turn around and see Dylan sitting up in her bed.
“Hey Angel.” I say quietly while smiling.
“Ugh. I have such a head ache.”
“What did I tell you about drinking tequila?” I laugh and lean against the door frame.
“Oh shush. You weren’t leaving were you?” She frowns.
“Well I was gonna head back to the hotel.” I explain.
“No don’t leave me.” She whines.
“Ang-.”
“I really want someone to cuddle.” She pouts cutting me off.
“I don’t know.” I say wearily looking behind me into the dark hallway.
“Please.”
Without second hesitation, I sigh, kick off my shoes, and rip off my shirt. I try not to look too excited as I climb into bed with her.
Noticing that there was too much space between us she scoots over and lays her head on my chest.
I reach over her shoulder and switch off the lights and lanterns before wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her close.
“Night Ash.” She yawns.
Taking in her scent and closing my eyes, I fall into a sound sleep.
