The Story of My Life

I whirl around and face the person behind me.

"Selena?" I ask.

"Niall," Her voice is soft, shaky. "Don't... Liam wouldn't want you to do it."

I swallow the lump in my throat. She could read my intentions faster than I could. She knew what I had been trying to do. There's no use denying the extent of my pain, the way it stabs me in the gut. I want to end my pain right then and there, but she has better plans for me.

"Liam isn't here. He can't change the present. My life is all me now. I don't have anyone to--" I breakdown and start sobbing. "I don't want Liam to leave me." Selena hugs me and holds me tight. She pats my back in the same way Liam does. I look up at her, and she returns my gaze.

"Everything will be alright." She says, then holds me even tighter. Selena reminds me of Liam, she is so comforting. This causes me to cry harder. I miss Liam so much, and I feel that no one in the band can make up for Liam's loss. Selena starts messing with my hair.

"Your hair is so soft." She says. One of her arms are hugging me, and the other is ruffling my hair. I laugh, but not a real laugh. More like a tiny chuckle.

She smiles and says, "You have a beautiful smile, Niall."

"That's not true." I say with a smile that I was trying to hide.

"Don't try to hide it, Niall. I can see you." Selena says. I look up at her. She is smiling.

"You are the one with a beautiful smile." I say. My tears have stopped. "You know what, Selena?"

"What?"

"You remind me of Liam. You are so comforting." I say. Selena smiles and opens her mouth to say something. But suddenly a sobbing Louis walks into the room.

"Selena..." he says, trying to wipe his tears away. "I miss Liam." Louis falls onto the ground a sobs. "It.. it's all my fault." Selena got up and walked over to Louis, ruining the comfortable position that Selena and I were in.

"Louis look at me." Selena says. Louis looks at her. "It's not your fault."

"Yes.. it is." More sobbing from Louis. Apparently, I wasn't the only really sensitive person in the group. Because I had never, ever, seen Louis William Tomlinson breakdown in front of me like this. Louis was supposed to be the funny jokester of the group. But from what is happening in front of my eyes, Louis had a dark side, after all.
