Mommy's Boy

“So when is his birthday?” Harry asked me as I buckled Clayton into his seat.

“February 21st.” I said as I buckled myself in.

“What’s his favorite color?” Harry asked. I told him it was green, then he asked me if he liked superheroes. I said yes as I put my phone on airplane mode.

“Do you think he’ll like me?” Harry asked me nervously.

“He’ll love you.” I said giving him a reassuring smile.

“God I hope so. I was wondering if you would think about moving back to London after this trip.” Harry said approaching the question I was dreading.

“I would love to, but our life is back in the states. My job is based there, my family and basically everyone Clay knows are in the states.” I said and Harry sighed.

“I understand.” He said before going silent. When they plane began to take off he was still silent and Clayton was asleep.

“Hey smexy.” Nathan said as he walked past me to the bathroom once we could stand up. I laughed and rolled my eyes at my best friend.

“So when are we going to tell Clayton?” Harry asked, finally speaking again.

“Are you coming to the hotel with us?” I asked him.

“I can if you want me to.” Harry said as I picked Slayton up and moved him to my lap.

“That would be great. We can tell him then.” I said and he nodded his head. Half way through the plane ride I was fell asleep. I woke up to the captain telling us to buckle our seat belts. I opened my eyes and saw Harry buckling Clayton into his seat and I buckled myself in and waited for us to land.

“So you, Clayton, Selena, and Nathan are going to the hotel first and in a separate car. When you get there text me your room number.” Harry said and I nodded my head. After the plane landed I got my carry on then picked Clayton up and got off the plane.

“Hawwy?” Clayton asked putting both hands on my cheeks and looking at me.

“We will see him later. Let’s go find Aunt Selena and Uncle Nathan.” I said and he nodded his head. I walked over to the baggage claim and saw the two of them.

“Who wants to carry my suitcases?” I asked looking between the two. Nathan said he would carry them and then we walked out of the airport to find someone holding a sign with my name on it.

When we got to the hotel we checked into our suite. When we got to the suite all of us went to claim our rooms.

“Do you like it Clay?” I turned to look at my little boy was toddling around the room I claimed.

“Yay!” Clay cheered and I laughed. I went to the living room and got mine and Clay’s suitcases. I carried them into the room then placed them both on the bed.

“Should mommy unpack now or wait for later?” I asked looking down at Clay. He was too busy taking his shoes off to notice me. I laughed as I scooped him into my arms. I walked back to the living room and both Selena and Nathan were on the phone with their boyfriends. I took my phone out of my pocket and sent Harry a text telling him what the suit number was.

“Tell loverboys I said hi.” I told the two as there was a knock on the door. I set Clayton down then went to open the door. When I opened it Harry was standing there looking at his phone.

“Hawwy!” Clayton yelled as he ran to the door. I’m going to assume the two bonded while I was asleep.

“Hey buddy.” Harry said picking him up then walking into the suite. Harry gave me a look as he walked past me and I nodded my head.


“Guys. Harry, Clay, and I are going to talk in my room if you need us.” I said before leading Harry into my room. I closed the door and I sat on the ground with Clayton on my lap while Harry sat on the bed.

“Hey bud. Can you look at mommy please?” I asked him and he gave me his full attention.

“You remember when mommy told you daddy went bye bye for a while?” I asked him and he nodded his head. I looked up at Harry and he was holding his lips in between his hands.

“Well daddy is back. Harry is your daddy.” I said and Clayton looked between Harry and I.

“Hawwy me daddy?” he asked me and I nodded my head. He stood up and walked over to Harry. Harry picked him up and sat him on his lap. Clayton stretched so he could reach Harry’s cheek and then he kissed it. I smiled at the two then decided to let them have time so I walked back to the living room closing the door behind me.

“How did it go?” Nathan asked me as I literally plopped onto the couch.

“It went fine. I was expecting worse, but Clayton just accepted it.” I said and both Selena and Nathan smiled at me.
