Envy (Niall Horan) [BOOK 1]

I drop into my bed exhausted. My fingers are sore and I just can't grip onto anything anymore. People don't understand how exhausting being a maid actually is. Twelve hour days, five days a week. I feel drained, but I have to live with it.
I quickly get into my shower and clean myself up. I close my eyes and hum as the warm water hits my face. Showers are one of the most delightful things in life. Well at least to me. It takes all my stress away and I love how I can just be by myself...
I shut the water off and get out of the shower, I change into a tank top and some comfy shorts. When I leave the bathroom I lay in my bed and just stare at the ceiling. Thinking about how my life is just....depressing. My mind goes back to reality as I hear a key unlocking the door. Sofy comes in. I'm a maid at a hotel called Gold Fortune.
Gold Fortune's a pretty nice hotel. Sofy and I are sort of roomates... The hotel lets its staff live here even though we don't get extravagant rooms like the guests do. The small rooms are near the kitchen in the first floor and each room has two beds and a bathroom. We have to pay rent ofcourse, but it's not really that expensive.
Now about Sofy. Sofy works in the kitchen and kind of a master chef. She makes the best chicken alfredo ever.
I see her enter the room looking pretty tired but not to the point of total exhaustion like me.
She looks at me, "tired?"
I just nod my head slowly.
"How many hours" she asks.
"Twelve" I retort.
"Why do you work so many hours Eli? Your starting to get dark circles and a little pale.?",
"Need the extra money" I reply.
She nods her head in understanding and heads to the bathroom to take a shower.
Sofy's pretty nice. Even though we don't talk to eachother alot I can tell she cares about me.
I look back to the ceiling and hear Sofy singing in the shower. I chuckle to myself. Whenever Sofy sings in the shower that means she's excited about something or someone. Sofy's been dating this guy named James and she's pretty in love. I've never seen James, but what Sofy has told me about him, he seems nice. I wonder how it must feel to be in love. My mother used to tell me when I was little that love is as soft as a kitten, as tempting as a delicious cupcake, warm like the hot summer breeze, and as perfect as the stars in the night sky. Her words left me in awe and actually made me want it. Now since I'm older....well I don't think that exists. This 'love'. I shrug at my thoughts and begin to think about what I should do to pass the time.
I decide to put on a jacket and pants and take a walk around the hotel to take my mind off things. I don't like it when my mind is suffocated with different thoughts all at once.
As I walk past the rooms I slowly look at the numbers. 28, 29, 30 ,31. Then I notice how room 32 is open. I peek inside and see how the room is empty. New guests im guessing. I keep walking and I notice how rooms 48 and 52 are opened and empty as well.
"We must be getting many guests this week." I say to myself.
I stop and stare at one of the rooms. It's a masters suite. It has a large kitchen with two king size beds, a big wardrobe and closet, and two bathrooms. It's such a magnificent and expensive room.
I stare into the room again thinking about the type of people that get to stay in a room like that. Their lives must be great. Not having to worry about bills and paying rent because there so wealthy. I stare at the large empty room one last time and continue to roam the hotel.
