Angels Wear Black
Why did you move to London if you're parents are in New York City?
“Great work today.” Harry said.
“You too. I’m shocked at your somewhat mature behavior.” I said, as we walked into the cool autumn air. We walked down the street, hand in hand, of course.
“So, why did you move to London if you're parents are in New York City?” Harry asked as the sun began to set in the distance. I looked at our walking feet, in sync as we walked down the crowded road ahead.
“I was stupid.” I began. He tilted his head. I could remember it all, clearly. “I wasn’t the coolest person in the school. Just the richest. Well, one day, my friend invited me to her house.”
“So they sent you here because of that?” I shook my head. We sat on a staircase. And watched the sun give off light for the last time till dawn. The air grew chillier. And it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight. Harry took off his jacket, and wrapped it around me.
“No. Its what I did that sent me here.” His face turned firm. Dead set on getting the truth. “My parents weren’t big fans of letting me go to friends’ houses. So, of course, they said no. I fought with them. But it got me grounded. I spent the rest of the day in my room.” Tears formed in the corners of my eyes. “I snuck out, Harry.” He looked at the ground, not liking what he was hearing. “I snuck out. And went to a party.” He looked at me, surprise in his eyes.
“Did you?” His voice was quiet, and shaky.
“Drink? Yes. I...I don’t know why I did. But, I did. And soon enough, I woke up, outside. With no memories of what happened after three. And no friends. My friend ran away. Guess the police showed up and didn’t catch me until morning. At least, that’s what the officer said.” He nodded. And stood up. He looked at me, and extended his arm towards me. I took it, and he lifted me up. “Harry, I get it if you-” He smiled.
“I love you. Nothing can change that. Everyone makes mistakes.” He said. He kissed my cheek. I smiled. Then, we heard a sound. I jumped. Harry walked down the alley.
“Harry, be careful.” I said. He nodded. My heart thundered in my chest. And everything around me went silent. Harry bent down, and all I could see was his white T-shirt, barely visible in night air. He walked back, something in his arms. He had a smile on his face. “Harry, what is that?”
“This, is our new kitten."
