Part of You
Perrie's Worries
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hailie’s POV
My last class was math. I apprehended that moment of my day, especially because Perrie and I had a special discussion this morning. That thought spread shivers down my back: I hate arguing with one of my besties, especially Perrie. We look alike mentally. So when we debated on a point, it always ended up fighting. Sometimes, we gave up by laughing at our pathetic scene. But in the bathroom… No. It was about Lily… I couldn’t just let it go.
Eleanor talked to me before Perrie entered the class. When she did, Perrie just went at her usual desk, speaking to no one. That fight really hurt her. Eleanor was updated about our little conversation and was trying to be neutral, so she went to see Perrie. I talked with Niall instead. We are not the kind of girl who’ll just talk poorly about our friends.
I decided to join Perrie at her locker after I did my bag. I don’t owe her excuses. She needs to explain herself, so do I.
As I walked to my destination, Harry was walking in the opposite direction.
‘’I’ll meet you outside so we can walk together back home? Hey, my friends meet up near the bus. You can join them if you want.’’ I said.
‘’Okay, see you shortly!’’
I could see Perrie at her locker. She seemed really mad. I breathed loudly, trying to inhale all my courage to confront Perrie. I rested on the locker just beside her. Here we go.
‘’Hey.’’ I said, with a weak smile.
No answer.
‘’Listen… Perrie… I hate argu-’’
‘’No. You listen here.’’ Her eyes were now locked on mine. Her blues orbs had a veil of anger. I swallowed, a little scared. One thing you need to know about Perrie: do not irritated her.
‘’It’s been five years. Five fucking years and you still did not let one tear drop off your eyes. It’s not good for you Hailie! I… I’m tired to see you like that!’’
‘’Like what? I’m alright now Perrie!’’
She laughed darkly. ‘’You think people don’t see you’re still broken? Fine, they are all blind. Sorry to tell you, but your wall doesn’t work on me. Either on Eleanor.’’ She sighed. Her eyes were now filed with worry. ‘’I love you Hailie, and I hate seeing one of my besties desperate. Maybe my words exceeded my mind, but I don’t regret them. Someone had to tell you that one day, anyway.’’
‘’But respect my decision.’’
‘’Ah, hell no. Come on, or I’ll miss my bus.’’
She closed her locker and wrapped her arm around my shoulder, and I did the same. At least, we were over this fight. For now.
‘’We didn’t see you at lunch. You ate with Harry?’’
‘’Yeah, I wanted to get out of this establishment of mental torture.’’
‘’C’mon Hailie, you’re too dramatic. Just spit it: you wanted to avoid my beautiful ass.’’
I laughed. ‘’Alright, maybe. Hey, that jean of yours fits you really well! Your butt looks bigger!’’
‘’Oh, shut up. You’re just jealous. Hey, I invited friends of mine for this Friday. It’s what I wanted to tell you this morning, but our conversation took a different path…’’
‘’Perrie, we agreed it will be a small amount of people. How many are coming?’’
‘’Just two guys, that’s all.’’
‘’They better not steal my Hailie.’’
I haven’t had the time to see who joined our conversation: my feet lifted off the ground. My vision was now upside down. I tried to identify who was carrying me on his shoulder. Perrie helped me on that:
‘’You stupid leprechaun! Give me back my best friend!’’
‘’NIALL! PUT ME DOWN! I WANT TO LIVE!’’
We were now out of the building. I could see people staring at us, laughing. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling: Niall wasn’t afraid of people judging him. I wrapped my arms around his torso, holding me from falling. I squeezed him hard.
‘’I barely feel you, Puffy.’’
I groaned. ‘’I hate you so much sometimes.’’
‘’Aw, guys! Hailie just proposed to me!’’
Finally, I was back on my feet. They all laughed and Jayden took my left arm. ‘’I thought you were mine…’’
‘’Huh, excuse me? She is mine, fallows. Better get used to it.’’ Will said and he took my right one.
‘’Are you guys really going to fight for Hailie?’’ Evelyn hissed. ‘’Immature.’’ She turned around and headed to her bus. In a group of friends, there is always one who’s pessimist and not fun to be around. Evelyn is that one.
The first time I talked to her, I just wanted to wash her tongue with soap. Her brain must be disconnected with her mouth.
Eleanor, Perrie and I did not get along with Evelyn. You know, when it clicked perfectly with someone, and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m surprised she’s still hanging out with us. She practically hates everyone, except Will. We just ignored her when she’s whining.
‘’Guys, let me go!’’ I grumbled.
‘You should let her choose.’’ Perrie said, releasing me from both of them.
‘’Yeah. I presented you Will Jensen, the party animal who has no hangover. By the way, F you. Here we have Niall Horan, the infinite stomach. And the last but not least, Jayden Cooley! He has a special ability: he can disappear before you could even tell! ’’ Louis added.
We all laughed. I love my friends, a lot. We are all the same, but in different ways.
‘’Louis, you’re mean: you forgot one concurrent! Harry! Harry Styles, the mysterious new boy in town!’’
We all laughed even more. Harry was embarrassed a little, but he played the game.
‘’To complicated: I’m lesbian!’’
‘’That is SO unfair!’’ the guys yelled. I hugged my friends before walking out with Harry.
‘’I just can’t way ‘til Friday!’’ I clapped my hands.
Notes
-Is the little fight between Perrie and Hailie is really over for now?
