Stole My Heart

The other boys walked off to go help Niall and I leaned back against the wall and closed my eyes. I heard voices coming closer and recognized my friends' laughter. (good to know they were concerned about my well-being)

"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!" Sarah exclaimed in excitement, "That was Niall Horan! NIALL HORAN! You are so lucky!"

Heather was just standing there waving her arms and taking deep breaths.

"What did he say?" Nina asked in anticipation.

"Well... um... he apologized like twenty million times, helped me over here and went to get me stuff for my arm." I tried to keep my voice as steady as possible but you could hear the excitement in it. I probably would have been waving my arms around too if my left one didn't hurt so much.

"Aw, that's so sweet." Sarah said sighing.

"No, he was being polite." I said, trying to make it sound like I didn't care. "Which is more than you guys."

"Hey what do you mean?" Nina asked like she really didn't know.

"You guys don't seem concerned at all."

"We were, but you're okay now." she said defensively.

"And besides," Sarah said in her lovey dovey voice, "we didn't want to ruin your moment."

"Wha...?"

"Oh don't be dumb Laurel," Nina said shaking her head, "when you slipped while you were getting up and he caught you in his arms."

"Oh that, no he was just being a gentlemen." I said, trying to sound like I was positive I was correct.

"Sure." Sarah said, not believing me one bit.

And frankly, I was hoping she was right.
