Stole My Heart

Another week had gone by just as slowly as the first. I walked into the music store today with a smile on my face and a skip in my step. They were coming back today! I braided my hair last night so that it wouldn't look like crap and put on a short-sleeved, light yellow shirt with a pair of shorts and some brown boots. I had actually gone to sleep last night without a million things keeping me up. I felt like my heart was going to leap out of my chest at the thought of seeing them again.

Heather looked a lot better too. She had taken the time to curl her hair which took about an hour, so I could tell she was excited too. Sarah was already there too, but looked nervous and excited, as if she was scared to see them again. I joined them behind the counter and sat down.

"They're coming back today!" I announced triumphantly.

Heather started jumping up and down saying, "I can't wait! I'll get to see Louis again!"

"5 Seconds of Summer are coming too right?" Sarah asked anxiously.

"Yes, Sarah, Ashton will be here."

"What makes you think that I only want Ashton here?" she questioned like she really didn't know.

"Just admit that you like him and we'll all move on." Heather said attempting to persuade her.

"Before we even met them, you used to joke around saying that one day, you would be Mrs. Irwin, remember?" I asked, trying to get her to admit it.

"Fine, I really do like Ashton. But I'm not going to admit that to him and start dating him on a whim." Sarah stated firmly.

"Whatever you say Sarah," Heather said over her shoulder.

We spent the rest of the day taking turns staring at the door - yes we are that pathetic.

"You're nervous." Sarah observed.

"Why would you think that?" I asked confused.

"Laurel, I've known you since sixth grade and I know that you play with your hair when you get nervous." she stated in a matter of fact sort of way.

"It's just that over half of the day has gone by and they're still not here." I said sighing. "What if they're not coming back. He promised he would. Niall promised he would come back and he said today. What if he forgot all about me." Instead of calls every night, I had been getting texts.

"I'm sure that something probably just came up is all. I wouldn't worry about it." Sarah stated, believing every word.

I look at her and sighed.

"And if they're not here today, they'll be here tomorrow." she said confidently. I myself wasn't so sure.
