Like Nobody Else

Jade's P.O.V

"What are you looking at?" I spat at the younger boy. Without speaking, his eyes showing fear, he immediately looked down, not daring to look into my eyes.

"Don't ever look at me again." I told him, knocking the books out of his hand.

"Y-yes J-jade." He stammered, stooping down to pick up his books. As he bent over, I pushed his head down, causing him to fall. I laughed, and headed to my group of friends. We were what you would classify as "Rebels". Ricky, Danny, Shawna, and Sophia turned their heads to me, waving and smiling.

"Hey, Jade!" Danny greeted me.

"We're planning on ditching today, right after 2nd period." Shawna informed me.

"Yeah, there's a sick concert going on, and we'd better go really early or else we'll be stuck with horrible seats!" stated Sophia.

"Oh really? Whose concert?" I asked happily.

"Sleeping with Sirens!" chirped Ricky, seeming really excited.

"Awesome! They're the best!" I replied enthusiastically.

"Yup, see you later, k?" Danny said. We all nodded and headed off to our different periods. Period 1...math. Oh good, I had Sophia!

"So how's you and Danny?" she asked in a whisper.

"What are you talking about?" I respond, looking away, blushing.


"You're blushing! You totally like him!" she exclaimed softly. Just because we were Rebels, didn't mean that we weren't teenage girls.

"Whatever." I scoffed, taking my seat. I hoped she would forget about it all! I had always had a crush on Danny, ever since he accepted me into the Rebels, but I knew he would never like me back. For now, I was just another Rebel, among thousands. That's right, thousands. All Rebels were connected to other Rebels, meaning all Rebels in our city, and others. People call us a gang, I prefer to call it a "constructive club". People can't look us in the eye, and they always clear out when we come around, but that's fine by me. I hated everyone in the world anyways. Besides my Rebels of course. After the bell rang, signalling the beginning of torture, our teacher ushered in a tall boy. He had brown eyes, and looked very nice. I immediately did not like him.

"Class, this is the new kid. Why don't you intoduce yourself, hun?" the teacher took a step back, waiting with a smile.

"Um, hi. I'm Liam. Liam Payne." He introduced shyly.

"Okay, Liam. You can sit by..." the teacher scanned the room. There were dozens of empty seats, but the moment she saw me, she had an evil look in her eyes.

"Jade." She said, pointing to the seat next to me. Everybody gasped, feeling sorry for Liam. As he sat down, he looked at me and gave me a nice hello.

"Talk to me ever gain, and I'll break you." I growled at him softly. Scared, he took his seat, then dropped his eyes to his book. Much better. Smirking, I gazed boringly at the board, while the teacher explained stuff I already knew. I silently was killing myself, itching to get out of my seat, waiting for first period to pass, so I can go to second period, then ditch...for now, I'll just have to wait.

- 2nd Period -

"Jade Evergreen. Liam Payne. Stay here for a bit, I need to talk to you two." ordered the teacher, but her voice was quivering a bit. She knew what I could do, all the staff did. But adults are just as much of wimp as little kids. I groaned, and stayed seated, after making sure everything was in my backpack.

"Please come to my desk." she said walking over to sit down. Oh yay...

"Now, as you know, Liam is new, and he doesn't know his way around. Jade, you are being assigned as his guide. Meaning, you'll have to guide him around the whole day, and you cannot ditch him, or else, your grades will lower in every subject. I don't care how smart you are, I will make sure you can stay in school, forever, flunking over and over!" She exclaimed, giving me this "I will kill you look". My jaw tightened. This was so unfair! Apparently, Liam thought the same thing.

"If you please, Miss, but I don't really need a guide I can find my way around." he stammered quickly.

"Nonsense! You can get lost and be late for classes, and miss out on your learning. Jade will be your guide, and my decision is final. Case CLOSED." she said sternly, signalling the end of discussion.


"But why me? I'm sure other kids would love to guide him around here!" I cried astonishingly.

"Guiding him will help you learn, and possibly..." She was now looking straight at me. "change that awful behavior of yours. Now leave!"

Grumbling, we left without another word to her.


"I am not spending my day helping you." I snarled.


"Gee, thanks. I'm not spending my day with you either!" he complained.


"Let's just get this over with." I grumbled, disappointed by the thought of missing the S.W.S concert.
