The Aftershock

-JOEYS POV-
“Joey you look stunning!” Rodger gushes as he walks towards me.
The other models were already dressed but it took me a bit longer to get rid of the red puffy eyes.
I was wearing short jean shorts and a crop top that had the band of Guns and Roses logo on it.
Even though it’s still winter here, this photo shoot is going to be in the Summer Catalog.
My hair was in beach waves and I had summer-y make up on.
The stylist let me keep my belly ring in.
I will admit that I looked very cute.
“Alright, Zoey is with Harry, Serena is with Zayn, Abigail is with Niall, and Joey you will be with Louis.” Rodger reads off of the clip board.
I let out the breath of relief.
This shoot is supposed to be a “Fun in Summer” shoot so I am supposed to look happy in the pictures.
It shouldn’t be that hard considering I am with Lou, but it would most definitely be an act because the man that broke my heart was standing less than 20 feet away.
Zoey and Harry were up first but Harry looked like he was having a hard time looking happy as well.
He was kind of out of it and I could feel him staring at me in between poses.
They did some cute things like she rode on his back and another one had them pretending to laugh.
Note how I said pretending.
It was quite awkward really.
I was sitting on a random couch to the side of where they taking pictures.
Lou was sitting next to me with Zayn next to him and Liam next to him.
Niall was sitting in front of us on the ground but keeping his gaze on the cement floor.
Louis, Zayn and Liam were in deep conversation while I was staying silent.
“How is she?” Niall finally spoke up but it was more of a whisper.
I didn’t have to guess to know who he was talking about.
“Niall, I don’t think I should-“
“Please Joey.” He pleaded, cutting me off. I sigh.
“She is doing okay. I mean she was depressed for a while but everything changed when she had the baby. Mary Lou is the light of her life. The second after she gave birth, she looked at me and smiled the biggest smile I have seen on her. Ever. “ I grin at the thought of that day.
She really was glowing.
Taking a glance at Niall, I see that he was staring at the ground again with tears pooling in his eyes.
I just can’t wait until Brie tells him the truth….if she ever does.
What happened between them was a nightmare.
So one night Brie went out to a club with one of her other friends and ending up getting drunk.
The next morning, she woke up in some random guy’s bed not able to remember anything from the night before.
Freaking out she went home and cried.
Niall was away with the boys on the X Factor tour but he was due home in a week and a half.
Attempting to keep the night hidden from him, Brie called me freaking out.
I told her everything was going to be okay, you know the usual best friend stuff.
The next week, she found out she was pregnant.
She and Niall had sex the night before he left for his vacation and she didn’t even know if she had sex with the random guy at the party, considering she doesn’t remember anything, so she wasn’t sure whose it was.
Brie knew that she had to tell Niall so the day he got home, she broke it to him.
He screamed, she yelled, he cried, she balled.
It was rough and he refused to let her explain.
Niall left her to take care of a baby with a broken heart.
The week after, Brie had gone to the doctors just to see whose baby it really was.
Not only was baby really Niall’s, but they had found remains of date rape drugs still lingering in her system.
But Brie being Brie, she refused to call him and tell him. She was in denial saying that he never loved her anyway.
He had gone absent when she needed him most so I am not surprised she thinks that.
In addition, I don’t think she would want me breaking it to him without her permission.
“I want to see her.” Niall breaks me out of my thoughts.
“What?” Did I hear him correctly?
“Yes you heard me. I need to see her. I miss her. I seriously can’t function without her.” He read my mind as a tear fell out of his eye.
“Niall-“
“I still love her.” He grumbled frustratingly.
I couldn’t say anything else.
I really didn’t have anything else to add but a sigh.
I didn’t notice that it was just me and Niall now sitting in the waiting area. Louis, Zayn and Liam must have gotten up but I was too focused in the deep conversation and thoughts that I didn’t notice.
“Alright can I have Joey and Louis, please?” I hear Rodger finally calls out.
Letting out a breath, I stand up.
We were the last ones to go so this shouldn’t be too bad.
I meet Louis on the set and he was smiling wildly.
I couldn’t help but give him a small smile while chuckling.
Rodger made us do some cute best friend-like poses and it wasn’t weird considering we were already best friends.
We had done a couple photos where we were sitting on the ground with our legs Indian style while we played Patty Cake and we were laughing.
We did a pose where I was on his back, and we were laughing.
We also did a couple photos where we were making funny faces at each other and the camera….and we were laughing.
Louis made this photo shoot one of the best ones I had ever done just because of his personality.
My favorite picture we took was where Louis was laying on his stomach with his face in his hands while I sat Indian style on his back.
Louis and I were both smiling wildly.
We were almost ready to do the group picture when suddenly something hard slapped me on the back, bursting and getting me soaked.
My mouth was on the floor as I turned to see Zayn with a bucket of water balloons and Liam had a water gun.
Uh-oh.
Before I could protest, Louis had shoved a water balloon into my hand and pointed at the other boys.
Not even thinking, I raised my arm and aimed for Zayn.
It hit him square in the face.
Louis and I burst out laughing and high fived.
It. Became. War.
Apparently, this is what Liam, Zayn and Louis had been talking about to lighten the mood while I was talking to Niall.
Louis already had a bucket of water balloons and a couple water guns of his own.
It was me and Louis against Harry, Liam and Zayn while Niall whipped out his phone and videoed everything.
Rodger even started to take pictures of us while we were laughing and having a great time, forgetting everything else that ha s happened.
I guess I totally wasn’t thinking when I chucked a water balloon at Harry’s face.
Instead of getting awkward, like I thought it would, he laughed and threw one but it missed.
After 10 more minutes of fighting we were all soaked and laughing our asses off.
I was shooting the water gun at Zayn when I felt another stream of water hit my showing stomach.
Glancing to my left, I notice Harry and Liam were all aiming at me with squirt guns while Zayn was throwing water balloons.
I was laughing so hard it was starting to hurt so I ended up squealing instead, which made the boys laugh.

“Smile everyone!” Rodger shouts from behind the camera.
The five boys and I were soaked.
I was in the middle of Zayn and Louis with my arms wrapped around their torsos and their arms were slung over my shoulders. Harry was next to Louis with Niall next to him and Liam was on the other side, next to Zayn.
We did a couple of good shots like that then a few more where all of the five boys where hold me.
Liam was holding my feet, Zayn was holding my calf/knees, Louis was holding my waist-ish area, Harry had my upper torso, and Niall had my head and shoulders.

(A/N: LIKE THAT^^^)
We were all giggling at the funny shot but it wasn’t our idea.
Apparently they will add a little article in the magazine how the boys met up with an old friend.
After that, everyone went to go change.
I changed back into my other clothes and was walking out of the small hallway when I was tugged into a different dressing room.
“What the-“ I started but was cut off.
“Joey.” Harry was staring at my face.
“Hey.” I said dully.
“Look I know that I hurt you but-“
“But what? You hurt me, that’s it. No, wait I lied. You didn’t hurt me Harry, you broke me.” I snap already getting furious.
“I know. And I am sorry.” He sighs.
“You seriously think a sorry is going to fix what you did? You cheated. You can’t take back what you did.” I reply shaking my head at him holding back the already pooling tears. I can’t- no I WON’T cry in front of him. I look down to the floor.
“Joey. Joey, please just look at me.”
Ignoring you.
“Please just let me explain.”
Still ignoring you, you dip shit.
He grabs my face in his hands and makes me look at him.
I can’t help but practically melt in front of him.
He looks even better than he did when we were kids.
He had multiple tattoos and was buff and lanky.
Harry’s long curly hair was swept to the side and his green eyes were staring into mine.
“I know things will never go back to the way they were but can we at least be friends?” I go to decline but he ignores me and keeps talking.
“Look at how much fun we just had. I forgot about what happened back there and I know you did too. I won’t make a move, I won’t try to get with you but I atleast need you in my life. Whether it’s as an acquaintance or something more.” He begs.
”Please.” Harry pleads.
