When everyone was in their tents I pulled out the Black leather bound book from my bag.

I opened it up and began writing.

Dear Diary,

It’s been a while I know; ever since the world went to shit I haven’t written as much, I’m sorry.

It’s just about a week before November 25.

Mum and Dads anniversary.

It would have been 20 years.

20 spectacular years,

Now instead it’s Nick’s anniversary of his death, he died exactly a week and 3 hours before October 25.

I’m having problems Diary masses of them,

Liam is a good guy, but he is way to protective, he want to know everything, he wants reassurance. He is loving, sweet, understanding, and so much more. He would make a wonderful husband/ boyfriend/fiancée in the normal world, the old world but now, I’m not too sure… He can skin and fight for his life, he can fish and hunt and trap. But his love for people gets in the way of his survival, when the building collapsed on him he was going to shove someone they just barely met out of the way. If he called his name he would have been able to move I’m sure. Now I may seem like a bitch but honestly they aren’t blood, they aren’t part of their immediate family, their group.

I would risk my life for any of these boys and Hades because we are part of the same unit. We have become each other’s main family unit. But someone you barely even met? No. You as an individual are much too important.

Liam is too much of a martyr. He needs to realize: we are no longer in our own personal heaven we are in hell; we can’t save people without endangering ourselves.

And then there’s Harry.

Harry is fantastic he can cook, he can trap, he can preform first aid, he has many skills- stitching someone up isn’t one of them but we can work on it. He’s a good swimmer, he can catch frogs and fish, and he can shoot for birds climb trees to collect eggs. He’s cocky and funny and sweet and caring, smart an idiot; he’s understanding compassionate and god I just don’t know… He confuses me. He kissed me and showed me his love so openly at first and now I think he doesn’t love me or he’s backed off…

If Dakota- my best friend was here were here she would have said, “Scarlett don’t be a dumb bum! reverse polygamy! you marry and fuck them all have their babies! It’s not cheating then!”

Oh- I miss Kody.

Harry has so many positive traits that can help us out but so can Liam…

Liam would be perfect in a world where it was work and home, survival a choice when you go camping…

But Harry could be a huge help now and even then…

But, I can’t do that. You don’t build relationships for the past but rather for the present and future.

“Scarlett?” Liam asked from behind me I slammed my diary closed

“Yeah?” I asked

“It’s a little chilly do you want a sweater?” he asked quietly

“No” I replied “I’m coming in, give me a minute to put out the fire.”

“okay” he nodded returning into the tent

I returned to my diary swiftly

And now I need to face the truth, whom do I love?

I need to think who would keep me safest? Who would die for me? And I need to choose the one who won’t.

I hid my diary in my bag and put out the fire I walked into my tent and yawned. I dropped the bag into the corner and pulled off my dirty clothes putting on a t-shirt and a pair of tights. I slid into the makeshift bed with Liam,

“Goodnight Love” He whispered kissing my head

“Night” I replied sardonically

He tried to pull me to him but this time instead of cuddling up to him I resisted, I got as far away as I could and then I faced away.

He took a breath and I felt him turn to face the other way.

And then one lonely tear ran down my cheek.
