Almost Cinderella

Summary

Oh, Hi there. I'm Ella. I bet you wanna read this. Do ya? Well go right ahead. I don't care. I'm warning you though. My life is so extremely cliche I think you might puke. There's a twist to this story though. I'm 17 and instead of living in a luxurious mansion I live in a two story building. The Blue Sky Bakery is my home. I actually live in the basement as my step-mother and sisters live on the top floor. The bakery my dad started is smack-dab in the middle. I guess I should be used to this though. Being on the bottom of everything that's supposed to be great. But the thing is I don't wanna be used to this! Its quite ridiculous. I'm sorry. My rant is officially over..For right now at least. But Alright. I guess I should get to the point. And remember don't say I didn't warn you!

You see my parents decided to name me Cindy Ella. And yea, they are both my first names. This is my name because when my mother was younger her favorite fairy-tale was Cinderella. My problem isn't my name though. It’s that fact that I might as well be living in the damn Walt Disney cartoon. My mother died at childbirth and my father decided to name me the name my mother had always wanted her first daughters name to be. Except with a minor change. My mom had hoped to name me Cinderella, but my dad thought that’d be too embarrassing, so he changed it Cindy Ella. But I've never been called Cindy. Like…ever! Nor do I plant to start. My name is Ella and that's that.

Unfortunately though my father remarried Jen, when I was about five and she was nice…at first. She even had two daughters. Rachel and Rita, they were really nice as well! I felt like I had a real family. My dad had started a successful bakery, and my stepmother was almost like my real mother. Then tragedy struck. My father was walking down the London street late at night coming home. The next morning when he still wasn't home Jen called the police. Who reported not even two hours later that my father’s body was found in a dark alley shot to death. After that death my life became hell. Jen stopped treating me like I was a human being and Rachel and Rita, had become the most snobbish, ridiculously pampered, spoiled brats that I've ever had the displeasure to know. I can’t wait until I’m 18. Jen didn't know this but I've seen the will. The day I turn 18, My father’s bakery business is mine. I only hope I can survive the next year. Although I've never gotten over the fact that my name is ridiculous, I can’t deny how it makes me who I am. Even though I hate to admit it, I really guess I am...Almost Cinderella.
