I Understand. An AU/punk story.

Men are up firing at each other. There are bodies sprawled, lifeless, on the floor. I can't distinguish anyone from anyone else.

The man charges at me, forcing me to scream and run in the fire range. A bullet whizzes by me. It hits my attacker and I can't tell if that bullet was meant for me or him. I feel helpless. I don't see Harry anywhere. Another bullet flies and I dive to the ground under a table, squeezing my knees to myself. I see Rae on the floor a few feet away, I'm to petrified to move.

After watching I can tell that which side everyone is on. The bad guys are behind the bar. Our gang is positioned by the booths. They fire back and forth. The sirens couldn't now be a block away.

I see Niall pop up from a booth and fire at a guy. It his him and covers himself again.

"NIALL!" I scream, he turns to me. Panic stricken. I point to Rae and he goes bezerk. Jumping form the booth he runs in the line of fire and scoops her up. A bullet hits his leg. I scream and run out. Someone screams my name. I ignore it and rush to Niall who collapses.

The fireing stops.....

I turn around slowly....

My capture is pointing a gun at me.

"EVERYONE FREEZE!'' A group of police officers break the door down. No one moves. I raise my hands, not for the police but for the man whos smiling like a crazy person, pointing a gun at my head. Someone scream my name again. Perri. My heart sinks. A sob erupts my lips. I close my eyes.

The officers continues to tell the last man with his gun pointed at me to freeze but he doesn't.

"PLEASE HELP ME!" I scream to the officer, my body now erupting with sobs.

I don't want to die. I can't leave my friends. I can't leave this earth. I'm not ready to die. I can't. It just can't end like this.

''LILIAN!'' Harry screams for me. I don't open my eyes. The gun cocks. A shot is fired.

I wait.

Nothing.

Am I dead?

I open an eye. A familiar face holds a smoking pistol behind the man who had drawn on me. Officer Brawn. A sob breaks through my chest again. The officers rush in. Taking guns. EMT'S rush to victims. Harry screams for em but before i can make a move. An officer grabs my elbows and rips my hands in to cuffs. I shake and cry like crazy. I don't know what to think or feel....

I hear everyone still standing get cuffed and escorted from the building. The man leading me beings me out. There have to be twenty cars parked outside. Officers every where. Even a swat truck. I can't catch my breath and my knees give out.

"Easy there." Brawn hums, half dragging, half carrying me towards the hood of a police car. "You're not being arrested. This is mandatory after this. I know you're innocent. Just breath, Lily." he instructs. But I can't. I don't know who's dead or who's alive.

An EMT comes to me and hands me a blanket and a water. Brawn removes my cuffs. I see Liam being brought out. Thank god hes OK.

A few bad guys are put in the back of cars. No one knows who's the bad or good guy though so everyone is being booked.

Rae is carried out on a stretcher. I scream her name and make an attempt to run to her but Brawn holds my shoulders.

"You need to calm down!" He instructs. How can he expect that? I sob in silence. Perri is cuffed and brought out. Niall is wheeled out on a stretcher. Zayn who's flipping shit is escorted by three swat members. I breath a sigh of relief. Lauren is escorted out. Everyone's accounted for excepet Harry.

I hear a ton of commotion and yelling and finally...

Harry is being dragged out by four swat team guys. Hes bucking and kicking. His head is bleeding and hes calling my name. I jump from the hood but before I can make it a foot, Brawn and another officer grab me.

"You can't do that yet. We don't know who's innocent!" He yells at me. I scream for Harry to look. Just so he knows I'm safe... But my throat is hoarse and my voice fails. I sob and collapse.

"Lily! If you don't calm down we're going to have to restrain you!" He shouts. I shake my head when the cuffs are put back on me. I'm so scared and freaked out. I'm lugged in to the back of a police car. The door is slammed behind me.

He probably thinks I'm dead.....

"I told you I don't know!" I scream at the stupid officer for the twelfth time. I have been in questioning for hours!

"Hey, missy! Don't snap at me! We're trying to find out why those men would attack you!" I stare at him dumb founded. Is this guy kissing me?!

I groan in frustration....

"People shoot each other all over the world, everyday for no apparent reason! Just because it doesn't make sense doesn't mean that innocent people aren't murdered, you prick!" I yell again.

After my 'break down,' I'm brought to the 'cool down,' section of the hospital. I fume and twiddle my thumbs...

After about thirty minutes, Brawn appears.

"How you holding up?" I glare at him. "I know you're mad.. but that was a massacre, a terribly scary scene back there. We had to follow procedures. I'm sure you understand?" I sigh and nod. "Good news is you are free to go. Your friends have already been released. You were kept longest because you were the only one out of the building. We talked to Josh. The story matches up."

I close my eyes and feel a faint smile.. at least none of us were arrested.

I'm un booked and checked out of the hospital, Brawn does it all himself and then walks me to the door.

"My friends?"

"Niall, and Rae? I think it was?" I nod. "Their in intensive care but will be OK. Perri,Liam, Zayn, Lauren and Harry all went home a few hours ago." I swallow deep. Their OK... "I called a cab. I would drive you but I have a ton of paper work." He chuckles and hold the door for me. I say good bye and jump in to the yellow waiting car.

I arrive at my apartment. Everyone's car is there. I run like crazy to my floor. I'm sobbing like a baby before I even reach the door. I swing it open and nearly collapse.

Zayn is holding Perri tight to his chest on the couch, she sobs and hes crying lightly too. Liam sits in the chair, with Lauren curled like a little puppy in to him. Their both somber faced. Then I find Harry. His face is white and his cheeks tear stained. Everyone jumps as I fly in. Perri is on my in a minute. SO is Lauren. We sob like crazy. Holding each other tight.

"I thought I lost you!" Perri screams in to my neck. I hug them both. I hear a weird gagrgle and see Harry looking absolutely defeated staring at me. Zayn pries Perri off and brings her to his room, hushing her as she tries to hold on to me. Liam drags Lauren to Rae's room. Harry's eyes never leave mine. As soon as the doors click he runs at me.

I cry and run at him, collapsing in to his chest. He falls to his knees, bringing me with him. His arms squeeze me so tight I swear it will leave bruises. He chokes on air and buried his head in to me. He then starts crying.

"Take me to bed, please. Take me and hold me." I sob in to his neck. He can barely stand, and stumbles as he lifts me in to his arms. I wrap my legs around him and strangle him with my grip. The smell of him over whelms me.... I could have never smelled it again. He barely makes it to the room before he collapses on the bed, slamming his chest back in to me, engulfing me with his hold in his huge muscled arms. He starts to cry...

"Oh my god, Lilian." He breaks down. Smoothing my hair, I brush his back, my fingers dig in to his back. His hands clench and un clench on my lower back. "I - I couldn't find you! I Didn't know if you were dead!" His voice breaks, I catch mine and realize just how scared he really was..

"I know. I know baby. It's OK. I'm here. We're safe." I hush him. He rocks us back and forth. Harry cries in to my neck. It makes my tears fall even more. As scared as I was... I wasn't locked in the pitch black with my best friends dyeing beside me... not being able to do a thing. His chest heaves.

"Lilian, I - I would be so lost with out you... I don't know what I would do. It was so terrible! I couldn't find you! I was screaming but you wouldn't answer!" He rambles on, his body shakes. I push him on his back and he yanks me down, I cover us in the quilt and dig myself in to his chest.

"Harry, stop. It's OK. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere!" I cry, hugging his chest in to my neck. He won't calm down. I feel so helpless.

"I love you so much. You're never leaving my side Lilian. I love you so damn much!" He stops crying but his body still shakes. My heart brakes at his words...

"I love you too Harry." He sighs and hold me to him. I swear he holds me so tight that he won't ever let go... and I don't want him too!! "I'm not going anywhere. I'm yours and only yours. I don't want to ever be with out you again." I sniffle.

He nods and a shiver wracks his body.

"Never again, baby."
