“Yo, my best friend, best friend 'til the very end...” My phone echoed throughout the room. I groaned, fumbling around with my eyes half open trying to find it. “Hello?” I groaned, looking around the room and realizing I wasn't at home.

“Aye! We're at the house and no ones here. Where are you?” Niall asked. Shit, I forgot he was dropping Cam off today.

“I'm uh...running errands. I forgot when you were coming...just use your key and I'll be back in a half hour.” I lied, getting up and started to look for my clothes that were scattered across Louis room.

“See you.” Niall hung up.

“Seriously Louis?” I mumbled to myself as I kept picking up his clothes instead of mine.

Louis groaned sitting up. “Come back to bed.”

“I can't. Niall is at the house with Cam.” I tossed a shirt at him. “Help me find my clothes, slob.”

“If I help you find your clothes, you're gonna leave me.” Louis pouted.

I shook my head and tossed a pair of sweats at him too, finding my shirt under them. “Ah! Yes!” I grinned putting it on. “Get dressed and you can come see Cam.”

Louis groaned again, getting dressed slowly. “I hate Niall.”

I laughed, running my fingers through my hair before putting it up in a messy bun. “You know he's going to ask us a ton of questions, right?”

Louis shrugged. “So? It's not like us being in a relationship was ever a secret.”

I bit my lip. “We're in a relationship?” I didn't want to question it, but after everything I just wasn't sure what was going to happen or how I felt about it.

Louis limped over to me, cupping my face and touching his forehead to mine. “I want to be with you and only you, for as long as you'll have me.” He kissed me softly, just enough to show me that he cared.

I smiled and pecked his lips. “Come on, Niall is waiting.”

I pulled into the drive way and helped Louis into the house. Niall was sitting in the living room watching TV while Cam played with his cars.

“Boys? I'm back!” I called, setting my keys on the table next to the door.

Cam looked up and ran over. “Daddy!” he smiled hugging Louis legs.

“Be careful! Daddy is still hurt, remember?” I grabbed onto Louis arm to steady him.

“Sorry..” Cam pouted and let go of Louis legs.
“It's okay, buddy.” Louis smiled and messed with Cam's hair. “Let me get seated and we can play, alright?”

“I'll go get my cars!” Cam smiled and ran back over to where he was playing in the living room.

I helped Louis over to the couch and made sure he had everything he needed. Niall was silent, his eyes glued to us.

“I'm going to go make some tea.” I smiled stepping over Cam who was now playing cars at Louis feet.

“Vroom vroom daddy!” He ran the car over Louis foot.

Niall got up and followed me into the kitchen. I could feel his eyes staring daggers into the back of my head.

“Would you just say it already?” I sighed turning around and looking at him.

Niall lifted his hands in surrender. “I have nothing to say.”

“Bullshit.” I scoffed. “You've been staring at me since I walked in the door.”

“Only because you walked in the door with Lou... 24 hours ago you wanted nothing to do with him. Now you're hanging out with him, helping him?” He emphasized 'helping' and gave me another questioning look.

“Alright, alright.” I pulled the kettle out of the cupboard and filled it with water. “I get it.” I set the kettle on the stove and hopped up onto the counter.

“Are you going to tell me what happened or not?” Niall sat down on one of the bar stools.

“We talked.” I smiled. “He opened up to me and we talked. We talked about the past, the present and the future...we worked things out. It was nice. I missed him...” I could feel my smile getting bigger, my cheeks blushing red just thinking about everything we talked about.

“You talked?” Niall asked. “That's it?”

I nodded. “Yep.”

A smirk came across Niall's face. “You're a horrible liar, Mel.”

He knew me so well. I grinned, jumping off the counter as the kettle went off. “What else we did is none of your business. All you need to know is that we worked things out, and we're together again.”

Niall scoffed. “You took him back that easy? And here I thought I knew you.”

“Oh hush.” I stirred my tea. “We worked everything out. It's gonna take some time to get back to the way we were, but we're going to try. For Camden and for us. I want my family back Niall. I can forgive the things he did if I get to have my family. You know how important family is to me.” I handed him a cup of tea. “I know what I'm doing.”

“I'm not saying you don't.” Niall sipped his tea. “I just don't want to see you get hurt again. I saw what he did to you. I love the lad, but the way he treated you wasn't right and I won't sit back and watch him do it again.”

I smiled a bit, Niall was being protective. I walked around the counter and kissed his cheek. “I appreciate your concern, but I'll be fine. I wouldn't of stayed with him if I thought I was going to get hurt again.”

Niall just nodded, getting up from the stool and going back into the living room where Niall and Louis were playing. I leaned against the counter, taking a moment to admire the view. Louis and Cam laughing and playing, sports news as background noise. For the first time in a long time, everything was perfect.
