One Thousand Songs Later

Overwhelm

Lily's POV:

(At school)

"Would you like to request someone for your're tutoring? I have several in mind that would be capable of helping you." The student advisor said crisply; I pursed my lips.

I knew exactly who I wanted to pick. Luke. But I'm not sure how things are going to be in between us. Theoretically, we would go back to the same cute, boy next door type relationship, but there were too many variables that would interfere. For one, we're too old to go through that stage.

"Miss Tomlinson?" Please, this isn't a matter of life and death, tell me who you want or I'll pick for you." She said impatiently, clicking her perfectly painted nails on the wooden desk.

What she didn't realize was that Luke could possibly die if I choose him. The only reason I didn't ask for someone else straight away was because Luke was Kyle's brother. Although they never really got along, how could you hurt your own brother? But I don't actually know who's actually stalking me, and it might not be Kyle.

This is what scared me the most about the situation I was in, I didn't even know who my enemy was; I was trying to hide from someone I had never seen before. Or had I? I don't know. Chills coursed down my body, just thinking about it.

"Can you pick someone for me?" I whispered. The odds were against me, but I wanted to test fate and see if it wanted me to be with Luke, just as he promised it would.

"Luke Ross. He would be the smartest student, and also the friendliest and the most patient." She responded. I could barely believe my ears, Luke was right. I could run as fast and as far as I could but he would still catch up to me. A quixotic smile spread across my lips.

"Miss Tomlinson? Do you have a preference about Luke? He's our best student here and he'd be a suitable choice." I shook my head, trying to pay attention more.

"Would he be in all my classes?" I asked.

"Considering that you missed more three years of schooling, yes, he'll be in all your classes, answering your questions and helping you catch up."

"I choose Luke." I said, biting my lip and immediately regretting my selfish choice.

"Great! Okay, since you have three years to learn in six months, you're going to have to work three times as long and as hard. All weekends and vacation breaks will be dedicated to school work and you still have to get all of your college and high school credit. You must keep your grades up and you need to apply to colleges as soon as possible."

You'd think that one would get a break after they'd been kidnapped and forced into prositution; we'll think again. I'm not even sure if this is possible, but at the moment, I hate Kyle twice as much as before.

"Piece of cake." I said and smiled weakly, following the student advisor out of her office.

"Where are we going? I asked, struggling to keep up with her long strides as she led me to the highest floor of the school.

"This is the senior floor and it's also where most of their classes are. But you have a sightly different schedule than everyone else." She unlocked a door which led to more stairs and steered me up them.

"Since senior year is the hardest year and the tests will be the most gruesome, you're going to have learn all previos years in three months time, leaving three months left for senior year. Each year will be learned in one month, for the first week of each month, you'll complete all given assignments and projects in every class from that specific year. The other three weeks will have tests and studying."

"Where are we?" I asked, a small room revealing itself when she unlocked another door at the top of the stairs. She handed me a key.

"Here is a key for access to this room. This is where you'll be spending most of your time in school and with Luke." She pointed to some of the cabinets.

"These contain all of your textbooks you need for studying and the binders have your assignments and tests." I nodded.

"I will check up on your progress monthly and we'll discuss your schedule changes. But for now, here's your schedule." She handed me a paper that had lots of confusing color coated boxes.

"Considering that you were in all A. P. classes before, you will be learning things too adanvced for most. Luckily, Luke has already graduated and can guide you through some of the college courses you'll eventually take. Now, any questions." I swallowed, this was a lot to take in.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"McKinley Collins." She smiled as if dissmissing herself and strode towords the door.

"I'll send Luke up here. I think he'll be happy to see you again."

"Wait, what? Does Luke know that I'm-" the door slammed shut. I sighed, I'll just have to wait. Slumping into my chair, I observed my surroundings, a small table with two swivel chairs and many cabinets and bins, which were all clearly labeled.

Picking up my schedule along with many other papers on the table, I tried making sense of the puzzling contents. Basically, I won't have any actual classes until I start senior year. I'll be spending most of my time in this tiny room but the Elective classes I have to go to. Which I still need to choose.

Looking at a separate sheet of Elective classes, I circled two: Drivers Ed. (which I was supposed to take as a sophmore) and Gymnastics. And knowing Luke, I wasn't worried that he wouldn't be able to participate with me. He was an all-arounder type guy, meaning he's pretty much capable of everything. Hopefully, he's even capable of teaching me almost all of my high school years because I'm seriously doubting that I could do it alone.

The door abruptly swung open, interrupting my thoughts. I swiveled my black leather chair to face the door, which was one of the few pleasures in the room along with the mini fridge and the microwave.

There stood a guy with light brown curled locks and what it looks like, six feet of charm. He was panting slightly,'as if he had ran up here. His hazel eyes were filled with hope and his hands were shaking with nerves.

"Lily?" His voice struggling to convey his emotion. I didn't realize who he was at first, he looked unfamiliar. I blame my birth family for my dumb blonde moment - I was definitely the smartest in the family being a red head and all.

"Luke." I whispered and swallowed nervously.
