One Thousand Songs Later

Lily's POV:

I stifled a scream and stared at the terrifying note for a few seconds. I need a plan, Ithought as I grabbed the poor bear and ran up to my room. How am I going to explain this? I sighed, wondering how many times I'm going to have to lie to cover up for all these incidents. I hid the head and body of the teddy bear behind my mirror along with the note, setting them inside the boots. This never happened.

Icalmed myself down, persuading myself no one would ever harm a two year old boy. Well at least I hope not. Things like this aren't supposed to happen in real life! They're only supposed to happen in TV shows and movies like Pretty Little Liars! I came up with an excuse for the missing teddy bear and ran back downstairs to talk to Eleanor.

"Eleanor!" I called.

"Yeah?"

"Does Leo have a teddy bear?"

"Yeah."

"Where is it?"

"Here, let me look, we're always loosing that bear..." Eleanor and Louis both rose from the couch and ran upstairs to look for a bear that would never be found. I sighed in relief, at least I know that I'm still a good actor. After an hour of everyone searching for the beheaded bear, Louis concluded the search.

"Well this wouldn't be the first time." Harry mumbled.

"Good thing we bought you extras!" Niall said positively.

"I just can't believe the bear just disappeared, when was the last time anyone saw it?" Asked Liam. No one remembered.

"Where did you store the extras?" Asked Zayn.

"In the closet where all the extra toys are, on the third floor." Replied Louis.

"I can get one and give it Leo, you guys relax." I suggested and climbed the stairs to the third floor. I passed the pool and headed to the storage room, somewhere I had only been to once before. I opened the door and flicked on the lights. I shivered as I stepped into the cool room, I guess the heating doesn't reach this room; the temperature dropped like thirty degrees.

I went through the room, looking for a glimpse of the soft material of more teddy bears. Catching, a piece of bear fabric in the corner of a garbage bag, I triumphantly pulled the bear up by the ear. I screamed and dropped what I was holding as soon as I had picked it up. On the floor was yet another beheaded bear. I shakily rummaged through the trash bag, not find ping a single bear with it's head still intact with it's body.

Now what am I going to do? I thought miserably, as I hauled the garbage back up to my room. Stuffing the trash bag behind my mirror, I thanked Harry at least a thousand times for giving me such an enormous mirror. I sighed as I looked at everything stored behind my mirror, it had been less than 24 hours and there was already a pile of secrets, hidden behind a mirror.

"Eleanor!" I called again, making my way down the stairs. I feel like I just did this. Oh wait, I did.

"Find the bears?" She called from the kitchen.

"We have a tiny problem." I said, doing my best to sound legit.

"What now? Does Leo want a trampoline? I told him he had to wait until the summertime!" Complained Eleanor.

"You know-" started Louis.

"No, we can't keep the trampoline in the entryway, it's unsafe!" Interrupted Eleanor.

"Ignore them," Liam gave me a half smile, "what's the problem?" Liam asked politely. Some things will never change.

"Well, it seems we lost the bag of bears as well."

"Damn it! Seriously?" Harry asked, I nodded as sincerely as possible.

"I'll just have a quick peak." said Zayn, we all nodded in agreement. Zayn went upstairs, leaving us in kitchen, chomping on chips and salsa, listening to Eleanor and Louis bickering about having a trampoline or not. Five minutes later, Zayn came back down stairs.

"Come on boys! Let's go back to the store and buy more bears! Don't forget your disguises!" Called Zayn as he headed out the door. All the boys filed in a single line, out the door, after him.

"So, what's it like having a kid at 23?" I asked.

"I'm in the club, high on purp, with some shades on.
Tatted up, mini skirt, with my J's on!" Sang Eleanor.

"J's on my feet, J's on my feet, J's on my feet, so get like me!" We both sang and laughed.

"No but seriously!" I protested, trying to control my laughter.

"Well I'm actually 24, but it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be." Eleanor smiled briefly then frowned.

"You're 18 now aren't you?" I nodded.

"And Louis and I- we missed that!" Eleanor said sadly.

"It wasn't your fault." I whispered.

"Doesn't matter, this year is going to be the best year of your life. No Kyle. No worries, no nothing!" Eleanor paused, as if wanting to emphasize this.

"But you need to tell us what happened Lily, I know you're afraid, but Kyle is only ten miles away unless you tell your alibi." The hammer was being thrown down so hard and so fast. And I froze.

I can't tell them. Never. Never Ever. He'll escape jail and hunt me down, he's probably in a cell, plotting his revenge right now. No, I can't let him harm anyone. He won't have anything against me if I don't tell. I think I went half crazy because I felt the pressure pushing down on me like I was holding the sky. I fled to my room, scared that my mouth might get the best of me and everything would slip out.

I wanted to tell Eleanor. I really did. I wanted her to comfort me. Cradle me in her arms like I was a thirteen year old girl again, but I wasn't and I couldn't take the chance. Never in a million years.
