The Bad Boy Effect

Gotta Go

Harry's Point of View

“Hey guys, you were great.” Ada said with a smile and then looked at me, “oh and this is Sophia.” Niall’s right, she’s absolutely gorgeous. Ada did good.

“Hi.” She smiled and I shook my hair then quickly realized it’s behind a bandana. I laughed it off,

“Hey, I’m Harry.”

“You guys were really great tonight.”

“Thanks.” I felt nervous, Niall told me if I screw this up Ada will kill me. “Uhh,” Niall pushed me forward, “do you wanna sit? I’m thinking about getting a tea.” She gave me a big nod and we walked to the furthest table. I didn't feel like having Niall and Ada spy.

I pulled her chair out, trying to be the gentleman my mom taught me to be.

“So when did you guys start your band?”

“Not too long ago. I guess a few months. We still don’t have a name though.” I took a sip of my tea and choked. I have never burned my tongue so bad. Sophia tried not to laugh.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, it’s just really hot.” I grinned and she looked down at her tea. “God, it’s hot in this whole building.” Probably because I’m embarrassing the shit out of myself right now. I took my jacket off slowly, trying not to spill my tea everywhere after I just choked on it.

“Oh” she said quietly, but loud enough for me to hear her.

“Are you okay?” I could see her staring at my arm; my tattoos. I smiled at her but didn’t get the reaction I thought. She looked distraught.

“I just didn't know you had tattoos.” Has she never seen me at school?

“Yeah, a lot.” Maybe I’m just psyching myself out. I’m sure she doesn’t hate them. I pointed to the shaking hands, “this is my favorite.” I looked to her once more and she tried on a smile but it didn’t fit.

“I’m sorry, it’s just….I’m not really a tattoo person.”

“Oh” I returned to her. I put my jacket on, so embarrassed. Was this not going to work? I’m actually becoming excited and I've screwed it up before anything’s even started.

“No, don’t put your jacket back on,” we both hesitated—Sophia with words, me with my jacket. “That was totally judgmental and unfair. My dad just hates tattoos.” She laughed and I groaned in my mind. She was sincere, she didn't mean to act rude. She's so much like Ada. This still isn't going anywhere.

“Anyway, do you think you guys will go anywhere with your band?”

I took my phone out of my pocket, “Hold on a sec, sorry.” I got up and walked towards the front.

“Hello?” I said as I looked over to Sophia and smiled.

“Yeah, yeah, no problem.” I returned to Sophia and smiled as she adjusted her beanie.

“I’m so sorry but my mom needs me home. She was supposed to come tonight but got sick so I have to—“

“You don’t need to explain Harry” she laughed, such a cute little laugh; kinda like Ada’s. “I understand.” She stood up and gave me an unexpected hug. “Maybe we can hang out tomorrow night.” I’m supposed to invite her to Maggie’s party.

“Uh, yeah. Maybe.” I smiled and she walked out. I can see why she’s a part time model.

I shoved my phone back into my pocket and sat down, throwing my head into my hands. I’m such an idiot.

“Where’s Sophia?” Niall asked as he sat across from me.

“She left.”

“What? Why?”

“I told her my mom called and I had to leave.” I felt a hand smack me on the back of the head.

“What the hell Harry! Why’d you do that?” I really don’t need this from the two that crushed my heart. Ada grabbed a chair and waited for an explanation. I sighed and took my bandana off, brushing my hand through my hair—which really needs a trim.

“I don’t know. I took my jacket off and she started saying how her dad hates tattoos. It’s just not going to work. Sorry guys.” She smacked me again.

“Stop being an ass! It’s not like you’re going to get married next week. You probably won’t even meet him for a while!”

“Yeah, come on lad. You didn't even give her a chance. You literally sat with her for twenty minutes.”

“Ahhh” I grunted. “I’m just better at not caring. The only person I actually care about is—“ I stopped, realizing I was telling the wrong people my thoughts. “I’m just not good at this.”

I stood up and Ada followed, pushing me back down. “You,” her index finger pointed towards me, “talk to him.” She then pointed to Niall. “Both of you figure it out. She’s going to Maggie’s tomorrow night. And if she doesn’t, it’s because you’re on a romantic date with her and that’s final!”

Ada glared at Niall and then me. Why was she pushing this so hard? Oh yeah, it’s Ada.

Notes

This is so short I know! I'm watching this football game but when it's over if I have a few more subscribers I'll update with a longer chapter later tonight!

What's going to happen with Sophia?
Is Harry going to go for it or just give up?

Keep commenting, I love what you think!
