~Harry’s View~

It was late by the time I finally arrived home. I was still collecting my thoughts and thinking about my conversation with Andrea. I need to help my kids, there still going through the pain of losing one of the most important people in their lives, their mother.

I put the key in the door, turning it slowly not knowing what to expect from Nick and Maya. Do they hate me? Do they never want to see me again?

I walked in seeing two sleeping bodies on the couch with the TV on. I noticed they were watching homemade videos from when they were younger. Peyton’s voice filled the house and I began to relax.

It was the video from Nick’s second birthday party, he was on her lap and they were opening gifts. I remember the gift we had bought him, a mini guitar so he could pretend he was in the band with us. When he opened the gift his face lit up and he said “I can be like daddy now.”

I sat down on the couch watching the rest of the video. Looking at my two sleeping kids on the couch and how our lives have changed drastically. Just hearing Peyton’s voice brought tears to my eyes, and I broke down, just crying. I put my hand on Maya’s back and rubbed it as she seemed to be in a deep sleep, she always loved when I did this when she was younger.

The next video that played was my wedding video. I was tempted to just turn it off knowing the pain I would feel, but then again maybe it would bring me back to reality.

Flashback

It was time to say are vows.

“Harry Styles, do you take Peyton as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?”

“I do, forever and ever”

The priest then turned to Peyton and said,

“ Peyton McKenna, do you take Harry as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?”

“Yes, Yes, Yes! I do!” she smiled as I put the ring on her finger.

The priest said “I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.”

I watched the video, and it all felt so real again. I didn’t realize that Maya sat up next to me, just staring at the TV.

“She was really pretty wasn’t she.” She whispered to me quietly.

“She was, and so are you.” I told her kissing her forehead. She surprising didn't move away, but came next to me and sat on my lap.

She just cuddled up into me, and I held her closely like she was still a baby. Her sobs made my shirt wet, but this was good she needed to get all of her emotions out of her.

“I don’t want to be bad anymore, I just want you to be proud of me, like you’re proud of Darcie…” she managed to say this between sobs.

“I am proud of you, and love you Maya. You can’t turn to drugs and alcohol though, you’ll hurt yourself and I just want you to be the best you can be. There’s no comparing you and your sister, I love you both the same and your both very special to me.” I told her.

She nodded and the tears began to lighten up. “Can you sing to me?” she asked quietly.

I began to smile, “What do you want me to sing?”

“Umm….little things…please”

I nodded and began to sing the song, from years ago. By the end she was singing along with me and the little girl I was knew was back. My baby girl was in my arms and was so innocent.

Nick was still passed out on the couch, but Maya didn't want to go to bed yet, so she put in a movie. In felt good to finally have a little order in my life and my little girl in my arms.

~Darcie’s View~

I woke up, realizing I was still in KJ’s arms. We must have fallen asleep watching the movie; I checked my phone and realized it was 3 in the morning. I jumped up and started to wake up KJ.

Damn, my dad is going to flip out.
