~Darcie’s View~

“Kellen it’s 3 in the morning! Wake up! Come on!” I yelled at the sleeping body next to me, he opened his eyes slowly.

“Oh shit” he mumbled.

I grabbed my bag, I was so mad at myself I should of just drove here myself. I checked my cell but my dad didn’t leave me any messages or even try calling me, which was unlike him.

“Babe, don’t freak out…he knows you’re in good hands…I mean it’s not like I’m some random guy…he knows me.” Kellen whispered in my ear while pecking my cheek. I guess he did have a point, but still my dad wouldn’t like the idea of me sleeping at a boy’s house, especially a boy he knew I had feelings for.

I grabbed my stuff, and we walked to the jeep. It was freezing out, it seems like it’s been raining so much. Kellen must have read my thoughts because he slipped his jacket over my shoulders and put his hand around my waist.

“Thank Kel” I half whispered, kissing his cheek. He opened my door and I hoped in, thinking about what my dad’s reaction was going to be.

The radio was on, but the volume was low. I knew he was thinking the same thing I was, were going to be dead. My dad was going to flip out and an unnecessary fight was bound to happen.

Of course an old One Direction song came on; “live while we’re young” came through the speakers of the jeep. He looked at me and we both smiled and laughed.

“Do you ever wonder what life would be like if are dads weren’t in the band?” I asked him, closing my eyes as he kept driving.

“Yeah, awful because I wouldn’t of met you…” His response was so quick; I popped my eyes open and saw his eyes staring at me so deeply. I could feel myself blush again, for the 3rd time tonight.

“Kellen I know you want to stare at me, but please keep your eyes on the road!” I slightly yelled at him, as he almost ran a red light. I covered my hands over my eyes, trying not to laugh, but the thought of him almost killing us because he wanted to stare at me, made my mind spin.

“Don’t be a front seat driver, or I’ll put you in the back missy.” He said leaning over to me and pecking me on the lips. Someone beeped from behind us, reminding us that the light had turned green. We both laughed, and continued on the drive to my house which for some reason felt like forever.

As we pulled into the driveway, I already could see the light on in the foyer and a figure standing near the door. It was so dark out it was hard to see, but it didn’t look like my dad in the door.

It was Nick.

Kellen walked me to the door, Nicks eyes were on him like a hawk.

“Sorry Nick, we fell asleep and didn’t realize the time…” Kellen spoke softly. He hugged me, but held the hug. Leaning back, pulling me into a passionate kiss. “Goodnight beautiful” were his words to me before he left.

“If you’re going to tell dad tomorrow, that’s fine. Just remember I always have your back…” I said, pushing past Nick, heading towards my bedroom.

“I’m not going to tell him, I just wanted to make sure you got home safely, I uhh- got worried.” Nick mumbled to me.

It then hit me; my younger brother was looking out for me. He loved me.

“Thanks Nick, goodnight, love you” I told him, making my way upstairs.

“You too” I heard him say quietly.

He might have just messed up, but it was me who had to guide him on the right path.

My mom would want me too.
