~Harry’s View~
I hugged Maya and just held her in my arms for a while. She was silent, frozen, and lifeless.
“Maybe we should go talk to someone about this…” I told her. She lifted up her head and just looked at me; her eyes reminded me of Peyton’s so much.
“I don’t need to talk to anyone, I’m not crazy” was all she said to me.
“I’ll go with you, Maya you can’t keep holding everything in, you don’t communicate with me and I can’t have you like this.” As I told her this, she just shook her head.
“Have me like what?” She looked up at me and asked.
“Distant, just tell me why you hate me so much? Why did you go out drinking last night? Just why?” I spoke softly and was just really trying to get through to her.
“You wouldn’t understand…..can I please just have my phone back?” She asked softly. I handed her the phone and she walked past me, tears forming in her eyes.

My dad and I went out for breakfast, honestly I feel bad for him. Maya has been giving him such a hard time lately and I don’t know how to fix it. I really need to talk to her but she always gives me an attitude.
Kellen and I had an amazing time last night, he was honestly just perfect. I don’t know what Julian was talking about, Kellen could never hurt me. I took a quick shower and slipped on a comfy outfit. My phone started to ring; I heard the lyrics of “Wings” by Little Mix, such a perfect ringtone. The text was from KJ, my heart started to race as I slid the tab to open up the message.

Kellen: Hello beautiful….are we going back out tonight?(:
My heart was beating, I was so excited, and I started to jump up and down. I was acting like a two year old but this was the best feeling.
Me: sounds perfect! where are we goin?
Kellen: we can just chill at my house, that alright babe?
Me: that’s more than alright…pick me up?
Kellen: I’ll be there at 7 babe
I ran downstairs and tried to find my dad. “ Dad! Guess what! Kellen asked me out again!”
“That’s good Darcie! He’s a good kid; do you happen do know where your brother is?”
Now that he mentioned Nick, I haven’t seen him yet today, I know he slept out but it was not like him.
“I’ll text him dad, don’t worry I’m sure he’s fine!”
“Thanks Darcie” was all he said. I started to walk back to my room.
“Hey Darcie, do you think I’m a good dad?”
“Dad, of course! You’re the best, you give us the world, don’t be too hard on yourself…I know Maya’s been….well…distant…but she’ll come around….maybe she just needs space?” I told him this, a little grin appeared on his face but I could sense he wasn’t himself.
“Dad do I remind you of mom?” He looked a little taken back, and waited a minute before he answered.
“Every little bit of you Darcie, every little bit…I miss her you know…”
“Yeah I know….I miss her too….” I said as I walked into my room. Leaving him alone in the hallway, I guess every family has a different story. It just feels like mine always has to deal with the hardest things imaginable. I shut my door and sat on my bed.
“Mom, is this the way it’s supposed to be? Is dad supposed to find love again? Is Maya supposed to be miserable and am I meant to be with Kellen?”
I realized I wasn’t going to get a response, she wasn’t here. She’s gone. It’s been so long yet, I still remember when she died like it was yesterday. I was so small yet I remember the tears, all the black, the funeral, and most of all the look on Maya’s face when she was five, when we had to explain to her what heaven was, and how our mother is there.
