Chapter ten
Skylars POV two weeks later
Today I had made the choice to take the boys with me shopping for groceries. Normally I would leave them with Niall or Sonny but Niall had to got to the studio and Sonny was at a job interview. So I took a deep breath and got out of the car. The cameras continued to flash as I opened the back of the car and opened the stroller. I placed Al in the seat that faced me and did my best to block him with my body. I got Josh out and placed him on my chest carrier, I placed his seat in the front of the stroller and covered him with a reciving blanket. I Looked down and pushed the stroller to the doors of the market. I knew I should have just drove the extra forty minutes so I could drop them off to my brothers. I was in a bad mood and I felt like shit but when there is no food and you live twenty minutes from a freaking store you had to go get food. I walked into the door and literally but my tounge as a pap got I don't of me smiling falsely and pushing past. When I got inside I ignored the people trying to discreetly take out picture. Josh was asleep and Alex was playin on my phone covered by the sun visor. I didn't mind people taking pictures of me and talkin shut but my kids were off limits and I did my best to keep it that way. I gathered my things quickly and was about to go to the register when a little girl probably about Al's age pulled on my jeans. I looked down and smiled.
"I'm sowwy to bug you, bwt I was wondewing if I cawn pictwer wif you Awex?" I smiled and crouched down to her level, "he coot!" She exclaimed and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Sure sweetie! Do you have a camera?" She handed me a droid and I had no idea who to work it but saw the camera button and thought is start there. I pulled Al out and he smiled I the little girl.
"Hi! I Alex! Who you?" He asked.
"I know who you! I Brooke!" She exclaimed and they laughed. I smiled as te hugged eachother and took a picture on my phone and the girls. Brooke. Cute name!
"Ok smile little ones!" I quickly took the picture and gave Brooke the phone back. Al took her hand and I took another picture on my phone.
"Where you mommy?" Alex asked Brooke. She looked down sadly.
"My mommy went heaven last yew," and the she looked up and smiled. My heart stopped for a moment and I felt like I could cry holy shit! I'm so fucking hormonal!
"Where is your daddy at Brooke?" Asked softly.
"Aftew mommy left daddy misseded hew so muwch he weft me and went wif mommy," she said quietly. holy shit this kids been trough so much.
"Who's here with you sweetie?" I asked calmly even though I wanted to cry.
"Whammy," she said smiling.
"Does your granny know you left her? Does she know you took her phone sweetie?" I asked rasing my eyebrows. Before she could speak a woman around my mothers age came running over and picked her up hugging her to herself.
"Young lady! Don't you ever do that! Do you understand? Grandma was so scared!" She lectured, "I'm sorry! She asked me to come say hello but I could imagine you would want more attention with you little ones around than you already have," she apologized and I just smiled and shook my head.
"Don't worry about it. She's such a sweetie and was so very polite and well mannered." The lady smiled and dived looking to her granddaughter sadly.
"Mommy and daddy where wif me. Mommy and daddy know where I was." Brooke said as she looked at her feet.
"I know sweetie, but remember how we talked about, that you can talk to mommy and daddy and they hear everything you say to them but they can't talk back? Well sweetie they couldn't tell me where you went. You can't do that okay?" I smiled sadly.
"I should really get going, but thank you so very much for the cute pictures! And it was nice meeting you both. Goodbye Brooke, goodbye," I paused not knowing her name.
"Kate," she smiled.
"Goodbye Kate." I smiled and turned it the check out.
When I walked out I smile politely to all of the paps and put the boys into the car as well as the groceries. When I went to get into the car someone grabbed my arm. What the actual fuck? I turned annoyed and saw a fucking pissed man. Shit.
"Didn't think that was the end did ya doll?" He asked in his thick British accent. Well fuck! I'm screwed.
"Get the fuck off a me Logan." I felt him squeeze my arm harder and I just cringed. I would not let him get easier out of hurting me.
"Watch your fucking mouth bitch." He spit at me. I should have kept my mouth shut. I was not letting him anywhere near my sons. I had kept my voice low. And so had he.
"I said get the fuck off Logan!" I screamed. He squeezed really hard and one of his hands let go. I knew he was going to slap me. Or punch me. He had sqeezed so hard my arm hurt. There was no more blood in it. All of the sudden his hand was off of my arm and blood came rushing so fast it hurt and I held in a scream. When I looked over three of the men paps had pulled the angry man off of me and beat him unconscious while a few of the others were on the phone with the emergancies. I breathed scared. As the men stood over him one of the woman paps came over to me.
"Are you alright Mrs. Horan?" She placed her hand on my upper back. I nodded in sure.
"Th-thank you," she smiled timidly at me.
"I have no don't you could have handed this but jack, time, and Jake aren't ones to stand around. And watch you suffer. I wasn't going to let anything happen. I'm sorry if we intruded," she spoke quitley.
"No thank you for doing it." I smiled sadly and felt my phone vibrate. I pulled it out and saw Niall was calling me.
"He-hello?" I asked trying to sound sure and fine but my voice crakee and I realized I had tears in my face. Fuck.
"Skylar? What's wrong," he stated not really asked.
"Do-don't worry honey. But um you know how I went to the store?" I didn't wait for him to reply, "well on my way to get back into the car after loading the boys and the groceries, Logan showed up," his breath sucked in and he angrily groaned fuck," he was going to hurt me, slap me when I talked back but some of the paps pulled him off me and some called the police and they best him uncounsious, and then one of the female reporters came and is standing with me until the police come," as I was speaking g I heard a car start and an engine rev and tries squeal.
"I'm on my way baby. Are you and the boys ok?" I just 'mhumed' scared my voice would betray me. I could hear sirrens and I suddenly felt scared again, as I watched Logans body move a little. I shank back and te reporter wrapped an arm around me southingly. She mourned southingly words as I turned my head. When I looked back Logan was knocked out again. I soon saw a Familiar car. Sonny. She jumped out and ran over to me kicking Logan's body once on her way over. She murmured to me but as soon as I knew my boys were with someone I knew I passed out into their arms.
Niall's POV
I just got out of my meeting with the boys and was walking toward the parking garage. I called Skylar to see if she wanted me to bring some dinner home. When she answered she sounded like she was crying. Fuck! She told me Logan was there and same paps knocked him out. Thank fucking god for paps! As soon as I hung up I called sonny because I knew she was only minutes away, then I called the boys and her brothers. I called her parents telling them to go to the hospital that I knew she would go to. Sonny texted me that she got there and as soon as she arrived Skylar passed out into her hands. She had the boys and was following the ambulance. They took Logan into another one and re was cuffed. We were pressing charges for millions and getting restraining orders and they were havin drivers and body gaurds. Not up for discussion. I sped and twenty minutes later I hit the parking lot. I dropped my keys with the man and he gave me a ticket. I nodded and went to the desk.
"Skylar Horan please." My voice strained as I anxiously waited for her to find it.
"She's in room 345 third floor sir," I smiled thankfully and practice sprinted to the elevators. I waited for five seconds then bounded up the stairs. And ran into her room with out knocking. Thank god. She was hooked up to an IV but that was all. She had a thing on her finger and a blood pressure cuff but no other tubes stuck I to her body. Sonny looked up.
"He apparently cut her in her upper shoulder. We didn't know until she fell on me and I felt warm liquid on my chest. When I looked I saw a rip in her shirt. She didn't even know but when we got here they went into immediate emergency surgery to remove the glass. That prick? His in coma on the gith floor, there are police with him always and he is chained to his bed." I walked to the other side of the bed and saw her bandaged upper arm. That. Mother. Fucker! Al was passed out in the large window seat with a warmed blanket and Sonny was feeding Josh. I loved my cousin. I walked back around and took Skylars hand laying my fore head on her and Is hands. I let the tears fall freely. The door was locked on and then four angry and fearful older brothers rushed in. I looked up and then placed my head back down.
Nate's POV
Niall called and told us what happens we sped and made it in thirty minutes in what should have been a fourt five to fifty minute drive. When we got to her room we knocked and ran in. Niall was bent over his had joined with our sisters hand and when he looked up his fce was puffy, his eyes red. He looked like shit but I couldn't blame him. I looked over and saw his cousin holding Josh and Al was passed out In the window. We thought that Logan ass was smart enough to stay away but guess not. Fucker. I touched his back and looked at him asking for answers.
"Logan stabbed her upper arm. The paps took him out. She didn't know. When we got here they did surgery and removed the glass. She should wake up soon," the girl. Spoke softly. I think her name is Sonny.
Skyalrs POV
I could hear voices and a machine beeping softly. I heard sniffle like someone was crying and my arm hirt like a bitch. I slowly opened my eyes and turned my head seeing the sniffle were coming from Niall who was bent over our joined hands crying.
"Ni? What's wrong?" My voice came out strangled and horse as my throat was dry. Niall didn't seem to mind and neither did anyone else as they all broke into smiles. I tried to move but felt a tug and winced when I realized I had an IV. A knock came and the doctor entered.
"It's nice to see you have come to Skylar. I need everyone to leave please? The young boys who is sleeping can stay but the rest of you need to leave for a moment please," he smiled politely as Niall took josh and they all left and shut the door behind them.
"So tell me what happened besides what I already know because obviously something major happened if I'm in the hospital," I laughed it off. He told me and my jaw probably hit the ground.
" I also need to tell you that when you came we took your blood and ran it to make sure nothing was wrong before we put ou under normally and what we found made us have to put you under in a different way. Skylar,"
