Chapter 2
Our top table is small and only holds me with Grace and Bella on my right and Liam and Niall as his best man on my left. Louis and Zayn are sat closely too us on another table. They are both trying to hit on a few of mine and Grace’s friends from Purple Moon.
Liam stands from his chair and the room falls silent. Liam clears his throat and holds my hand in one of his.
‘Now I don’t want to talk for too long as I know nobody likes someone who goes on.’ A few people laugh and I smile up at him.
‘Samii and I met through unexpected circumstances but as we got closer I could feel myself falling for her. We first got together about 2 years ago.’
*FLASHBACK – 2 Years Ago*
I turn the cooker down and walk to the door dragging my feet as I go. I wasn’t in the mood for company so I hope I can shoo the person away pretty quickly.
I open the door and Liam smiles at me. ‘Alright darling.’
The boys had been taking it in turns to check on me every so often since Harry left about 4 months ago. I tried to insist that I didn’t need them too but they were very much like Harry. Stubborn and protective. I was barely even aloud out on my own.
But lately Liam had been coming a lot more then the other boys. I didn’t mind though as I enjoyed his company.
‘I’m fine Liam.’ I lied. I missed Harry.
‘Have you heard from him?’ I ask tangling my fingers trying to seem like I don’t care.
Liam sighs and takes my hands in his. ‘Not for a while.’
My hands instantly warm to his and I don’t want him to leave. I don’t want to be on my own.
‘I’m cooking dinner if you want some.’ I ask.
Liam starts to kiss my hand. ‘I would love to Samii.’
*PRESENT DAY*
‘That night we talked and Samii made me the best pasta I have ever tasted in my life. About a year or so after that I asked Samii to marry me and it was the second happiest day of my life. Today being the first of course.’ Liam continued.
*FLASHBACK – 8 Months Ago*
The night sky was clear tonight and you could see all the stars tonight. It was perfect.
Liam walked out of the patio door and towards me on the bench I was currently sitting on with a blanket around me. He handed me a cup of tea and placed himself under the blanket next to me. Liam pulled me into him.
‘Did you know’ Liam paused to take a sip of his tea. ‘That star is named Samii.’
‘Why’s that then?’ I ask.
‘Because it’s the most beautiful star up there.’ Liam says as he nuzzles into my neck kissing it lightly.
I laugh and push him away. ‘So smooth Mr Payne.’
Liam sits up and looks into my eyes like he is thinking really hard. ‘I love you.’
‘I love you too Liam.’
Liam shifts under the blanket and before I can complain about the cold he is on one knee in front of me.
‘Samii I love you to the stars and back. I want you to be my Wife and I want to spend the rest of my days making you happy. Will you marry?’ Liam pulls a beautiful ring out of his jacket pocket.
My mouth drops open and I stare at Liam before I finally find the words to answer him.
‘Liam it’s beautiful.’ I hesitate for a few more seconds. ‘Of course I will Liam.’
Liam’s smile spreads across his face and he throws himself at me showering me in kisses which make me giggle. He slides the ring onto my finger and places one last kiss on my lips.
And for the first time in 2 years I think of Harry.
*PRESENT DAY*
Liam turned his body so he was now addressing me. ‘You are so beautiful today and everyday Samii. I love you so much.’
Elvis Presley’s voice fills the room as I hold Liam’s arm and he escorts me to the big dance floor for our first dance.
Liam swings me gently around the dance floor as our guests stand around the dance floor and watch.
‘Take my hand, take my whole life too, for I can't help falling in love with you.’ Liam sings into my ear softly and I look up to our guests.
A few of them had tissues in their hand dabbing at their eyes apart from Grace who was in full blown tears being comforted by Niall. Louis is whispering into Zayn’s ear and staring at my friends from their table.
And then I see something I hadn't seen in a long time. A familiar mop of brown curls with the same smirk on his face standing among the guests.
