Dirty Little Secret

Chapter 1

Kate's POV

I wake up to the sound of Niall's stereo playing "Viva la Vida." ugh saturdays. I sit up and my head feels like a thousand pounds.

I feel horrible. What even happened last night? Oh right… Louis's Party. Me. Ashton. That handle of Jack.

We've been hooking up for a while now. Talking to Ashton has been nice, but lately I have been getting bored of him. All he wants to do is hook up with me or get drunk. Not that hooking up with Ashton is bad or anything, I just wish he wanted to get to know me, or at least talk to me more. I've been waiting for him to finally ask me out but I'm convinced he won't any time soon. I feel so insignificant to him. Yet I still like him a lot. I’m hoping he’s just playing hard to get right now, and that sooner or later he will confess to me that he really likes me.

I drag myself out of bed, take some advil, shower and get dressed. Usually on saturdays I hang out with Emily and Lottie but lately they have seemed kind of distant. It must be because I've been hanging out with the seniors a lot lately. I would have invited them to the party last night but Lottie doesn't like to party around her brother. Lottie and louis are the opposite of Niall and I.

I'm so lucky Niall doesn't treat me like I'm 12. Niall and I are very close. We tell each other mostly everything. I'm friends with his friends, and they're all so chill. It's very convenient having a brother like him who is willing to take you to senior parties. Most Sophmores don't go to them.

Niall knocks on my door, and walks in. "Hey me and the lads are going to the clubs tonight if ya wanna join." he says. "Sure I'll invite Ashton… I guess" Niall looks at me knowingly, " 'there something up with you two?" I debate whether I should tell him, but why not? "I don’t think Ashton likes me as much as I like him ‘ya know? I feel kind of pathetic, like I am going after something that I will never get." " Well give it a bit of time and maybe things will turn around. I like Ashton a lot he's a cool lad, but I know how he can be. He has a hard time committing to girls. Just invite him out tonight and see how it goes," Niall says. "bleh fine."

I look at my phone to check my messages, and I have 3.

Ashton: "Last night was fun xx"

well maybe he likes me a little better then I thought...

Perrie: "COME SHOPPING WITH EL AND I"

Harry: "ya coming clubbing with us tonight?"

My last message caught me off guard. The only time Harry ever texts me is if he needs to get a hold of Niall. But it makes me smirk when I see his name, it's Harry styles who couldn't help but smile? He's probably just being friendly, but I have a small hope inside that he's not.

I drive to Eleanor’s house and pick her and Perrie up to go to the mall.

"I honestly have know idea of what to wear tonight'" Perrie says as we walk through the mall doors. "Let's go look in Zara!" Eleanor says excitedly. "yes given! So I have this new Nasty Gal dress I could wear… "Kate you need to look good to impress Harry!" I don't think I heard that right. "what?" I say bluntly.

Harry is Niall's best friend, who is also the hottest guy in the senior class. I have always had a secret crush on Harry but I have never told anyone about it. Harry is the one friend of Niall's that doesn't treat me like his little sister. It is like he sees more in me than just an innocent little girl.
"Oh I thought you knew," Perrie nervously laughs. "explain. now." I say. "Oh. Maybe you weren't supposed to know then. Zayn just mentioned to me that Harry has been talking about you a lot to him lately. and in more than just a friendly way." omg. what. I don't think we're talking about the same guy... Harry Styles is very selective. He doesn't just go for anyone. Much less a sophmore girl like me. " Hah right... like that really happened." I sarcastically say. "Fine Kate don't believe me, but its true." Perrie says.

I debate whether I should tell them about the text. I think its best to keep it to myself. I have a hope inside that something WILL happen between Harry and I, and I don’t want to jinx it.

I can't stop thinking about Harry. After his text, then the conversation with Perrie. Harry seemed even kind of flirty when I replied to his text.

Harry Styles: "ya coming clubbing with us tonight?"
Me: "yesss it's about to be so hype."
Harry Styles: "Yee can't wait… so glad you're coming. I'll see ya there!"

Maybe he's just being nice. Or he's making a joke out of me. I just know he can't be serious. Plus, I don't think Niall would even be okay with Harry and I hooking up. Not that Harry wants to or anything. Although Perrie makes it sound like he does. Harry is Niall's BEST friend. I think Harry knows better then to go for his little sister.

Also to make everything more complicated, I have nothing to freaking wear. I search through my closet but nothing looks right on. Until I find the nasty gal dress I mentioned to the girls earlier. It’s super cheeky, and it makes my bum look very nice if I do say so myself.
I should probably text Ashton or something. I have yet to tell him the plans for tonight.

Me: " Hey are you coming out with us tonight?"
Ashton: "For sure, I'm with Harry right now, I'm just going to go with him."
oooo Harry. I can't help but wonder if they talk about me
Ashton: "You have nice tits"
Ashton: "That was Harry"
Harry. His immaturity makes me smile.

Me: "okay i'll just see ya tonight"
Ashton: "Don't forget to wear something tight"
Ashton: "Harry… again."

Reading the last text gives me butterflies in my stomach. I feel like I am in the second grade crushing on the boy on the playground. How pathetic.

I just can't get my mind off of Harry

I arrive at Perrie's. All the girls are here to pre game. "YOU LOOK SO FUCKING HOT" El says as I walk into the room. Everyone else starts complementing me on my dress. "Ashton's not going to be able to keep his hands off of you!" Mary says. I guess it was a good choice. Hopefully Harry will like it… because I secretly picked it out for him- not for Ashton.
