"you came" Meg whispers

before I could reply...

"umm..Kat..darling we need to talk"

i kiss the top of Megs head and follow the lady through to her office.

Its all pristine and tidy.

"I'm just going to ask some questions, get to know you your story and all that jazz," she laughs, I however am not really amused.

I just nod.

"So age? You 16? Am I right?"
"no I'm 17.."
"Ah...18 when?"
"Next September."
she gives me a fake smile and writes something down.

"So I want you to tell me about yours and Megan's relationship"

im slightly taken aback by this.

"Oh um right..well..we've always been close..actually that's kinda a lie...when we were younger we were very close because we didn't have a big age gap between each other. But we had..well..a big change in our lives..which caused us to grow apart..a lot. We became opposites. Then in the last 5-6 months we've become extremely close."
She 'hmms' and writes down again.
"I take it the big change in your life was your fathers death?"
"Y-yes"
"opposites in what way?"
"she was good..I was..we'll I was..bad.."
"Yes, I have hear your "criminal" as it were records."

My jaw drops. Shit.

"You were arrested age 13?"
"Ye.."
"due to fighting, is this correct?"
"Yeah it was bu.."
"it says here you got into a fight in which several people were injured."
"I was in a bad plac.."
"it has happened twice again since that time.."
"Yeah but.."
"you were taken into a cell for the night for possessing drugs?"
"The charges were dropped. The did a finger print thing. The prints weren't mine. I don't know how they got in my bag!"

She ignores me.

"you have attempted suici.." She swallows her words. She looks up. Pure shock etched over her face.
"ohmy.. Well I..hmm that will do for that.."

She places the Paper down, Picking up another.

"Now I now the situation with you mother, so we need not discus that. Right living arrangements? "
I look at her blankly ,
"do you have a house?"
"an apartment, I just bought it"
"I see...where is this apartment?"
" oh not far from here about 20mins walking"
"and you have a kitchen? Bathroom? Bedroom? Etc?"
"yes 2 bathrooms two bedrooms"
"two?.. Right..and it is quite satisfactory for you?"
"yes of course,"
"right we'll, serious business now.. Kat I think it would be better if you wouldn't come again..seeing the way Meg react isn't right, she has just settled in, I fear you've disrupted her."
