Mak's POV~~

“Harry, you will pull through, I know it. We will walk out of here and go home, get married, and have kids ok?” I said to Harry, whose frail body was lying on the pale hospital bed. He was slowly dying of cancer…this is the first time I’ve been able to really admit it. I’ve been trying to pretend that things would get better, but they weren’t. He keeps getting worse and worse and I just…He is…it’s just hard. It’s hardtop seeing the boy you love slowly drift away until he’s practically nothing.

“Mak, I know that you know that I won’t survive this…*cough*…Please don’t pretend anymore for my sake…*cough*… I know that this is a fatal kind of thing and I don’t want…*cough*… I don’t want you to feel sorry for me anymore; I knew this would be my future…” Harry stopped talking to rest. He’s been doing that so much lately and it scares me to dea…never mind. He wiped a tear from my cheek that I didn’t know had fallen and grabbed my hand in his.

“Mak can you promise me something?” I nodded, not trusting my voice.

“Promise that you will be happy. Promise me that you will find a guy that is way better than me and doesn’t have a terminal illness…” I giggled. Wow this is the first time I’ve genuinely laughed in a long time.

“Promise me that will find another love of your life. I want you to move on, not forget me, but move on, can you do that for me?” he asked complete seriousness in his eyes. My throat got dry.

“Um…I-I…um…Harry…I…”I looked to the floor. Harry’s grip on my hand tightened.

“Makayla…” He never uses my real name, “…Makayla I am serious. You will find a guy and fall in love and raise a family and do cute romantic couple things ok.” That wasn’t phrased like a question.

“But harr-“

“No Mak, you will fall in love again. This is my one dying wish please.” I looked into his eyes, pleading for any other deal, but I guess I do know that Harry’s right.

“Ok,” I puffed out

“Promise me?”

“I promise.”
Harry pulled me into the bed with him and I fell asleep in his arms…Little did I know it would be the last time I did so…

~~~ 3 weeks later ~~~

The tears flowed from my eyes as Anne, Harry’s mom, sat next to me and sniffled as her baby boy was being lying in his coffin. My head rested on her shoulder as I cried into her blouse. I couldn’t fathom how she was being so calm. I haven’t stopped crying since the night he d-died.

It was my turn to give my speech. I have practiced over and over again so I won’t cry, but now that the day is here I don’t think I can do it. I slowly walked up to the podium as I passed Harry. He looked so peaceful. I hope he made it to heaven where he deserves to be.

“Hello, My name is Makayla. How do I know this beautiful curly head boy? Well he is-was my fiancé. He proposed right before he was diagnosed; It was truly beautiful. Harry took me to the beach on our for year anniversary; it was a beautiful beach, secluded, quiet romantic, it was just perfect. He wrote a song for me that night called um You and I. I cried so much that night. Harry was the most amazing person I had the pleasure of meeting. He was kind and sensitive and smart, he was like my guardian angel...well I guess he really will be now...
If you all wouldn't mind, I would like to sing the song he wrote with him one more time?”
I stepped off of the podium and walked to Harry’s open casket. I brushed my fingers along his cold jawline and started the song…

“I figured it out.
I figured it out from black and white.
Seconds and hours.
Maybe they had to take some time.

Oh, y-you a-a-and I…” I couldn’t finish the rest of the song, it’s just too hard. A tear fell from my eyes and landed on Harry’s cheek.

“Harry Edward Styles was my fiancé. I loved him and he loved me; he is gone now but he will forever be with me. I love you Hazza…” I whispered the last but I know he heard me as I twirled my engagement ring in between my fingers. I kissed it and placed in his frozen hands…

“Forever in my heart…” I whispered and finally kissed his forehead as I made my way back down the isle.

I was about to walk out o the chapel when a young blonde man stopped me at the door.

“Makayla? Hi you probably don’t remember me but I was Harry’s old roommate, Niall, Niall Horan. Well, I just wanted to tell you that the song you sang was absolutely beautiful.”

“Thank you Niall, Harry is-was really proud of it.”

“Maybe you could sing the whole thing for me some time?” Right then Harry’s words popped into my head, ‘Promise me that will find another love of your life’ maybe this could be a fresh start…

“Maybe I will Niall…Maybe I will…”
