Little Lux

You're Not Invited

Hadley's POV

The following morning, I woke up bright and early due to the gurgling Lux who insisted on waking up at the crack of dawn.
I scooped her out of the crib and began making my way down to the kitchen to make us some toast. "So Lux, what would you like to do today?", I asked, pushing her hair back from her face. Instead of giving me a proper answer, because she can't talk, she let out a loud gurgle and flailed her arms around in the air.
I giggled, nodding my head and saying, "Yes, that sounds absolutely perfect. Just you and me"

After breakfast, I dressed Lux in something warm for our day out and got us both ready.
I was crouched down to Lux's height at the front door, buttoning up her coat when Harry came trudging down the stairs.
My hair fell over my shoulder, creating a wall so that Harry could not see my face.
"Where are you going?", he asked in his husky morning voice.
"Uhh... for a walk and then a bit of shopping I guess. Not sure yet", I spoke, fixing Lux's shoes.
"Isn't it too cold for that. You're barely wearing a coat", he spoke, sounding concerned.
"Why would you care Harry?!", I spat, looking over at him, "All you care about is yourself. I know that now"
Silence fell upon the room and Lux was looking up at me with big curious eyes. "Come on baby bear", I say, gently lifting her into my arms before grabbing my bag and opening the heavy wooden door.
Just as I began walking down the street with Lux looking around happily and gurgling away, my phone rang.
I brought it into my hands and answered the call, not looking at the caller I.D.
"Hello?", I asked, instantly regretting and thinking that it might be Harry. Or worse. My mother.
"Hadley! How's my baby?", Lou's voice broke through the speaker.
"She's good. She's with me right now", I smile small, looking at my beautiful niece who was peering up at me curiously.
"Can I talk to her?", Lou asked.
"Of course. Lux, you wanna talk to mummy?", I cooed at the little girl who decided to let out a loud squeal.
I pressed the phone to Lux's ear and watched as the most adorable smile spread across her face and she began jumping in my arms excited when she heard her mother's voice.

I almost had a heart attack when Harry appeared at my side, all fresh and ready for the day looking. "What are you doing?", I asked angrily, but quietly so Lou couldn't hear.
"I'm coming with you! You don't think I would let you out on a freezing cold London day when half the world know who Lux is. You don't want to be harassed", he said, walking with me, proud of what he just said.
"The only way we would be harassed is if you were with me. Now leave", I say.
"No Hadley", he said, serious. "It obviously takes you a while to forgive people, so I am doing my best to make it happen quickly. I don't want to be your enemy", he stopped.
I continued to walk and Harry kept to my side. Lux was still squealing into the phone happily at her mother. I laughed at her before she quickly held the phone into my face.

The day consisted of Harry following along as we went for a walk through the park and then did some shopping.
I found some really cute things for Lux and ended up buying them.
Christmas was in a couple of days, so it was overly crowded.
"IT'S HARRY STYLES!", someone squealed.
"Oh shit", he muttered, looking down and walking closer to me.
"That's why I didn't want you to come", I whisper harshly moments before we were absolutely swarmed.
Lux was looking around at all the girls squealing in Harry's face. He didn't look to please.
He took hold of my free hand and took photos with people when necessary. But mostly he was trying to pull us through the huge crowd and into a cafe.
The store owners slammed the door behind us, not letting the girls in, but that didn't stop them from banging on the glass.
"What the hell?", I pushed Harry's chest. "Are you trying to get us killed?"
"What did I do?", he frowned, rubbing his chest.
"Don't go holding my hand in public when you are around overprotective fans", I say angrily, sitting Lux down on a chair as she looks around. She is used to all the fans, and doesn't get as scared as she used too.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't want to lose you", he said to me.
'Well... don't do it again", I say, turning back to Lux.

We were let out a back door and quickly made our way home, by then it was late afternoon.

I stood in the kitchen, making dinner while Harry was playing around with Lux in the lounge room. her loud giggles made me smile.
She has always been an extremely happy baby and has the personality of her parents.
Harry's laugh also echoed throughout the house and as much as I hate to admit it, he is a great god father to her.
