The new start
Chapter eighteen, "The deal"
My heart was beating so fast I thought it would explode in any minute and I sweated like I never had before. What was Summer doing here in Chloe´s apartment? What does she want from Chloe? This game, it was just too much. But what was I suppose to do? Tell Chloe everything? No way. The only way to face Summer in this situation was to play with. So I put on my fake smile.
"Hello I´m Amy. Chloe´s neighbour. Nice to meet you." I said to Summer and I could see how shocked she got. But only for a second, then she had this confident smile I just wanted to slap so it could disapear forever.
"Nice to meet you too, Amy." Summer said and gave me a hug. A hug? This girl was unbelievable.
"Come on inside." Chloe said and I stepped in on shaky legs. Even if my arms and legs were shaky my head was thinking clear. I was going to win against Summer, I didn´t know how, just that I would. I really tried to think positive. Tried to keep out facts like that Summer never had lost a game. The thought that was in my mind was more like: No one would believe her if she said I was a murderer. Not without evidence. Well, at least that´s what I hope.
"Come, let´s go to my room." Chloe said while I was trying to find the right words for Summer.
"So Rosie, are you also new here?" I said and looked up at Summer with an icecold look. But it was too hard to meet her eyes, the look she had, it was not icecold as mine. It was the same look she always have. The one she had when we were friends too. That made me wonder if we really had been friends and even if Summer was Summer she had been my best friend for five years. I really cared about her. But had she ever cared about me? Do I have anyone who cares about me?
"Yes, I came here yesterday. So you´re new too, huh?" She said while she sat down at Chloe´s beautiful bed like she didn´t care about it. Chloe looked uncomfortable but totally blown away by how beautiful Summer was. I just wanted to shake her, show her how evil and mean Summer really was.
"Yeah, that´s right. Are you just staying her for a few days or have you moved her?" I asked really hoping for number one.
"That depends." She said with a bright smile on her lips and I was just about to ask her on what when Summer gave Chloe a look. The look was bitchy and not kind at all. But Chloe was just happy to get look.
"Please go and get some water for us." Summer said and I just wanted to scream to her, stop being mean or something but I couldn´t, not now. Summer wanted something and I needed to give that to her so I could start my new life. Chloe nodded and seemed very flattered that Summer had spoken to her. As soon as Chloe was gone all my anger embraced me like a wave.
"What the hell are you doing here and what do you want to leave?" I hissed.
"Come back it´s getting boring without you! I won´t tell your secret to anyone." She wanted me back? That came as a surprise but I collected myself quickly.
"No, you can´t prove anything." I felt how I was about to start crying.
"I have it all on tape, remember?" She asked and I remembered it to well now. All the memories came flowing back.
"No stop it." It felt like my head was about to explode again.
"If you don´t want to follow me, let´s be queens here, I promise I won´t tell Chloe or anyone and I won´t hurt them either." She said and gave me a challenging look. This was bad. I was furious but what other choice do I have? Except turn myself in. When I was about to answer Chloe came in with three glasses. Her smile, it was so bright and unknown about the world. I needed to do it for her and for everyone here. I needed to go back to my normal life in a new place otherwise Summer would hurt them. This sucked.
"What are you guys talking about?" Chloe asked.
"A video I have. What do you say Amy should we show her?" Summer said and I sighed. Why are you doing this to me god? I asked in my head. No answer. Damn it. This was probably my punishment and let´s face it, I deserved it.
"No, the video sucked." I said and the fake smile was even more fake then usual, not Summers though that smile was pure happiness.
