Behind The Masks

"Hi Liam Payne. I'm Willow Caverly." As I shook his hand, his big brown eyes widened, filled with surprise and happiness.

"You're Willow?" he asked with surprise. Great. Another weird reaction. Am I that weird?!

"Yeah. Why?" I asked as nicely as I could manage. Annie nudged Liam a bit harshly, as Liam rubbed his arm a bit.

"Nothing. Don't worry about it." He smiled, but I could see past his politeness. He wanted to ask something, but something was preventing him, and it wasn't just Annie.

"Um, anyway... I'm going to go to Jacob, so you guys can work out whatever the fuck this is. See ya." My polite cover fully faded away. I walked away, only to be called back.

"Wait, Willow!" I heard Annie call. I turned around and was faced with Annie holding her arm out. I grabbed her hand she pulled me back.

"So, what am I doing here again?" I asked.

"Look, we just wanna get to know you better. We just wanna be your friend, ya know?" Liam said. Creepy...

"Ummmmmmm, I'm not sure about this." I'm honestly just trying to get out of an awkward situation. Liam smiled and took my hand.

"Don't worry. We won't hurt you."

"That just makes worry more!" I sang, smiling in fear. Annie threw her head back in laughter.

"Liam scares everyone!" she laughed.

"Wow, Liam. And you're popular?" He laughed at my comment.

"Not nearly as popular as Niall there!" I looked over to where Liam pointed.

A dirty blonde boy was standing in the middle of all these people. Mainly girls. It reminded me of middle school. He looked up and his ocean blue eyes met my brown ones. He was attractive. Not as attractive as Harry, but pretty damn close. He winked at me, and I rolled my eyes, trying to feign disinterest. I guess it didn't work because he unattached himself from the girls. He made his way over here. Fuck. Even his walk was sexy. His muscles. And his teeth. His hair. He walked up to me.

''Hi there. You're the new kid , right?''

''Yeah.''

''Well, I gotta tell you something. You are really cute.'' Really cute? That's the best he can say. What are we, in 7th grade? What I didn't realize was that I said that last part out loud.

"Don't like really cute? How about unbelievably sexy?''

''How about, go away? Because you're annoying me, you douche?'' I asked, flashing him a sarcastic smile. His, I have to admit, beautiful smile disappeared.

''Hey, I don't think you know, newbie. I'm the king around here. Girls swoon if I call them cute. I called you sexy.''

''Nialler, just drop it,'' Liam said.

''No Liam. I wanna see what's the best Nialler here can do.''

''Yunno, I'm not above hitting a girl.'' I leaned into his ear, whispered.

"Show me." A shiver ran through him and he stepped back. I leaned forward slightly, so that my cheek was exposed. Before Niall could hit me, a hand pulled on my shoulder.

"Niall, what the fuck?" Damn it, Jake!

"Jake! What the- Oh! I get it, you're dating!" Niall said.

"No! We're not!" I turned around.

"Jacob, what are you doing here?"

"Making sure you don't get your ass kicked!"

"Jake. DROP IT!"

"Well excuse me for trying to protect the one I love."

"What?"

"God, how thick are you?"

"Very. Jake, you don't LOVE me. Look, we slept together, but there's no romance involved!"

"How could you say that? Willow, I LOVE YOU. I meant it when I said it." That's when I realized we were in school, yelling at each other.

"Jake we'll talk about this later."

"What's there to talk about? I love you. There's no changing that." I pulled him away to Harry's class, away from the crowd.

"Jake, quit it."

"There's no stopping love."

"JAKE! IT WASN'T LOVE! IT WAS SEX!"

"Not to me."

"Well, get it through your thick head. It was sex." Instead of saying anything, he kissed me. And I couldn't resist.

So yeah. Jake won't quit, but Willow isn't in love. Sad, isn't it. So, what cha think? I know it was short, but I'm sick, still in school, and yeah. Its crap, but I am sorry. I'll do better next time! Much love!
