Then a girl came into the classroom…. she was really pretty.
Our eyes immediately met.
“hello I’m Mr. Barron, nice to meet you” I greeted her.
“I’m gabby and nice to meet you too” she said.
I was excited to catch her name!
The rest of the class slowly came in and I greeted the rest of them all at once
“So I am Mr. Barron, but if you’d like you can call me Mr. B. Mrs Brigs in going to be out for 3 weeks on a family reunion trip so I will be your substitute teacher for that long”. I said. I heard yays from some students. No trouble makers though.This must have been the advanced class. YIPEE BECAUSE I TOTALLY KNEW SO MUCH ABOUT MATH
If I needed any help I knew I could ask gabby. We had bonded a little and she was the only one I felt comfortable with right away.
“can we go around and say your names please”? I asked
They all said their names and about 2minutes they were don’t with that task.
The bell rang and that meant I had to start teaching then.
“so what are you working on now”? I asked
I called on a kid named Jesse. He said something that I didn’t even know what it was. It just sounded like gibberish or some food or word in another language.
So I decided to teach them a math game called “Bizz buzz”

Group sits in circle facing in.
In a clock-wise direction, scouts count up from 1. Instead of 7 and all multiples of 7, and all numbers that contain 7, say 'Buzz'.
For example, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Buzz, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, Buzz, 15, 16, Buzz, 18, ...
If there is a mistake, start over at 1 with the next scout in line.
Once it is going well qnd the group has reached 50 or so, stop them and add 'Bizz' to the game. Now, substitute 'Bizz' for 5.
For example, 1, 2, 3, 4, Bizz, 6, Buzz, 8, 9, Bizz, 11, 12, 13, Buzz, Bizz, 16, Buzz, 18, 19, Bizz, Buzz, 22, ...
If the number is a multiple of 5 and 7, or has 5 and 7 in it, like 35 or 57 or 70 or 75, say 'BizzBuzz'!
Try for a group record or reaching 100.
Eliminate kids that make mistakes until only the champion is left.

We played pretty much the whole class.
Then the bell rang and I said class dismissed.
Than gabby came up to me….
“I think this is going to be a fun 3 weeks” she said
“me too, you’d better get to class before your late ok?” I assured her
“ok thanks how old are you though?” she asked
“I’m 19, and you”?
“yess” she said eagerly. “And oh 18”
“Have a nice day” she said and slipped out of the classroom fast.
“You too” I said!
Wow I already liked her a lot! And only a 1 year age difference.
Why did she said yes when I said 19 though? Maybe she likes me?!

I left the school around 4:30. And went by my aunts office telling her how my day went. Then I drove home and got ready for tomorrow and showered. I couldn’t wait to see Gabby!
