I remember it like it was yesterday.

***Flashback***

“Hayes you can’t fucking do this to me, You can’t do that to her.”

“Blake don’t you fucking understand. You being the stupid bloke you are and developed feelings for the wrong girl. When this all adds up, it’ll make sense. Yea she’ll hate you but you’ll move on. Find someone else. SHE deserves this.”

“Hayes…she doesn’t deserve any of this.”

“Shutup, I’m getting the shots ready.”

Hayes is just one fucked up child. I felt like bashing his head through the wall as he gathered his genius serum on the table.

Hayes had always been jealous of the Grey’s. Although not rich at the moment, Paul, Lia’s father was a pure genius. In a few years he could sell his ideas, and breakthroughs for millions, and be the richest man alive. That was what Hayes was jealous of.

Hayes worked for Paul. Side by side, helping him create the forum, and test it out. But always craved the lime light. Plotting his revenge, here he was, with Paul’s own serum, testing it out on his own daughter. Hayes was smart, but not a genius. He had figured killing him off sometime tonight, and make poor Lia do it would make the scene practically untraceable. And although we have video of what’s about to happen, there was no way police would ever be able to trace who really killed him. Or who was going to kill him. Hayes was going to inject her with the serum after she does her deeds, and convince her that it was my fault. And then poof. His plan goes into action. But I couldn’t bear to not see Lia. I love her and I just want what’s best, but her hating my guts, and never wanting to speak to me. Or having to be an asshole to her meanwhile in reality I just want my arm wrapped around her. I wasn’t ready for this.

Snapped out of my thoughts, Hayes had finished preparing the serum, and walked over to wear Lia helplessly laid on the ground next to her father. He tossed the gun onto the floor, and kicked it over to her.

“Wha…What is this for..” She stuttered looking up at him.

“Mmm don’t be so oblivious. It’s to kill you father.” He chuckled and tears welled in her eyes.

“Please no…Please I …I…”

“You have 5 mins to say your goodbye’s” He strutted off, and out of the room.

“Keep an eye on em.” He whispered walking out of the room.

And although tried not to listen, but I couldn’t help it.

“Daddy I’m sorry. I ….I should’ve been more careful, and now you’re here stuck with me and it’s all my fault..” She sobbed out, and he just held her in his arms.

“This was not your fault…Shh sweetie. Just remember I love you and your mother and even Vivian on her bad days. So so much. And I’ll watch over you through everything. Never forget that I loved you, and I always will. Ok…You have to do this…and know that I will never blame you….You are a strong, independent, beautiful young girl, and I am so proud to have been able to see you grow to who you are now. Never forget that okay…Never.”

As he finished his last word, Hayes walked in. Handing me the bag once filled with serums, he walked over and jabbed it in the side of her neck. Pulling her back towards him, he waited a few minutes, and jabbed the remainder of the serums one by one in her neck. A mess, he ordered her to stand up, and load the gun.

She did as she was told, and aimed the gun at him. Tears streaming down her face, Hayes chuckled before shouting shoot.

A few silent seconds, and a sobbed out I love you…and I’m sorry before a loud shot filled the air. The bullet piercing straight through his head he laid helpless on the floor, and as soon as Hayes told her the made up story in her ear, she dropped to her knees. Holding her dead father, covered in his blood. She sobbed loudly as Hayes tossed me the gun just in time for her to look back, and see me with it.

I lost her, and she didn’t even remember.
