I pulled my jacket around me as it was an unusually cold day. Especially since summer was still in the air. I was walking to Harry's. First day of school. As I was walking I started to think. I have now know Harry for 5 years. It was odd to think. I felt as if we had become best mates only a week or so ago. I smiled thinking of all the lovely memories. I was so caught up in my thoughts I almost walked straight past his house.

I walked up the steps i had walked up hundreds of times before and knocked. Harry poked his head out and smiled.

I giggled "Are you ready Haz?"

"Yup! Are you?" He said with a smile as he compleletly left the house and shut the door behind him.

"No Haz, I'm just standing here in my pajamas waiting to tell you I'm not ready." I gave him a big smile.

"Haha! So funny!" He said sticking his tongue out at me.

I rolled my eyes and we started walking. We made it about half way to the school when I looked to my left. I stopped dead in my tracks. Harry noticed after a second and came to stand by me again.

"Ara?" He said waving his hand infront of my face. "Arabella?"

I just starred at the little pond. Harry couldn't figure out what I was starring at. I didn't want to take my eyes off of it, for the fear that it would somehow dissapear. I grabbed his hand and started to walk towards it. I then broke into a run dragging him with me. He was laughing behind me. When we finally made it to the pond. I stood at the shore and looked around. I was turning in circles. With every turn I saw something new. I was amazed.

*Harry's POV*

I watched her twirl around. Her reddish brown hair flying around with her. She closed her eyes. I just sat there and watched her. I laughed a bit. Her eyes opened and stopped moving as she was facing me.

"What?" She asked.

"Oh... Um... I thought that was cute was all. It was also a bit random I have to admit." I said laughing a bit more.

"But Haz! Look around! Doesn't it all look so charming?" She said throwing her arms in the air to show emphasis. I laughed again.

"Wait!" She said dropping straight to the ground and pulling out her notebook from her bag. She instantly made a make shift table by pulling her legs towards her chest a bit. She started tracing and drawing. I just sat there. I felt a but strange just watching her, but soon I was caught up in how her hands were moving.

God Harry! Stop. This is just utterly ridiculous!

"Done!" She proclaimed, smiling up at me.

"Do I get to see the master peice?" I said giving her a half smile.

"Get over here and look." She said holding it out to me.

I walke over and took the notebook and look at the picture. I was blown away. With this I could tell exactly what she meant with how she was describing it. I was seeing it through her eyes. I just smiled and looked back at her. She was studing me waiting for my reaction.

"Ara... It's lovely." I said. Right as I was about to turn the page to see what else she had drawn she jumped up and grabbed it.

"Nice try Haz! That's for me! Not wondering eyes!" She said stuffing it back in her bag.

I laughed a bit. "We need to leave before we are late again." She pouted a bit and slupped over as i grabbed her hand and pulled her back to the main road. Right as we pulled out a group of boys walked out from a little Alley. They didn't look like the type I would like to socialize with.

I pulled Ara closer to me. She gave me a confused look, then she saw them, just as they noticed us.

"Oi! Boys, lookie here. We got us a couple of grade school trouble makers!" They one with a tatoo on his neck and a peircing on his eyebrow. I started to walk faster, pulling Ara with me. The boys started to pick up speed.

"Where you going? We just want to have a little chat with you." I could tell by the chuckle in his voice that was not the complete truth.

The one with the neck tattoo yanked me by my shoulder. I pulled Ara behind me.

"Oi, look! He's protecting his little girlfriend. Isn't that sweet?" He put his face closer to mine and I could smell the liqour on his breath. " Trust me little boy. You have no power over me. I heard Ara whine in fear behind me. I wasn't sure why, but her sounding afraid angered me more than anything. I was not in control at all as my fist balled up and came in contact with this man's face. I heard a crack. He stared at me in shock then his hands went to his nose. Ara squealed behind me and grabbed the back of my shirt. His buddies just starred. Then they began to laugh.

"Oi Phil! You just got hit by a bloody child!" They all doubled over in laughter. He was still in shock. I turned slightly grabbed Ara's hand and ran with her. We ran all the way to the school grounds. We went aound back and I put her on the bench and looked around the corner of the wall. There was no one in site. I turned around and Ara's eyes were huge.

"Are you alright?" She said in a hushed tone.

"I'm fine."

"You just...You just hit that man..." She said still staring at me.

"He scared you. I don't like it when you are afriad.." I said looking away. I heard her get up and walk towards me. I continued to look at the tree that was about 5 feet from me. Then she kissed me on my cheek. I could feel the blush rush to my cheek.

"Um.... We better go. I don't want you to be late." I said pushing her inside. We walked towards the office and signed in. We looked at the paper. I stared at my room number. It was room 596. I looked at Ar's and it was room 764. It was the first year we didn't have the same class together. She smiled at me.

"It's not like we don't spend time together outside of school."

I smiled back. "True." I watched her walk away. When she rounded the corner I went in search of my room number.
