~Madelyn's POV~

I took his hand. The moment we touched a shock was sent through my body. I felt warm and ticklish. This is the first time I've felt the warmth of another person for a really long time.

It made me feel.... Well... Sort of.. Happy. I think?

Is this what Happy is supposed to feel like?

Suddenly Louis let go of my hand. I looked up in disappointment but by that time he was running in the tall grass.

"Louis you're making a fool of yourself!" I yelled loud enough for him to hear.

"So! There's no one else here!" He said coming back up to me.

I rolled my eyes. Typical Louis.

"C'mon Maddie! Let's be stupid together!" He encouraged with that cheeky smile of his.

"Bu-"

He interrupted me and started tickling me.

"Louis.... Sto..op....Tickl..ing..me!" I managed to get out in between laughs.

Yet he kept on tickling me.

I kept laughing harder than ever before I actually fell down and that's when he stopped.

We started walking.

"Louis." I said.

"Hmm?"

"Do you ever wonder what your life would've been like if you never had gone to X-Factor?" I asked.

He took a moment to think. We sat down and waited til he continued to talk.

"Not really.... But when I do, I think... Well maybe we could have became closer." He replied.

That's when I got confused.

Closer?.... What does he mean by 'closer'?

"Wait! I forgot! I got you a present, wait here!" He quickly got up and hurried to the car.

I watched as he walked away.


Me and Louis were already best friends. There is only one other thing closer than best friends. And it's well... dating.

But I'm sure he means something else.

"Here you go!" Louis exclaimed handing me a box.

It wasn't big but it wasn't tiny. It was sorta in between.

I opened it and there laid.....



A pair of boots?

I started laughing so hard.

"What?!" Louis asked concerned.

"Lou... I appreciate the gesture but why did you need to get me shoes?" I asked.

"Well, for one it's winter and you're wearing flip flops." He answered.

I gave him a glare. I picked up the boot and playfully hit him in the head.

I giggled as he pretended like he just got a bowling ball thrown at his head.

The laughs died down and it was quiet for a while.

I just looked up at the night sky. Such a pretty dark blue with the crescent moon. Before my mom became an alcoholic she would always tell me that the moon had a face. It's very hard to tell if it's there or not. But to this day I still cannot see any sign of it at all.

So I watched the stars twinkle and dance.

Those stars are brighter than my future, I joked to myself in my head.

I smiled because of course I think I'm funny. When honestly I could be the worst comedian in the world.

"Maddie?" He asked.

I turned to face him.

"Yes, Louis?"

There was a moment of silence as we stared at each other.

"Lou?" I asked trying to snap him back in reality.

Immediately his lips landed on mine. I was shocked but soon I gave in and kissed back.

His arms wrapped around my waist while my arms wrapped around his neck.

'What are you doing, Madelyn!?' I thought to myself.

'Are you insane?!'

'You can't do this!'

'What about Eleanor?!'

'This is Louis freaking Tomlinson we're talking about'

'Push him off. Leave NOW!'

'Madelyn Claire Benward! I demand you to stop doing this!'

'You can't let love take over you!'

All these thoughts kept slipping in my mind but I ignored them.

I felt like I was going a million miles an hour.

The speed of light and there was no limit. Not even the sky.

I feel like I'm having cardiac arrest.

We let go, we were both quietly panting.

"You do know what this means right?" He asked.

I nodded happily.

He pulled me into a hug and we stood like that for a long time.
