“what do you want Harry” I said with the door still locked trying not to make it obvious that I’ve been crying.
“I was wondering if you’re ok you kind of just ran off and you have been up here for about 20 minutes are you ok?” he asked.
“I’m fine just go back downstairs I’ll be down in a minute” I said I splashed some water over my face and I styled my hair so you couldn’t see my ears i still don’t know why I had to become like this. I did a one final look over and my eyes had died down so I went back downstairs.
“are you ok?” they all asked.
“I feel ill” I lied.
“come here” Liam said so I stood in front of him and he felt my head.
“well your head isn’t hot” he said.
“I think it’s just tiredness and that” I said.
“you can go to bed you know” Louis said.
“this isn’t your home though” I said.
“are you trying to kick us out” Louis said fake crying.
“of course not so are you guys staying?” I asked.
“well it is really late if you don’t mind can we stay.” Harry asked.
“sure whatever I’m going to bed anyway you know where everything is and you know where to sleep so goodnight” I said and I went up to bed. I changed into a pair of sweat pants where I could stick my tail through and I locked my bedroom door I mean I can’t have them walking in to see my tail or ears. I will do everything and anything so they don’t find out! after a few hours I finally fell asleep.
*nightmare/ flashback*
It had been a year since I was took to that awful place I was still human and had variable tests performed on me as I looked down I had bruises from needles and from the way I have been treated I was even skinner since I’ve barely been fed and I feel numb and again I just want to go home but I can’t I know I can’t.
“get out here now” the man yelled at me I quickly got out but he kicked me down the hallway and I stumbled to the floor where he dragged me up and pushed me along until I reached the room with the table I tried to run but he hit my head off the wall knocking me out. when I woke up I looked around to see myself strapped against the table with more needles.
“why am I here” I whispered.
“your my little experiment.” He said ruffling my hair.
“what experiment?” I asked.
“shut up” his assistant said and slapped me.
“pass me that needle we are going to start it today everything came back positive and he is alright for this experiment” the man in white said.
“what no, no, no!” I shouted and they placed the needle in my skin where I felt excruciation pain rush through my body and I was sweating, screaming and shouting just wanting to be free, but I ended up passing out because the pain was too much. When I woke up I was In a lot of pain but not as much as I was before.
“it worked, I can’t believe it worked.” The man in white said.
“what are you on about” I said but I earned a slap.
“you will not talk unless you are talking to” the assistant said.
“now, now let’s show the boy his new look” the man in white said un tightening my re-strengths I sat up and he dragged me off the table and I hissed at him wait I hissed? He pushed me over to a mirror where I hissed again and I looked at myself and I cried and I was frozen I had two ears on top of my head and I had a tail my hand was shaking as it reached up and touched the two ears on my head which flinched at my touch.
“what have you done to me” I whimpered.
“you’re a cat hybrid Niall” the man in white said.
“the strapped me back to the table and they did some more tests until I was shoved back into my cell where I was still shaking and scared now I defiantly want to go home. A week later I was treated really badly I was constantly trying to leave and I wasn’t taking orders and I kept getting beat up and they had a shock collar around my neck and I had scars on my body, lots of bruises and my shirt was covered in blood and rips. My body was throbbing and all I wanted was to go home.
*nightmare over*
I woke up with sweat dripping down me remembering that night and I looked at myself in the mirror and I pulled up my top and looked at the many scares that were left from then I ran my hand over one of the ones on my hip and shuddered at the thought of how I got it. And someone was banging on my door. I quickly put my tail behind my back where no one would see it and flattened my ears and opened the door slightly to see all the boys looking very sleepy and scared.
“are you ok Niall we heard you shouting?” Liam said.
“I was shouting?” I asked.
“yeah are you ok?” Louis asked.
“yeah I’m fine just a nightmare” I said.
“what was it about?” Harry asked.
“n-nothing now I’m going back to bed” I said shutting the door but Zayn put his foot in-between so the door wouldn’t shut.
“Niall what was your nightmare about that screaming and shouting wasn’t nothing it sounded like someone came in here and was murdering you tell us what’s wrong” Zayn said.
“i-I told you it was nothing” I stuttered.
“Niall your stuttering so we know your lying” Liam said.
“just let me go to bed!” I hissed shit I hissed in front of them, they all looked shocked and Zayn moved his foot and I slammed the door shut locking it. Ok I can explain this, I will explain it tomorrow morning. I woke up the next morning and I looked at my reflection I looked so tired I went into the en-suite and I had a quick shower and dried my hair, but put a beanie on I was too tired to sort it out and having to constantly focus on my ears being on show I also put some jeans on and hid my tail and put a baggy jumper on and I walked out of my room and into the kitchen and Harry was standing cooking whilst everyone was sitting around the table.
“hey Niall” Liam said.
“hey” I said back taking a seat around the table.
“we’re sorry about last night about bugging you it’s just we worry about you sometimes” Zayn said.
“it’s fine I shouldn’t have been that annoyed, I should have seen that you guys were just trying to help it’s just that nightmare got to me and it annoyed me and obviously I took it out on you guys.” I said.
“it’s fine here have some breakfast” Harry said placing a full English breakfast in front of me.
“Niall.” Louis said.
“yeah Lou” I said taking a bite of bacon.
“last night before you slammed the door shut you hissed at us” he said.
“I didn’t hiss I can’t hiss I mean people can’t hiss you guys must have just misheard what I said.” I said.
“ok then” Louis said eating his breakfast.
“so what are we going to do today” I said.
“we have a week off, tomorrow I’m going to see some family” Zayn said.
“I’m seeing some family too” Louis said.
“I am as well” Harry said.
“Liam?” I asked.
“some of my family is on holiday so I don’t know I’m just gonna chill out a bit” he said.
“ what about you Niall aren’t you going to see your family” Harry said.
“na i’m just gonna stay here” I said.
“you never seem to see your family?” Zayn said.
“ I know” I mumbled.
“why?” Liam asked.
“no reason.” I said.
“there has to be a reason, look you can trust us you know that you have known all of us for 3 years now come on tell us” Louis said.
“I can’t” I said and walked off. Of course I won’t see my family anymore I mean what do you think my parents said when I came back home after 4 years of being trapped in that place and saw I had cat ears and a tail. They freaked out and kicked me out luckily I did have someone Who took me in.
*flashback*
It had been two more years since I was changed into this hybrid and the punishments kept getting worse and worse I was 10 and I got dragged out of my cage again and dragged into a new room that I had never been in the man dragging me pushed me into the room and the door closed. I looked around and this room was white no windows but a lot of light and there was a seat in the middle.
“come on now don’t be scared take a seat.” A gentle voice said. a woman in her early thirty’s said I backed up against the wall and fell against it.
“don’t worry I’m not going to hurt you I’m just going to clean you up” she said again. I took a few steps forward and she grabbed my hand but i jerked it out. “ sit down dear “ she said I took a seat and she had a wet cloth and went over my face cleaning all the muck and dirt out of it she then went on to washing my hair and giving it a cut since it was getting long and I ended up getting a bath.
“nice and clean now, here put these on.” She said handing me a pair of pants and a plain t-shirt. “you don’t deserve to be in here you didn’t deserve to become like this” she said.
“I just want to go home” I whispered she ran her hands through my hair scratching behind my ears making me purr.
“I know I wish I could help you” she said and a small girl about my age came running in.
“mum why do I have to be here I’m bored I want to go out and play with my friends.” The little girl said.
“Zoe you can’t your dad isn’t home he’s working and no one can look after you so you have to be here.” Her mum said.
“I’m sorry” the girls mum said to me and I stayed quiet and the girl came over to me.
“hi I’m zoe” she said sticking her hand out I hastily shook it.
“Niall” I said.
“wait what are those” Zoe said pointing to my ears and I looked to the floor and flattening my ears into my hair.
“Zoe he’s a hybrid half human half cat this is what they do here.” Her mum said.
“aw your so adorable” Zoe said.
“it’s annoying I just want to go home” I said.
“why can’t you?” she asked.
“they won’t let me they have kept me here for about 4 years” I said almost crying.
“can I touch your ears” Zoe said I bent down so she could touch them and she touched them causing me to purr.
“you are the most adorable person I have ever met, mum we can’t let him stay here we have to get him out.” Zoe said.
